I am going to wait until after Christmas to make this as I believe my daughter is getting me a Kitchen Aide for Christmas (big secret). Previously through the years I have burned out 4 mixers.. Also I have the same pressure cooker you have. Was my mother's. Lost the lid along the way. As a teenager (many many moons ago) I thought I would make potatoes in the pressure cooker. Not really knowing what I was doing, I opened the lid, it flew off, hit me in the shoulder and potatoes all over kitchen ceiling. Never used one since but kept the pot for making candy etc. Look forward to more recipes.
I sure do hope that you get the KitchenAid for Christmas! They are absolutely great mixers. If you will be sure to cook your syrup to 268 to 270° your candy will turn out fine. Your story about the pressure cooker is too funny, you’re very lucky you didn’t get hurt really bad when that incident occurred. It’s a nice heavy pot and does very well for cooking the syrup for the candy. Please let me know when you make it, how it turns out for you. I hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.🥰
Oh my gosh!!!! I absolutely LOVE divinity and especially with lots of nuts!! I was actually making that for friend that had ordered it for she and her daughter. She called this morning and Saudi’s was the best I had ever made!☺️
This certainly looks good Bee! I made the praline candy today. Now girl that is deadly, I had to have a long talk with myself about how you don't get one every time you walk into the dining room! I can see divinity being the same way. Do you toast your pecans for the pralines or the divinity. So now I will add these to my Christmas baking list. Looks like I will be wearing stretchy pants for a while. Take care.
That is HILARIOUS Cindy!!!! No, I do not toast the nuts. I put them in raw. I know just what you mean about the pralines! I have 1 left. I can't stay out of them. I have given several to different friends to keep me from eating them all. I made the divinity for someone else, so I don't have it around or I would be eating it too!!! I will be making some just for my Christmas table though. Glad you liked the pralines. Let me know if you need more pecans!! Take care!!!
This is my absolute favorite candy. I only get it at Christmas so I really enjoy them. I'm sending this to my Mama because I want to see if she does something different, she says hers won't turn out in the humid weather.
OMG!!!! You haven’t lived until you eat divinity!! But, you might not care for it…..it’s very sweet! I am so excited about my subs!!! Now I need to get my watch hours up!!! Thanks Johnny!!! And thanks for the beautiful Christmas card!!
Will try yours… I did a divinity recipe that called for 3 cups sugar, half cup Karo, and 2/3 water egg whites vanilla , no salt it didn’t turn out to good .
I absolutely love divinity. And I also make it with black walnuts. When I would go to Branson, I would buy Black Walnut Brittle. It didn't look like peanut brittle, but it was clear with the walnuts. I would love if someone could tell me how to make it. I enjoyed your video and I will be watching again. God Bless
Thank you for watching Vicky! I may research and see if I can find a recipe for black walnut brittle. I have some nuts in my freezer. We have black walnut trees on some property that we own in North Carolina so I may have to give that a try… Sounds really good, I have an elderly friend who loves divinity with black walnuts. I usually always make mine with pecans. Hope you had a great Christmas and thanks for the comment.🥰
Excellent tutorial! I’m going to try this. It’s been many years, I think I made it once. You make this look so easy. I will follow your instructions, well & thoroughly explained. Thank you Beebah 🥰
Thank you Viola!! It’s really easy to make. Just make sure you cook your syrup to a brittle stage or it won’t set up. Let me know how it turns out for you!🥰
Hey Beebah! I found your channel by searching specifically for Divinity recipes. I have an old family recipe that has not worked for me. I tried your recipe once and forgot to add the salt to the egg whites, unfortunately. I knew something wasn’t right when I tasted it and immediately knew I had forgotten the salt. When I stored the saltless divinity, I stored it in a gallon size bag. The divinity became gooey when stored this way. How do you store yours? I am thinking the gallon bag isn’t the way to go. I will be remaking this next week, and will add salt this time! I look forward to watching more of your videos! Merry Christmas! 😊
Hi Lori!! I usually store mine in a zip lock bag or a Rubbermaid container. I’ve never had an issue with mine becoming gooey. Was it firm when you spooned it up? Make sure you cook your syrup to about 270*. It has to be at a brittle state when you pour it into your egg whites or it won’t set up. I am so happy to have you join my channel!!! I hope you will find my recipes appealing and tasty!! I am very honest when I make something. If I don’t like it, I say so. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and I look so forward to hearing from you again!! 🥰
Thank you Debbie! That would certainly be wonderful! Divinity is sooo good!!! It’s really sweet, but I absolutely love it. I make it every year, and have for as long as I can remember.
My Aunt would always tint her light green and pink at Christmas…all us kids couldn’t wait for her make it!❤
It is so delicious!!! I just absolutely love it!!😋🥰

Thank you for the feedback! I will try again and see how it goes. I only cooked the syrup to 260, which may have been the issue! Stay tuned!
@@GraceLifeCounseling I can hardly wait!!!!! I hope it turns out good for you!!!
I thought I remember you making Divinity before. I have never eaten it. I hope you get your watch hours soon so you can get monetized.
