    These exercises have really helped strengthening my knees. I am starting to learn badminton and was coming in with a knee injury. What I realized is I had to strengthen muscles around the knee to give it better support. Thank you!

I have this issue on my dominant arm the last time i played badminton (as a beginner), After the game I felt like it was swelling and when I woke up the next day there was a bruise at my upper arm. Was it because i was hitting with my racket with a wrong position? Will appreciate your advice.

    There is nothing much you can do for you knees directly.. but:
    1. loose weight if you are over...
    2. Dont over train.
    3. Strengthen your quads, Glutes, and other leg muscles so that maximum load is borne by them.
    4. Invest in High quality badminton shoes with right amount of cushioning.
    5. Work on your FOOTWORK and technique.. Don't always jump and smash.
    6. Lastly get a patella/knee brace if you have unstable knee or are experiencing pain..
    7. Cold compress on knee, ankle, elbow and shoulders after playing each day works wonders.
    All the best with your play.

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  4 года назад +1

      I would always recommend playing in better surfaces other than cement to take care of your knees and lower back. However, i did train in cement with the national team for awhile, maybe i was just lucky not to have had any major injuries and only a sprain. So depending on how strong your body can take it but ofcourse i would rather have better options if there are options... 😁🏸

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  4 года назад +1

      It’s great to know that you play Masters Nationals!! With regards to your knee, i will recommend the wall squats from this video everyday but pls do try it first and its not suppose to hurt ur knee. Squat higher first then slowly work your way for a lower squat when you feel stronger. Do you ice your knee after you play? I hope so because that has also helped me a lot when i feel something with my knee. As for drills, dont do much of it because its gonna tire & wear out your knee the wall squats should strengthen it, then your practice play (i assume is heavy and fast paced) would be enough and just ice after every play. 😁🏸

      Pls see a doctor, i am not an expert with injuries and what i share will be based on experiences but if u want a more specific help, its the doctor or physical therapist who can assess your condition and help u better😁🏸
