- Gabby remains strong & faithful to her nest as she continues to wait for her Samson to return to her. Samson was last seen on Friday Nov 25th early in the morning with Gabby. What happened to Samson after he departed we do not know but Gabby continues to keep hope in her heart for his return. She is a strong female and this is her nest and territory! We all will continue to hope along side of her and pray that Samson will come back! Thank you for watching!

Sweet, beautiful Gabby

Your nest is all ready
Though it lays empty and bare,
and unknowingly an audience
watches with worry and care.
For you are our family
through screens and live cams
and our hearts are entangled
With your heart and Sam's.
May Mother Nature have Samson
safe in Her arms.
May she provide all his needs
and stave off any harms.
We hope he comes back, Gabby.
We truly do!
But how w this story unfolds

It’s been more than a month and tears still overtake me when I watch this. Thank goodness Gabby is stronger than me and she’s finding her own way every day❤️. Samson will never be replaced in our hearts but I’m eager to watch her adventures continue as she finds a new mate and as a happy and fulfilled eagle!!❤️🦅❤️

Shadow from the Big Bear nest was missing for 6 days and came back just fine, so I still have hope for Samson! Sometimes eagles just take a hiatus.

This loss of Samson really broke my heart. It is the first nest that I followed assiduously it is almost 3 years (with the small Legacy).

Hello Mehdi I feel the same way. I started watching NEFL in 2013 with Samson and his sister Delilah as eaglets. I know that an eagle that is injured can stay away from their nest for a week or two and if the injury is not serious they will return. That is my hope for Samson! ♥♥
Just reading your comment gives some hope that he may return. I just checked to see an update on Samson as the last 2 days we were on the road driving from N. Wisconsin to Florida for winter break. I’m so sad like all of you 🥲

Lady Hawk so true, Gabrielle held down the nest back when Romeo and Juliet was there, she tried to incubate but didn't know how, she was young, she held on to the nest till migration was over and here came Samson; and they became a paired couple. Yes, Gabrielle has this handled and pray for Samson's return.

They found Rita, badly injured, Open wound, broken wing. Probably Rita, if she makes it, wont be able to fly again. Really sad. Ron is waiting, but he does not know Rita being taken care of at Zoo Miami.

Hi Mary we did have a male albatross that was missing for a month - this was OGK (Pippa Atawhai's Dad) and also Dad of QT Lilbet. He arrived back with a leg injury and injured spot on his bill. He was able to heal at sea and we were very happy to see that recovery.

Over last weekend, Gabby was calling out for Samson, regularly. It was hard to watch her as she tried to figure it out and make decisions that are only hers to make! We all want to lend her a hand❣️
She has my prayers, along with missing Samson❣️😿🙏💕
She had an "interested" young male in the nest and tree, just hoping for a chance, last Sunday, in the late afternoon. She chased him off the nest, but, he spent the night perched on a nearby branch. On Monday they were a little friendlier in the nest and had a "discussion" but she flew away and left him there. He left a short while later and hasn't been seen since. (??)
No surprise as she's a "catch" in their world!! It's surprising that there weren't others, as of this afternoon, but, she was off the nest, today, and it's 6 days now since he has last been seen.
Her cries are much less frequent and, at times, she is now remarkably quiet, while the chatters are in grief and struggling.
It's all so fascinating as judging by the people on the chat who have been following them, or eagles in general, for many years, what was expected didn't happen and what did happen was not expected, or anticipated, for the most part.
So, there is so much to learn about these majestic birds and, hopefully, with new cams going up all the time, we will get a fabulous show.
We, (myself included), just have to keep in mind that we are only observers into a world that we cannot control.
It's all up to Gabby as to what she will do next. I respect that, because, God designed them to handle eagle issues and we have no input, only hope and desire, which is nice, but, it doesn't change a thing. TTE, they know how to be one❣️
She's young and has a nest and territory!! If Samson doesn't return in whatever timing suits her fancy, there should be quite a show❣️🍿🍦🍕🍟🥡🍔

I'm glued to this story, now, because they were doing nestorations and we were loving your update videos. Things looked great.
Now, the nest looks like nests do after the eaglets have bounced around, wingersized, and, smashed the rails apart, at the end of each season. Almost neglected looking.
Last night she dug into the nest bole and it was feared that she would lay an egg.
I was surprised at how many people came into the chat wanting her to do just that. But, there have been some there, thank God, who pointed out how badly that could go, etc.
I see so much love and interest from the viewers and it breaks my heart to see us all trudging through the reality. But, using our emotions is what humans do. Eagles?? Only God knows! But, I have faith that just like other success stories in their world, H & M15's, for example, there will probably be a rainbow 🌈 after this storm in Gabby's life. And, we can enjoy watching her, if we just let her be an eagle!! ❤️🦅❤️

I am a new YT commenter but I have been watching the SWFL nest since M15 came into Harriet's life.
I never chatted nor commented on videos before joining YT this past May.
I did know of Lady Hawk's work as I accessed her fabulous videos through the Pritchett Real Estate site. I also read the monitored chat there and visited the Hancock Wildlife Forum for daily nest highlights. So, I watched silently at various levels and intensities, for years, absorbing and learning. It's amazing what a person can learn, when they have their mouth shut! Lol!🤣
I really had no desire to get into chatting and/or commenting, until May. I took the leap coming here because it looked friendly and knowing LH's name and work I knew she was a serious lover of these beautiful birds and not a fly-by-night exploiter. Which is my personal pet peeve as I travel the shark filled waters of the internet. And, I will defend the innocent animals at every turn, for they are sinless and only following their intricate design and purposes in life, through their God-given instincts.
I love giving them voices and songs, but, that's mere folly for amusement and laughter. Underneath it all, I am well aware of the fact that we really are two different worlds sharing one planet!
I experience joy and sadness because through such intimate observation we do enter their domain and get incredibly attached to them and get to know their habits, their strong points and their flaws. We love them for who they are and are acquainted with their endearing personalities. Just like we are with our household pets. Maybe even more so, as we study them so intently, because they are so unattainable and untamed. And, yet, we get to see that beneath that wild veneer, there is love, tenderness, compassion, teaching of their young, grieving, and a host of other things we don't normally associate with animals in the wild.
Never in a million years had I thought that I would be following these creatures, as I do. Nor the other beauties that Lady Hawk brings to our attention.
It's wonderful and therapeutic. And, I just want to share my feelings with others and say that this is how you can get a better ride from this trip we're on.
Glad you gained something, even just a smile. That makes the whole thing worth the effort so much more.

Love this pair and still holding onto hope for Samson's return.
Will there be any eggs this season?
And will gabby be able to incubate them and still get up and find food....... i know the eggs need heat, but it does not get really cold where she is........ will the outside temperature be enough to incubate the eggs and make them hatch, even if gabby is gone for a couple of hours or so a day?
I was watching her earlier and she was laying in the nest. Looking around like she was reminiscing. Thinking of past broods and her time laying just like that, season after season. She then got up, looked around like she was saying good bye and flew away. Hope everything works out for her!

Hi dear Lady Hawk! Do you know if that intruder (male) is still "harassing" Gabby's nest?! 🤔
Hi Silvana no that young intruder has not been around. But today there was a new intruder at the nest tree with a a lot of discoloration in head feathers and partially dark tail feathers. I am going to go back and review all the cams on this one. Gabby was upset and vocalized from on her nest at it. 1:50 pm on Dec 2nd.

Hi dear Lady Hawk! I don't know if you see that intruder we saw yesterday at the Gabby's nest came back again today. At 12:21:00 pm we can see him perched on the branch and Gabby on another branch. He left the nest at 02:03:45 pm. It is worth checking. Take care, my dear friend. 🌺💙💙
Do people go out and look around the area. Are binoculars used? Just asking because I have no clue. I am new at this. I'll be learning as I go. It is just a helpless and devastating feeling that goes straight to your heart. Thanks Lady Hawk !! You are so valuable to this project !!

My heart goes out for Gabrielle - she appears tired and is much quieter now.
St. Francis loved the birds the most (out of all the animals on earth) - may he bring Samson back to his soul mate Gabrielle.❤

Ele não estava agindo mal, então não há suspeita de doença. Se ele estiver ferido, esperamos que alguém no chão o aviste em breve.
Didn't Sam disappear once before and he came back? I may be wring, but....
I don't recall Samson disappearing before. Gabrielle left early in the season (when they had Jules) and she and Jules disappeared and we never saw them come back. That was in April - Gabby then showed up in September to begin their 2nd season together. I know we were worried about her sudden departure like that. It was very odd since eagles stick around until after their offspring have left the area for a period of time. Samson was here until June or July all alone then he departed too. But this time it is different. I think something has happened to Samson unfortunately. :(

I pray 🙏 he shows up soon...I heard that an eagle named Rita was found injured and they someone figured it out because her mate Ron was alone for awhile...they hope to nurse her back so she can be with her mate, Ron...It amazes me how loyal eagles are to each other...💞
I hope Rita recovers fully, however she has a badly broken wing that requires a surgical repair. Rita's ability to fly might be impaired. That remains to be seen. Returning to her nest soon is unlikely.
How Rita was injured is unknown. Updates are being posted on Facebook.

I remember when he returned to the nest this season. And waited so patiently for her return. Oh my goodness I am beside myself.
I read where shadow, from Big Bear in California, went missing but returned after 6 days.
I am going to pray, and have faith, that he will return. 🙏🦅🙏
