I’m so surprised you don’t love fall! Especially since your personal aesthetic is so cozy and rich. I struggled with seasonal depression until I did a deep dive into hygge and that’s helped me cope so much!
Thanks for the suggestion because I need all of the help I can get 😂 I know of hygge but I've never been very intentional about embracing it so if it worked for you I'll definitely give it a chance.
I feel so lucky to have found you as I work to decorate our home. I’ve watched almost every single video and appreciate your take and input. You’ve given me such great inspiration. Thank you for all you share ❤
Thanks for being real that your space is a unique take on fall vibes and overcoming your least (or second to least) favorite season. Also, I didn’t know the mod podge tip and found that useful too.
Oh yay, I'm glad it was new to someone! I think it's such a good one, especially because I love buying Etsy prints. It's a small detail that really elevates them. Thank you for watching 😊🫶🏼
I adore Fall. As I get older, the heat of the summer is less appealing to me, and the thought of apple pie, changing leaves, cool crisp air, and cozy nights on the couch get me so excited. I wish I could make a Fall convert out of you! 😊
Okay YES! on Gilmore girls I tried to rewatch it a year or two ago and was like 👀 wait is Lorelai lowkey narcissistic? Like why does she actually think everything revolves around her? I feel you girl I feel you.
I hated all of the characters on gilmore girls but i pushed through. Still hated the show when i finished but it did give fall vibes and i almost rewatched it this year 😂
The nostalgic part of me is crushed that you don't love Gilmore Girls but the part of me that goes to therapy regularly because of being parentified, I agree with your analysis of the show! LOL.... Now onto the decor, I loooove the moody English vibe your coffee nook carries, well done! The scalloped burnt orange candle you have is my kind of autumn...Subtle, feminine and warm. Inspiring me to dig out my fall items and re-use them in new ways! Loving the content and your realness.
@@dahlianclewien9348 you have a good point. Next time I see my therapist I’m telling her that she ruined Gilmore Girls for me 😂 And thank you! I tried 😅
I am on board with skipping all the cold days and jumping right back into the heat. Are the trees beautiful in the fall? Yes. But I hate the cold. Unless I’m cozying up to the wood stove. But then I don’t want to go outside.
Living in Jersey all my life I guess I’m used to winter and early darkness. It seems natural to me to lean into that Amber lamplight. A cozy throw. Candles in the window all winter. You can do this!!
My whole house Inswear is fall all year round dark brown, dark in general, wood burning stove, in the country by cornfield, green, burgundy, dark art, oh plaid. Haha made me laugh thinking about fall and I’m like oh well that’s our year round decor
As a Fall lover, I think it's my duty to maybe help reframe the idea of fall in your mind... Because I can completely understand not liking fall if all you associate it with is the.. *ahem*.. "Live, Laugh, Love" style of Hobby Lobby-esque decor... HOWEVER, there is so much more to Fall than that. I'm a person who has learned to live seasonally. Every season has different gifts. You don't need to go out and buy chinsy fake bright orange leaf garlands and hay bales to decorate for fall. For me, in my home, I only ever use dried florals (i.e. wheat, cotton, reeds, pinecones, hanging dried herbs) for fall and winter to keep it feeling less "cheap". It feels much more authentic. My home also has a lot of earth tones, so I made a bunting out of earth tone felt that I hang for fall. You can also decorate your home with ACTUAL, REAL squashes and pumpkins.. Like I said before. I think a BIG problem with the commercial side of fall is that it has lost it's authenticity. But knowing you have a love of seeds and garden theming from your other video, I would totally lean into that and look at the crops that are in season! It is the season of harvest after all... Acorn squash for instance is a nice dark moody green that would pair nicely with your decor! A RUclipsr that I love that uses natural seasonal elements in her home is Quiet in the Land! Check her out for maybe some.. outside of the norm inspo - - - P.S., I hate Gilmore Girls lol
Finally someone said what I always thought about Gilmore Girls. That is one of the unhealthiest tv mother/daughter relationships yet it gets touted as cool & something to aspire to. How is your mom acting like a teenager, while the actual teenager is the mature “adult” figure ok? Lorelai is also a horrible daughter to her own parents. She gets pregnant at 16, runs away and cuts off all contact with her parents until the day she needs money. I fail to see what’s to like about her
Not sure if this is your vibe but I started adding round and shaped frames to my gallery wall and it’s made a huge difference as far as being interesting and collected but still cohesive. I still get the same color pallet but weird shapes and sizes are the key imo. Also, totally agree re Gilmore girls.
I love the idea of switching out art to match the seasons, it’s underrated. Becca, you don’t hate Fall, you hate Oklahoma lolol. PS: This video reminded me of the “Do she got Djibouti? Shidu” meme.
@@rebeccasplace it’s a stupid meme about when we wonder whether someone’s got a booty…in this case, she/you do. Sounds extra stupid when I write it out. Btw my house made it in one of Nick Lewis’ videos!! It’s his most recent video, my house is the Midcentury home with green tile fireplace…go check it out!
Hello, I enjoy all the seasons but I began to understand that I don't have to spend money. with what I have i will decorate. I don't really like decorating with pumpkins, but I do it for the ones that like them, and so they have an idea, but I enjoy going little by little and now I feel better and very me 😊 try with an oval frame sometimes all the same styles don't look good 😉 but it looks pretty , bless 🤗
Well I like your gallery wall…personally I like things more symmetrical. The tapestry picture looks out of place to me. I think that side is needing a tweak. Love your channel!!
I can’t watch Gilmore girls either! They talk to fast I don’t know it just bothers me the whole show. I have tryed to watch it many times when I can’t find anything thing else to watch. But watching your channel love it we have similar looks and likes.
That is a lovely nook. Sometimes I can’t decide which season I hate most. Also, did you add that dark green board and batten yourself? Considering some for my new bedroom in my new h9me, but then again am sick of decorating…. Just remember, the earth will go around the sun. Summer will return.
I did! You can see how I did it in my first coffee nook makeover. But I did it in a renter friendly way so it isn't the ideal method. If you own your home I'd definitely do it the traditional way with a nail gun. It's really not too bad though! Just bit time consuming. And that's a great little reminder for me this season, I might put it on a sticky note for myself. 🤍
Hi Becca I enjoy watching your channel. Get rid of the spooky girl’ Halloween is evil and you are too good and clever to just follow the stupid pagan trends.
We used to feel down about fall but now see it as hygge. Not gloomy but relaxing. Cloudy is now cozy. 😂it really works! It's relaxation season.😊
Love that reframe!
I never knew about this modpodge hack! Brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
