Used to ride in a few groups. Got tired of the numpties and egos. Now found riding solo practically everywhere and blissfully happy. Occasionally tag on to others whilst out for a blast. The best way to ride for me 👌

You are so right, there was always someone who would show off, always someone day dreaming and someone who didn’t know where we were going, the potential for calamity was huge…. It’s solo or +1 for me

Never ride in groups now . Seen too many accidents . I ride alone or with my son . That way I stay safe and enjoy the ride rather than watching others take chances and hit the tarmac . Enjoy your rides mate but do keep right way up !

Enjoyed your video mate glad the rider was ok.
I used to ride with a group but lost my bottle with all that now looking back we did some daft things and got away with it but at 62 I would rather enjoy the ride at a pace I am happy with either on my own or with a trusted mate.
    Ride safe

Hi there. Good vid. I go to squires 3 times a week. I only live 3 miles away. For over 50 years now. Had a 1400 in 2002 when they were still being sold in large numbers. Great bike but very heavy & a handfull. My other was a GXSR 1000 which was so different to ride. Now in old age have just sold the 1200s Multistrada & come down to a BMW st800. Much slower but lighter for me now. Thanks for sharing. I think there is a few video's on my channel of squires & ride outs. Given you a sub.

Riding in a group takes discipline, skill, and common sense. Sadly there's always one who does not have these requisite skills. For this reason I *never* ride in a group.

Feel for the guy who had the incident, glad he was ok 👍🏻, was that last Saturday, called at squires myself around midday. Agree that the prices have shot up but still a decent place to meet up and watch the variety of bikes roll in.

Great video, shame about big lad coming off hope he’s on the mend. I must say I’m surprised at how many advise against riding in groups, with intercom and a bunch of ya it’s a rate laugh (in summer!) and the roads this time of year can catch anyone out if your unlucky enough not to have eagle vision for oil, mud, quarry dust mixed with water all sorts of slippery fun out there

Lone wolf is the safest bet.
Went out for a ride with a group of local riders, riding a road that they all said they knew I crested a hill only to find three of them stopped on a sharp right-hand bend, leaving me with two options, take the corner and pray they stay still or look for a soft spot and scrub off as much speed as possible before leaving the road.
I did very little damage to the bike, and was more pissed off that I'd even gone out with them.

+1 to all the comments about riding in a group, particularly one where you you don't know any of the riders or the capabilities. I'm amazed when I see some groups out that seem to want to follow right up each others chuffs, crazy when most bikes are able to close a gap in seconds if required, leave acres of space people then you can ride your own ride. I often also often see riders that don't seem able to think for themselves and do that overtake just because the person in front of them has. The other issue is that you, are course, limited to following the route the group take (witness the boring looking roads in your vid) when of course if it's just you then you can change your route to suit traffic conditions, weather, your mood, etc I'm not saying all group rides are like that but I've seen enough to know that riding solo or with one or max two others that I know very well is my strong preference. Stay safe all

Almost guaranteed that you go out in groups of 6 or more early in the season someone bits the dust, cold roads slightly slippery one brakes and someone else in line locks up and goes down. It's a pity just glad not any serious injuries. 😢

It's easy done as the previous comment says, 1st March time you always hear someone has died or is seriously injured, the roads are in terrible condition, cold, greasy, slurry, diesel, gravel, potholes, cagers, sadly the Golden age of Motorcycling like many things in life has gone.
