@@CorynthianLeather yeah, it's definitely the best album since for we are many! its melodic, but instrumentally heavy like their old stuff. the band has done a good job returning to their roots. Oli will be badly missed though :(!

@@noisemakerstudios5540 his solos were so unique, he always created leads that fit perfectly with the songs. Two Weeks, Six, Catalyst, This Calling, The Last Time... so many memorable solos. He will be missed, but his music will live on forever. RIP Oli
Oli is a legend, but ATR hasn't made anything more than mediocre since For We Are Many. This song is just more of the same mediocrity. It is back to the uninspired, mindless shredding of A War You Cannot Win, with just a small glimpse of Oli's old passion around the 2:20 mark.
I would rather listen to literally any song on any of their other albums up to and including For We Are Many, even their cover of Believe in Nothing, and I fucking HATE Nevermore. At least it sounds like it took more than 10 minutes to write.
I don't blame Oli for any of that, I'm pretty sure Phil is the root of the problem. Inexplicable that almost everything they release is trash, yet Oli would still have unrelated solos/lessons that still sounded just as good as when they were actually still metalcore.

RIP Oli Herbert. My thoughts are with you guys in this difficult time. Oli was one of the few to get me more into extreme guitar playing and way heavier music. He always slung my favourite guitar models; The Ibanez Xiphos and the Jackson Warrior!

These new songs are awesome regardless if it's not what people want. All That Remains had always tried to evolve and people didn't like it. At least they were never stale.

Beasty Sebastian by releasing radio rock friendly generic music? By limiting Oli’s technical style and dumb down the instruments? I never wanted fall of ideals 2, I wanted a band who were in my opinion still creating good music with Overcome, the last 3 albums for me were intolerable. That’s just an opinion, just as you stated yours.
That's in Part true though.
I liked bits and pieces of AWYCW and TOoF but Madness was intolerable for the most part. Overcome and For We Are Many had more radio sounding moments but they were still good. Madness just sounded like they were trying to jump to the FFDP camp.
Rest in Peace, Oli. Not a huge fan of All that Remains, but their songs have some really solid guitar work.

They are very underrated. They would be a bigger band if they toured a lot but demon hunter isnt a full time gig for the band. They record and release an album every 2-3yrs and probably tour a couple months in each album cycle.
It’s hard to find Demon hunter fans...... I only know about hem because a friend showed me but they truly are amazing and underrated

This is awesome and RIP Oli... He was one of the best metal guitarists. He could write some of the heaviest and most melodic riffs I've ever heard. A lot of times it's one or the other in metal, but he mastered both.

I'm an old school Slayer fan. Saw them live in West Germany around 1986. Never heard of these guys until I read Oli's obit tonight. Wow. My loss all these years! These guys are simply bad-ass. What a great guitar sound.

When I was teenage they are my favorite band I haven't listen their songs for years.. lately some lyrics stuck in my mind that I can't recall what it is.. When I open youtube yesterday, the song "this calling" just pop up in my mind and I came to know and rediscovere them I just can't stop listening to their songs.. all those memories just hit me.
