What type of pad would you need to pour to install this. If someone could point me towards a resource. I've looked on Rohn's site and there is pad specs for burying tower sections, but I can't seem to find anything for tilt bases. Thanks. Loved the video!

are you using a flux core welder I now much of a welder .is that heavy enough ,I have a flux core welder also. enjoyed the video very much. I think I will try to build the same one Thanks very much

I just use 240 lbs of pure muscle lol(no winch).
I really enjoyed this video and the one showing you putting it to use. I have one question. Why don’t you put the base section all the way to the bottom of the pins and let the plate take the load instead of the bolts? Maybe you explained it and I just didn’t catch it. Great design and fabrication.

@@Robinson-HomesteadI mean the bolts that secure the bottom section of the tower to the pins that you welded to the base plate. Why not have the base section sit all the way down on the plate? Around the 32:00 mark.
I couldn't get it down any further because of the hinge itsself but that probally would have been a better way to build it, thanks for watching.

Be careful with that hardware store threaded rod. That stuff is typically does not carry a strength rating or grade because it is dead soft .

I have two antenna towers one of them is a Telescoping antenna and with a lay down base and is made out of steel tubing like the one you are working on and the other one is made of aluminum with a lay down base the first one is about 60' to 70' tall when raised up and the other one is a one piece mast and I believe it is about the same height maybe a little bit shorter and one rotating head so you can adjust the antenna for the best reception I'm wanting to sale one of them what do you think is a fair price to ask for one. And the are located in southern Nevada

That's a good question I'm not sure.
Very nice build, BUT, (well you know there is always that one comment, lol) the ONLY thing I would have done differently was use ACTUAL Hardened "L" anchors meant for anchoring towers instead of using weaker standard "threaded rod" which is NOT meant to be bent at any angle without compromising strength as they can easily break at the bend and or pull out of concrete if any excessive force is put on the tower latterly, I have seen home made anchors and or studs like these pulled out of concrete in the past.
