Yes, but there are good artists today, its just that some don't put their heart and soul into their music and just churn out songs that will only be popular for a while

Dear torderamusic…Yep, I apologize for being SO LATE to The Party 🥳….however…am EXTREMELY HAPPY I made it 😎 Well done here, well done!! Thank you and pray you are well!
The best pop songs (excluding the Beatles) of the 60s, very subjective! Sugar, Sugar -Archies Venus - Shocking Blue (recorded Dec '69) Spirit In the Sky - Norman Greenbaum (recorded Late '69) Everlasting Love - Love Affair In The Ghetto - Elvis Georgy Girl - Seekers The Real Thing - Russell Morris (Australian) Gimme Some Lovin' - Spencer Davis Group Tears Of A Clown - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles These boots are made for walking - Nancy Sinatra Plus umpteen other tracks. '60s was a great era!
Good list but you have made lists with Walk on By by Dionne Warwick but play Say a Little Prayer. My top 10 1) Sitting On The Dock of the Bay 2) Respect 3) Good Vibrations 4) Louie Louie 5) You've Lost That Loving Feeling 6) Blowing in the Wind 7) Yesterday 8) Light My Fire 9) Like a Rollin Stone '10) Satisfaction
"This is a list of the best songs of the 60's decade (1960 to 1969)". It is good that you clarify it because although they are very representative of the 60's, in reality they are not ordered by their size of success. And if they are the best, I think one that definitely deserves recognition is "Eloise" by Barry Ryan, an excellent song from the 60's that is very underrated.
Im 17 and i love the 60s, My favourite artist from the 60s: Jimmy hendrix, animals, Beatles, Marvin gaye, James brown, doors, Bob Dylan, aretha, the rolling Stones, jannis joplin and the who
I do. I also like some songs today but i think the music back then was way better and just amazing! And i know some other friends of mine who were also born 2000 and they think so too.
I'm 19 and can honestly say I prefer this music. The older generation had such more talent and happy songs. All songs nowadays are sex and drugs it's just meh
He’s not! He NEVER wrote any original song example blue Swede shoes was written by Carl Perkins another example hound dog written by jerry lee Lewis! He’s NOT the king! The Beatles are!
+freeguy77 I like modern music too but it literally has no emotion or meaning to it. I would choose 40's , 50's , 60's and early 70's music over modern music any day. (Btw don't call me a "special snowflake" just because I prefer the classics over modern music.)
One glaring omission! She was the female face of The British Invasion knocking off both The Beatles & The Rolling Stones to win The Grammy Award for Best Rock N' Roll song in 1964, Downtown. If you were alive, male and breathing in 1964 you had a crush on Petula Clark, John Lennon's Favourite Female Singer.
The Best Songs: Help, Let it be, A hard days night, Ticket to ride, maxwells silver hammer, Hey jude, Cant buy me love, Something, Hello Goodbye, I want to hold your hand We can work it out, Yellow Submarine, Nowhere man, Here comes the sun, love me do, she loves you and more......
Can you imagine hearing "Venus In Furs" (Velvets) when you were 13? I laughed and laughed and said "Uh-oh, what will Cousin Brucie say?" It was awesome, but I fell in love with "I'll Be Your Mirror".
Much of my favorite music is from this era, but I still have so much more to explore. It was a special period for music. Get the original records if you can! If you can't do it or don't have the desire to, RUclips is a fantastic resource for the sounds!
Great list, would probably swap a few of those for "Heartbreaker" and "Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin, swap one for The Beatles "Come Together", and maybe add another Doors songs or 2, but I'd say I agree with about 90% of the list, good choices. :)
Aw, nothing ever changes, these songs are always the best. What other decade but the Sixties has mostly good songs? Not one other. But you really have to have been there to appreciate the excitement of hearing sounds that no one ever dreamed of before. If you weren't there, well, you're missing a dimension.
Nothing by The Association,The Buckinghams, The Cascades, The Crystals, Dusty Springfield,The Four Seasons, The Lettermen, The New Colony Six, Peter, Paul & Mary, Petula Clark, The Seekers,The Turtles, The Ventures, The Vogues and The Young Rascals just to name a few ?? Next time you put together a list of 60s songs, lighten up on The Beatles & The Rolling Stones and give some other groups a bit of airplay ....
All are really good but each person has their own personal favorite. I cannot say that I have one recording that I like more than another but many of this selection I would change in sequence.
Greatest Songs of the 60's - Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto, If I Can Dream, It's Now or Never, Little Sister, Return to Sender, Mess of Blues, Reconsider Baby, Stranger in My Own Home Town, Big Boss Man, High Heel Sneakers, Hard Knocks, Tender Feeling, Are You Lonesome Tonight, Power of My Love, Without Love, Bossa Nova Baby, Can't Help Falling in Love, Little Egypt, Viva Las Vegas, Little Less Conversation, Puppet on a String, Please Don't Stop Loving Me, It Feels So Right, Run On, So High, Tiger Man, Surrender, They Remind Me Too Much of You, Rocka Hula Baby, Flaming Star, It's a Wonderful Life, Follow That Dream, Slowly But Surely, My Babe, Baby Anything You Want Me To Do - All by ELVIS.
my top 10 10. The Wanderer 9. sunshine of your love 8. for what its worth 7. the sound of silence 6. my girl 5. love me two times(left out) 4. the weight 3. house of the rising sun 2. what becomes of the broken hearted(left out also) 1. Bad moon rising (they left out wtf)
Yardbirds, Iron Butterfly, Nashville Teens, GrassRoots, Janis Joplin? I know Rolling Stones and Beatles were huge in the 60s, but TWO bands shouldn't take up 19 slots in a top 100. Have some variety!
i am 14 and all in my class say that i crazy because i like the music of the 60er and 70er and 80er not the new songs sry that my english isn`t good i am germany
sider Quartz I'm 15 now but I used listen to oldies to classic rock but I still listen to them one time in front of a class I sand a classic rock song and everyone liked it
everyone has their own thoughts of the best songs from the 60s and whether you agree or disagre we need to respect the individuals choice and actually thank them for taking the time to post their selection. Personally, I love to hear all songs from the 60s so well done toderamusic for your choice. not necessarily all my choice of favourites but who am I to criticise another persons choice?
Silvio, all the Beach Boys biggest hits were in the 1960s, the first being in 1962. Speaking of which, no I Get Around, Help Me Rhonda or In My Room! Hard to quibble with most of these songs, but the order is another thing altogether. Nice to listen to, though.
Good list, though everyone will have a different order. "Please Please Me" is the song that introduced The Beatles to the world, and it perfectly captures the raw energy and the simple joy of making music that marks the group's early works. It deserves to be much higher than 96. I was happy to see "A Change Is Gonna Come" ranked so highly. It's a beautiful song with an important place in history. I realize it's a highly subjective list, but no "Rock and Roll" by the Velvet Underground? That's unforgivable. And no Hollies at all? Hmmm. I would have included "Poor Side of Town" by Johnny Rivers, one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded, but that's just me. Could have snuck it in instead of the fifth Jimi Hendrix song.
The Animals - #89 - We Gotta Get Out of This Place The Animals - #46 - House of the Rising Son I'm surprised two were listed, usually one or none listed on some of these lists. Hmmmm....just as I figured, most songs by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Hey they were great, but so were a lot of other singers and bands during the 1960s. Bob Dylan #1......okkkkkkk. LIST OF THE ANIMALS, ET AL SONGS: The Animals came out with House of the Rising Sun in the summer of 1964. First trip to the U.S. in September 1964. Their list of songs: Club A Go Go - 1963 (written by Eric Burdon) - The Animals I'm Crying - 1963 (written by Eric Burdon & Alan Price) - The Animals Baby Let Me Take You Home - 1964 - The Animals House of the Rising Sun - 1964 (re-written by The Animals) I'm Almost Grown - 1964 - The Animals (originally Chuck Berry song) Boom Boom - 1965 - The Animals (originally John Lee Hooker song) It's My Life - 1965 - The Animals We Gotta Get Out of This Place - 1965 - The Animals Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - 1965 - The Animals Bring It On Home To Me - 1965 - The Animals (originally Sam Cooke song) Don't Bring Me Down - 1966 - The Animals See See Rider - 1966 - The Animals You're On My Mind - 1966 (written by Eric Burdon & Dave Rowberry) San Franciscan Nights - 1967 (written by Eric Burdon & The Animals) When I Was Young - 1967 - (written by Eric Burdon & The Animals) Monterey - 1967 (written by Eric Burdon & The Animals) To Love Somebody -1968 - Eric Burdon & The Animals (originally Bee Gees) Spill The Wine - 1970 - Eric Burdon & War Spirit - 1971 - Eric Burdon & War The Night - 1983 (written by Eric Burdon & John Sterling) - The Animals Many albums since then with Eric Burdon Until Your River Runs Dry cd - 2013 - Eric Burdon
It's so sad because there are so many talented people and smiling faces in this list and people aren't like that anymore. I feel like I was born too late :D
Nothing compares to the amazing days and music of the 1960s..
Mary Kate Daniiher except the 70's

Yardbirds, Iron Butterfly, Nashville Teens, GrassRoots, Janis Joplin?

My Girl at 47? This is criminal!
THE BEATLES
YASSS GIRL!

Not sure where this list came from but I kinda like it!
Stand by me at fifty three what a shambles! Quality is subjective though! Sixties were an amazing decade
I love the beatles 😍😘😍😘😍😘
