My wife and I decided to get a Tacoma.. did not like my Tundra.. it's gone.
We waited to see the new Tacoma before we made a decision on new or the real deal previous model.
    We waited to late.
Absolutely did not like the new Tacoma.. and
The dealer was out of the 23s and the used Tacomas were at new car prices.
I will have to be satisfied with my 5 speed manual gearbox 2000 4 Runner with 235K miles and no issues.
After 12 Toyotas.. they have lost me with lower quality and 0bsecne greed .
4 Cyl turbo in a truck.. sounds like something Chrysler would do.

But the Tundra issue makes the release of this new truck cast in a shadow of doubt on all their technical and manufacturing capabilities. You haven't experienced any issues. Hey Rob i disagree with you . The forth gen has alot of problems . I looked at a 3rd gen with 2000 miles and a 4 th gen new put them side by side. Same exact trucks . TRD. Off road
1 over 9000.00 dollars in price difference .
    2. Fit and finish 3rd gen alot better finish gaps ect.
    3. Engines did not like either one the way the power band was but a tune will take care of that on the 3 rd gen.
    4. Be honest the turbo will not last a fact !!
I could go on but bought the 3rd gen . I bought it for 13,000 less then the 4th gen like i said 2,000 ,miles 😊m it.
Lets say in touch for some years and see what one had the less priblems. OK

Not sure how what you list can be considered as problems?
The 2024 does cost more - not a problem with the truck, just a higher price.
Regarding fit and finish - Not sure what you're talking about?
You don't like either engine - Matter of preference.
Turbo life assumption - No one knows.

A new Ranger or Colorado is just a better value now. A TRD ORP or sport costs 55k. A fully loaded ZR2 is 55k. A Ranger Raptor is only 4k more. Those trucks are TRD pro competition. The Pro is 65k without the mark-ups which are already showing up. Already up to 80k! There's no way to justify it.

When the 3rd gen TRD Pro came out 7 years ago, it started at $42k and odds were it was built in Texas. Today a TRD Pro starts at around $65k, basically doesn't have rear seats and is definitely made in Mexico by people making $2/hour.

Man you disappointed me at first lol. It's like you turned 360 on the Tacoma. Now one thing I agree with you about is that Toyota went with all the bells and whistles because a lot of people have been asking for it. So it's kinda you get what you asked for. Good stuff Rob 👏

Rob!!! I don’t understand people!!! Since 3rd Generation went out many people criticized Tacoma: that it didn’t have luxury, cabin was dated, no technology, small screen, uncomfortable position for front seats, no front passenger seat automaticity, no rear disc brakes, no multilink rear suspension, a dated naturally aspirated engine without torque, that it was no match against the Ford Ranger turbo, it was a slow truck, etc, etc, etc. Toyota fixed it and now they criticized what they ask for!!! Important to highlight 99% of them ARE NOT OWNERS!!! I traded my 2020 TRD SPORT 4X4 and I can’t be happier with my 2024 Blue Crush SPORT PREMIUM. 1,000 miles and cero problems. I want to hear or read in this case those with real problems and who are real owners. Not many people will complaint.

True story Mr Rob! I still cannot wait until I get my new tacoma! Interesting to see what will happen with all the scandals / issues Toyota is having, but don't think they are really worse off than other makers either - people are talking more about the issues w the tacomas and toyota is hard more loudly. I love your truck from what I error seen, the red is beautiful and excited to see what else you do with it

The ride and comfort is so improved

The wide stance, the fact that 33 in. tire will fit right out of the box with no lift, the aggressive front face, the sharp angle exterior lines, the additional head room compared to 3rd gen, the seat position comfort, the smooth and agile ride, the added fuel mileage, the low end torque, the people who show interest when I'm out and about. These are just a few of the reasons I hate the 2024 Tacoma. And don't get me started on how the dealer was able to discount the purchase price.
