Ridgid is in a really tough spot between Milwaukee and Ryobi. Their batteries are also expensive even compared to Milwaukee. When they go on sale, Ridgid deals aren't as good as either of the two. For example, their buy more save more is at 20% while Milwaukee's is 30%. At sale price, you might as well go Milwaukee. They did some niche products really well though (butane heatgun, power planer, sliding miter saw before milwaukee had theirs)
That oscillating Tool looks pretty good. I like the grip on that joint. Looks a little like the Ryobi design which makes sense but it's definitely lighter plus it's brushless and a bit tougher build. I can dig it yo.
The belt hook on new impact driver looks interesting. The design and style looks completely new and diff than any other brand (least from what can see on vid, maybe I’m wrong, but looks “interesting”); & wonder how it “works”? Clint...know you’ll be testing these tools for us, can’t wait to see those vids! Octane was kinda a cool name, but, imo, just didn’t perform like “thought” they would.....however, believe these are targeted in b/t ProSumer and Contractor grade tools, and definitely same w/ these new tools, no😉 Thinking 16:01 on top is power switch and not a selector..... unsure about the speed control “dial” placement; and this OMT definitely looks feint heavy, w/ that bulk. But hey, might be well balance and feel great in hand(I know, I know....that sounds odd, it what can ya do😂).
Love the videos. So glad they got rid of the mouse trap. Keep up the good work. Any more multi tool wood blades or metal. Like to see more videos on the if you could.
I really wish Emerson would just take there tools back make an adapter for the old batteries and get a direct contract to home depot so that tti doesn't completely ruin thier reputation.
The new 3 speed impact is awesome as I may go from 3rd speed on the floor to speed one on the plywood under countertop ...works awesome! New drill and reciprocating saw are great as well . Need a worm drive circle saw 18 volt and dam it get the framing nailer to market. Guy I work with has a new ? 31/2 inch maybe 4 inch circle saw from DeWalt and I am pissed I don't have one in my Ridgid collecting.
Yahoo, SIX PORT CHARGER! I just got the same announcement email, and clicked through. The page I landed on says the charger is a sequential one (only charges one battery at a time). I happen to have a Ryobi 6-port Supercharger for my Ryobi tools, and it is also charges sequentially. But that's never been a big issue for me, because battery chargers usually work a lot faster than I do!
PS. I have major jones goin' on for a 18V framing nailer, so this video has me tickled pink. My enthusiasm is a little dampened by the price tag ($329), but hopefully we'll see some good deals before long.
As someone who owns a number of Ridgid Tools, and has given them as gifts to my two oldest sons, I'd like to say "I'm Excited," re their new releases, BUT..... If I've learned anything about Ridgid it's 2 things; 1) Their Build Quality is ALL OVER the MAP, and 2) FORGET the "LSA" when it comes to using that as a deciding factor in purchasing your next Ridgid tool. When it comes to the Ridgid warranties, (imo) you're much better off telling yourself that they have a "3 Year Warranty", AND if you can get them to HONOR that "LSA", then its "Icing of the Cake", as the "hoops" you have to jump through are pretty much documented via a cursory search on the 'net from others that have either been sorely disappointed re attempting to get Ridgid to honor it, and/or the COSTS (in both Time and $$$'s) just wasn't worth it! (Yes, you read me correctly! - - You WILL incur both Time and MONEY in attempting to get them to honor that "LSA" (which by the way is NOT a "Lifetime Warranty"), and in some cases you'll be out both, with Ridgid exercising a "Weasel Clause" so as to not fix/replace your tool! - - The results are VERY MIXED (probably dependent upon WHO you're dealing with as a Ridgid "Representative"), but I personally would NOT let that "LSA" be the "Deciding Factor" when it comes to purchasing their tools. Re "Build Quality" - - Recently my local HD store put their Ridgid "Cordless Butane Heat Guns" on "CLEARANCE"! - - It was a great price and I was about to jump on it, but I exercised caution and decided to look at the user reviews first. The reviews were HORRID, and thus I "passed". Remember, that "LSA" says that they'll "repair" your item, so if you have an item that is inherently a BAD DESIGN you're not going anywhere re getting any sort of satisfaction or resolution! - - Also a word about their BATTERIES having a "LIFETIME SERVICE AGREEMENT" - - Ridgid has really "Covered Their Butts" (imo) as that LSA ONLY APPLIES to their batteries that have been purchased in a "Kit Form". Thus even if you buy that battery "Brand New", and directly from H.D., if you purchase that battery APART FROM BEING IN "KIT FORM", Ridgid is NOT going to allow you to register it for an "LSA" agreement, though it should still come with their standard 3 Year Warranty. Also, its next-to-impossible to get one of their Higher Amp Batteries in a "Kt" (most have very low amp-hour batteries with them), so the battery that will be covered by that LSA will not be one of their higher output units, thus limiting Ridgid's liability should that battery go bad past the standard 3 Year Warranty Period. Lastly, I'm only "Semi-Excited" re their new "Cordless Framing Nailers", as MANY of the Reviews on their current line of Cordless Nailers have seriously raised into question the Build Quality and Reliability of those units, (their 16 gauge and 18 gauge offerings), and again, an "LSA" is absolutely worthless if the engineering and/or build quality of said units is so lacking, that it simply CAN'T be "fixed". My personal recommendation to those considering one of their new lines of Cordless Nailers, is to use them IMMEDIATELY and use them VIGOROUSLY, and thus stay within Home Depot's "6 Month Return Window". If not, you could wind up with a very expensive "Paper Weight" (Personally, even the Milwaukee Cordless Framing Nailer, which has gotten very favorable reviews, is much too heavy for my preferences, and I'm assuming the Ridgid Cordless Framing Nailer will be equally as heavy, but then again, that's purely subjective, and someone else may well be willing to endure an extra 2.5 lbs (vs a Pneumatic version), in exchange for not having to deal with an Air Hose and Compressor). I am glad to see that Ridgid came out with not only a 21 Degree Model for their Framing Nailer, but also a 30 Degree Model. These new tools might be wonderful, and as I mentioned at the beginning, I both own Ridgid Tools, and have given them as gifts, but I'm also very aware of the "caveats" and "cautions" that come with their purchase and ownership. (My High-End tools are Makita, but I also realize that the purchase of either Makita and/or Milwaukee, in relationship to how often or how vigorously they will be used, cannot be "Cost Justified" by many...) THANKS for the time you invested in your review!!
Wow, now that's a comment 😆👊. I'll actually be speaking with them tomorrow and will bring up these points. I know that there is a hole new design and engineering team at Ridgid, and looking to make up for some of this...so I'm told.
@@ToolReviewZone Hey there TZR! My kids have always called me, "The Grammar Nazi" (to which I've perpetually replied, "Would you rather me tell you, or your future ex-boss!!??") - - That being said, you "triggered" my "Grammar Nazi" flag with an "error" that was actually VERY FUNNY! - - What you meant to say was, ".... a WHOLE (vs "hole") new design and engineering team ...etc, but since we're "Talkin' Tools" it was actually as if you'd planned that faux pas! TOO FUNNY! - - Well, while you're talking to them, you might ask them WHY? with the recent introduction of their Cordless Band Saw, that they chose NOT to engineer it around a BRUSHLESS motor, vs "Old School" technology? Perhaps there's a valid and logical reason, but it did leave me wondering! Anxious to read about what you're able to glean from your upcoming meeting with them, and again, "Thank You!" for the time and effort that you put into this video, as it is greatly appreciated! Dad (The Grammar Nazi) Brad (-: (-:
The battery having to be in a kit is no longer required! In the launch video on ridgids channel, the fine print says, "All batteries purchased after 3-7-21 are now eligible for the lsa"!!!
The framing gun looks like it might be great depending on the price. I have always said ryobi has one of the best 18g trim guns and 15g gun in there 18v. I have used them for years. They have been out for years and they never jam and omg you can’t beat the price. I think I paid 99 dollars for my 18g gun and we use it all the time and the 15g is a beast for facia and soffit. I own everything dewalt and that includes there 20v framing gun but I don’t leave ryobi for the 18g and 15g 18v guns. They just always work and I have never had a problem and we use them with there 2 amp battery to keep weight down.
If they were going to make new batteries, they shouldve shrunk the size of the battery base insert (existing models are really wide and is apparent with the subcompact line of tools) in this new line of tools all together. Sure it wouldve made some of the old ridgid users mad but you already have the gen x4/x5, octane and subcompact line that all share the same battery size. Shrinking the battery base wouldve been nice
Ridgid has had a compact octane hammer drill for ages, I guess everyone forgot about it 😂 I wonder if this new hammer drill is the same size or smaller than that one though, could be interesting.
2:09 am I crazy.... but that framing nailer looks like it’s “lighter” than Milwaukee’s Fuel 21° framing nailer. Maybe just the design 🤷🏼♂️ Can’t wait to test out nailers; you know I like me some nail guns😂, along with waiting, waiting, & waiting for there release😉
Might as well get the older (R86211) octane full sized impact wrench because it was 1500 ft/lbs of loosening torque with 6 different modes to select and a led light. The newer (R86212B) Impact wrench is only 1300 ft/lbs of loosening torque with 3 speed options. Also the drill may be smaller but it is also weaker, at only 800 in/lbs vs the older (R8611506) at 1300 in/lbs or torque. Luckily the recip saw seems to be more powerful...
I'm curious why no one has dug deep into the octane vs max output and covered the fact that it's actually just a rebrand. Let me explain. Example the new 2300 inch lb impact driver has 2 tabs for battery connection, the hammer drill bundled in that kit however has 4 tabs for the battery just like octane models. The max output batteries have 6 tabs just like octane. the hyper lithion Ion has 4. Quite honestly it looks like just more of the same where some tools will benefit from octane/max batteries and some will only benefit from raw power supplied. It's on the reviewers and consumers now to point out the difference now.
Idk. Milwaukee's kinda the king of power tools with the red lithium and the amount of badass lengths they go to help the customer. I talk to milwaukee all the time and They always respond back cool as shit. DeWalt never responds, ridgids got some assholes working over there..idk. I love milwaukee.
I mean this isn’t true for everyone. Dewalt is a great brand and customer service has been great to me. I would love Milwaukee’s stuff but they are definitely expensive and honestly not worth that extra money for me. Almost everyone who was pro Milwaukee in my area is changing because of their own reasons.

The only stanley tools I own are a flathead screwdriver and 2 pairs of safety glasses. Dewalt power tools can never handle the power and they usually die before I can even get half a job done. Dewalts drill bits are so bad.. they're cheap, easy to get, strip easily, fuckin just awful. However,I fuckin love dewalt blades. I love all their blades better than diablo and Milwaukee's by a decent amount. Milwaukee packs the punch. For heavy duty and light duty shit, they can really tear a new ass in the job. Their sawzalls are amazing, last week I cut an entire chevy impala into small pieces using nothing but a milwaukee m18 non fuel sawzall. Milwaukees impacts are extraordinarily powerful for semi lugnuts, rusted as hell bolts, tractor bolts, and more. Honestly I'm kinda pissed that half the tools are downgrades. There's a reason why people bought so much gen5x stuff. Normals sized tools with decent power. But no now we have tools that should be 12 volt kicking out tools and getting them discontinued.
My thoughts exactly. The new hammer drill has half the power of the old Octane and the biggest battery is now 8Ah instead of 9Ah. Moving in the wrong direction.. I have a full set of Ridgid Octane and I'm regretting it now, wish I had gone for Milwaukee (but my bank account disagrees lol)
@@ToolReviewZone the high torque impact wrench looks about the same size as the hight torque octane that came out last year. The octane is 1500 ft lbs nut busting and the new one is 1300 ft lbs nut busting. Hopefully they succeed because I am a ridgid fan.

@@ToolReviewZone UNLESS Rigid has changed their LSA Policy, one CANNOT register ANY Ridgid Battery for the "LSA" apart from being purchased in "Kit" form. One would still get the standard "3 Year Warranty", but I personally feel that this is very "sneaky" on Ridgid's behalf, especially as the overwhelming majority of the "Kit" batteries are of the very low Amp-Hour variety! The design and style looks completely new and diff than any other brand (least from what can see on vid, maybe I’m wrong, but looks “interesting”); & wonder how it “works”? Clint...know you’ll be testing these tools for us, can’t wait to see those vids!
Octane was kinda a cool name, but, imo, just didn’t perform like “thought” they would.....however, believe these are targeted in b/t ProSumer and Contractor grade tools, and definitely same w/ these new tools, no😉
Thinking 16:01 on top is power switch and not a selector..... unsure about the speed control “dial” placement; and this OMT definitely looks feint heavy, w/ that bulk. But hey, might be well balance and feel great in hand(I know, I know....that sounds odd, it what can ya do😂).
Love the videos. So glad they got rid of the mouse trap. Keep up the good work. Any more multi tool wood blades or metal. Like to see more videos on the if you could.
Thanks Paul and I'll definitely get more blades on the channel!!!!!
I really wish Emerson would just take there tools back make an adapter for the old batteries and get a direct contract to home depot so that tti doesn't completely ruin thier reputation.
I agree
Yeah brother, definitely not cheap. Glad they are coming out with new, but really with the charger was simultaneous
I love my Ridgid tools. Great video, thank you.
Awesome and thanks SOA!!!
I am so happy I just switched to Ridgid
What did you have before and how long did you use the other brand/brands?
Also a word about their BATTERIES having a "LIFETIME SERVICE AGREEMENT" - - Ridgid has really "Covered Their Butts" (imo) as that LSA ONLY APPLIES to their batteries that have been purchased in a "Kit Form".
(My High-End tools are Makita, but I also realize that the purchase of either Makita and/or Milwaukee, in relationship to how often or how vigorously they will be used, cannot be "Cost Justified" by many...)
THANKS for the time you invested in your review!!
TOO FUNNY! - -
Well, while you're talking to them, you might ask them WHY? with the recent introduction of their Cordless Band Saw, that they chose NOT to engineer it around a BRUSHLESS motor, vs "Old School" technology? Perhaps there's a valid and logical reason, but it did leave me wondering!
Anxious to read about what you're able to glean from your upcoming meeting with them, and again, "Thank You!" for the time and effort that you put into this video, as it is greatly appreciated!
Dad (The Grammar Nazi) Brad (-: (-:
Hahaha, definitely will and thanks for the comment Brad👊👊👊
The battery having to be in a kit is no longer required! In the launch video on ridgids channel, the fine print says, "All batteries purchased after 3-7-21 are now eligible for the lsa"!!!
@@TURBOWANDS That is GREAT news! Thanks for the update!!
They are going up to compete with red and yellow thats a good thing the game its on. Keep the good work
wonder how long they’ll keep the lifetime warranty.........
@@808stateofmind2 idk, probably a lifetime.
Haha
They have improved it and added to even their new batteries and chargers. It won't go anywhere
Well, technically TTI owns both ridgid and Milwaukee. So they win if you go orange or if you go red.
Hey Clint, nice ridgid roundup!!!
Thanks Ted!!!!!
I hope they keep the old charger radio since I REALLY like that thing
Where did you find a charger radio? I only have the job site radio
On the home depot website the one that looks like the non charging one but a different color in some places. I think its like $220 Canadian
I HAVE A RIDGID FAN BOY WHO WILL BE LIKE NOW THATS REAL NICE LIKE 👍🏽. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BRO I HOPE A DEWALT ONE WILL BE COMING SOON 😬😬
Hahaha. Thanks Dewalt!!!!
Worship of tools day is March 11.
New ridgid tools looks very good
If they were going to make new batteries, they shouldve shrunk the size of the battery base insert (existing models are really wide and is apparent with the subcompact line of tools) in this new line of tools all together. Sure it wouldve made some of the old ridgid users mad but you already have the gen x4/x5, octane and subcompact line that all share the same battery size. Shrinking the battery base wouldve been nice
Love it big ridgid fan. Now we need a worm drive saw
Agree!!!!
Agree need our7 1/4 saw to have a little more power
Ridgid has had a compact octane hammer drill for ages, I guess everyone forgot about it 😂
I wonder if this new hammer drill is the same size or smaller than that one though, could be interesting.
Wow even ridgid listened about the rafter hook unlike dewalt that never listens on rafter hooks or orbital on there recips @ToolReviewZone
yeah bro, I agree with what you just said!!!
They need a 3/4” and 1” impact to compete with Milwaukee.
Where is the cordless mitre saw? Still can’t find it except in Canada.
I wish they would upgrade the cordless vac wd0319 to a brushless and make it a bit quieter. its been a long time since its original release
2:09 am I crazy.... but that framing nailer looks like it’s “lighter” than Milwaukee’s Fuel 21° framing nailer. Maybe just the design 🤷🏼♂️
Can’t wait to test out nailers; you know I like me some nail guns😂, along with waiting, waiting, & waiting for there release😉
That 18G brad nailer... is a BL Ryobi in orange...
Provides more power and extended runtime compared to a smaller battery
The all new 2 Gallon bucket provides more volume than the 1 gallon bucket
I look forward to that 1/2" high torque impact wrench.
Great video Clint @ToolReviewZone
are bosch batteries compatibles with rigid?
I’m looking forward to the brad nailer because the one that they have before is a back breaker
Nice! Ridgid grEase gun
Bring back the cordless miter saw!!
They did last month
how about the new 10” ridgid slider!? R4241 ??
Looks like TTI is stepping up with all of their name brands.💪🏽
Smeeesh that like button. 👀👉🏽 👍🏽
Yeah buddy, and thanks for the SMEEESH Jason!!!
what's up whit the stealth force??? 🙁
Also glad because Milwaukee is Techtronic industry ( Hong Kong ) and dewalt is Stanley black and decker ( USA Connecticut )
@@kylecorbett3191 stanley, black and decker, and dewalt have all failed me in the past. Stanley ratchets, sockets, tape measures, all of their tools are absolute trash. Milwaukee has responded to me directly every single time I have ever had a question or a warranty. Ridgid? Fuck em. Buncha asshats over there. Dewalt? Takes em weeks to answer and by the time ya do,ya already solved the problem. Tekton, milwaukee, only dewalt blades,is all I have used for years.
@@Ferkle871 of course every brand is better at things then others. Like Bosch’s router being one of the best. I’m not loyal to any brand, I research every tool before I buy it. Also dewalt not getting back to you I can’t really say what’s going on. They literally have a chat you can message someone and have instant answers, waiting weeks has never happen to me. Maybe it was a special part ? Maybe you were angry and caused them to mess with you ?
@@kylecorbett3191 I am also not loyal to one brand as I obviously said before. I didn't once say I was even loyal to one company. Also,no,I wasnt angry. If I'm messaging a multi million dollar group of ass wipes I'm gonna fuckin suck up and be as nice as possible if I want some damn help lmfao. Bosch's router can eat a can of ass, twice
About time ridgid 👍👊
I am waiting for the 21 degree nailer cordless ...come on guys I need this Monday but will not go outside my Ridgid tools ...so dam it get this badly to market!
I just did a review on the 21 Gauge framer and their new braf. They are pretty good
Available Apirl 1st 2021...what if?
Pissed. Ridgid took a huge step back.
Ryobi has the air turn knob on there brad gun to
I wonder if the battery will have 21700 cells?
Only the 8.0 will
Grrrr. I just bought a Dewalt grease gun. Only tool I own thats not a Rigid
Lol, that happens to me all the time too
Me too! It works good though!
Looks like the new batteries are dropping the Bluetooth connectivity that the Octane ones had...
Pretty sure they went next door to Milwaukee for the tech 🤔
Pretty positive they live in the same house known as TTI...
Yo TRZ!
Amos!!!!!
Cool
Honestly I'm kinda pissed that half the tools are downgrades. There's a reason why people bought so much gen5x stuff. Normals sized tools with decent power. But no now we have tools that should be 12 volt kicking out tools and getting them discontinued.
My thoughts exactly. The new hammer drill has half the power of the old Octane and the biggest battery is now 8Ah instead of 9Ah. Moving in the wrong direction..
I have a full set of Ridgid Octane and I'm regretting it now, wish I had gone for Milwaukee (but my bank account disagrees lol)
I thought Octane was suppose to be the ultimate guess I'll give them to my grandson
You forgot the 6 1/2 saw.
I got 21 degree framing nailer costed me 550 and didn't even come with a carring case or bag wtf
Some of these tools are a slight step down from the octane. Some are an upgrade. Wonder why this is happening
I think they are trying to bring the size down which is good.
@@ToolReviewZone the high torque impact wrench looks about the same size as the hight torque octane that came out last year. The octane is 1500 ft lbs nut busting and the new one is 1300 ft lbs nut busting. Hopefully they succeed because I am a ridgid fan.
@@ckcuev don't think I used the high torque, but that interesting. Thanks for the info on this👊👊👊
a grease pump and a few nailers, and nothing else is new. Just same shit that looks different. I'd be excited about the nailers if they didnt' weigh as much as a boat anchor.
So I can purchase a battery by itself with a Lifetime warranty?
Yes
@@ToolReviewZone UNLESS Rigid has changed their LSA Policy, one CANNOT register ANY Ridgid Battery for the "LSA" apart from being purchased in "Kit" form. One would still get the standard "3 Year Warranty", but I personally feel that this is very "sneaky" on Ridgid's behalf, especially as the overwhelming majority of the "Kit" batteries are of the very low Amp-Hour variety! I would however LOVE to be WRONG on this, and hear that Ridgid is now allowing their "solo" battery purchases to be covered by the LSA!
They changed it. Everything is now covered under the LSA
@@ToolReviewZone That's FABULOUS NEWS if its correct! Now, they just need to "tell" their official website about it, as not only do I not see their new tools listed, but their solo battery offerings are still showing the "3 Year Warranty" with NO MENTION WHATSOEVER of them now being covered by their LSA.. Thanks for the (hopefully) encouraging news!!
My or may not have just filled my pants...
Max output tools
Ridgid
Corded tools
12 volt line.
Also this comment sucks its a pain in the but to make memes with a keyboard...
Why Ridgid not honoring lifetime Guarantee to new equipment bought from Amazon?
They are third party sellers and I believe will only honor the warranty from the Home Depot. Same as Milwaukee I believe
That hat don’t hide that hair line I’m scared of growing more
😆🍻🍺😊
YES!1!1!!1!1! IM LOSING MY S**T HOLY F**K
Hahahaha 🤣👊🤣
Ridgid came out with more drills/impacts. Barely anything really new, just lower powered versions of what's already offered. C'mon Ridgid stop announcing new versions of the same tools.
Right
I can't stand the Milwaukee and Dewalt tools that my hands are too big for. Ridgid making their tools smaller puts them in the same category. Tools aren't toys.
One hook me up with a link? Having a little trouble finding it
Hey love your videos you do ridgid right
Thanks Luis 👊👊👊
