- October 18th 2010 marks the release of 'Letters Home' (single) by The Soldiers. The track features lyrics inspired by the last letter home of soldier Tony (Neil) Downes and proceeds from the sales of the digital track will be donated directly to The Downes Family. 'Letters Home' is taken from the album of the same name released October 25th 2010 on Rhino UK.

How can you not llike any of these songs the money raised goes to OUR MEN who spend their xmas fighting someone elses war .. and dont get to see their newborns!!!! so if you do notr like it please dont comment because so much hard work goes into raising money for our men. This song is so emotional, my son has just come back from his 2nd tour of duty in afghanistan I'm so glad he's home safe but that doesn't stop me from thinking about those still out there, the ones that will be going there all their families and especially the ones who haven't come home and their families, I'll carry on praying for you all
This song makes me cry it's amazing and the words are so meaningful a thought for each and every one of our fallen troops, stay safe guys wherever you may be xx
regardless of colour,nationality, sexuality or class this song is beautiful regardless of the connection behind the song. Times of death, grief and loss are times for people to but there differences behind them. Realise life is too short so stop bickering and live it.

My husband Joe and I lost his nephew Lançe Sergeant Chris Casey of 1st Battalion Irish Guards at 27 in Iraq. A dreadful time for all of Joe's family, rest in peace Chris with love from Joe and Sue

@capper342 Can you not generalise please. I have a lot of friends in the Army and one in the Air Force. I am Indian and intend to join the British Army as soon as I finish university. This is a very touching song and I have liked the video

@brawlass Not really. I have family and friends who are in the army too. I still think this song is tasteless, it feeds on emotions without giving a solution. Others are not so lucky no and I share this sorrow for their family and friends. However I also feel pain for all the innocent civilians killed all across the world by British and American troops. People tend to be more ignorant of this. And I just felt this song makes the whole thing a joke. I am allowed to state my opinoin.
I was 21 know what like to write your own will as soldier thank goodness it never was read or my letter home just in case to be mailed home if I got killed

as ever a FAB song,The military will need every penny it can get with the Goverment cuts.maybe we should send the goverment out and see how they manage with not having the right equipment to get the job done safely....

THAT is not the reason for it. I have to wonder about your 'innocent civilians' comment - and in turn your actual real thoughts for OUR troops. However, I do not wish to hear your thoughts on this as your comment said enough. Read the posts above. I am not the only one questioning your post.

@swimsuitissue123 you are very ignorant to the family and extended family of our proud troops. The target audience as you put it is no such thing. My brother fought in Iraq recently, I was very lucky to get him home in one piece. Others are not so lucky. However, we all feel the pain of those brave men and women who do not return alive. I will support these guys in their music. They raise money through their music which may I add is very close to their hearts as serving soldiers. SHAME ON YOU
