  • Riding the trails at Brown Mountain OHV area in North Carolina. The terrain in this place is pretty unreal - huge rock features to go up and down with multiple lines and lots of grip. We had beautiful weather and gorgeous fall colors.
I'm riding a 2022 Husqvarna TE150i and my riding buddies are on a couple KTMs, a Yamaha, a Honda, and a Kawasaki.

I need to check out Brown mountain. Do you ride at Brushy Mountain? That’s my main spot.

I've ridden at Brushy a couple of times and plan to do a lot more in the future. I'm not local to NC, but hoping to spend more time there in the near future.

Brushy has a much better trail network and a track but the dirt quality at Brown is the best! Wet or dry, the traction is consistently good. Decomposing granite as opposed to the clay-based dirt at Brushy.

@@dreamwhileyousleepthat’s something I hadn’t thought about. Been thinking about heading to one of those 2 places.

Very cool ride! What’s your buddies thoughts on his crf250f?

He cruises on that thing, made it up and through everything with no issue.

Awesome! Wife and I had matching xr250’s rode all the mountain trails in the late 90’s early 2000’s, sold them. Son and I bought two cef450x’s in 2008. Just never really liked the bikes, sold mine two years ago.
Just picked up a new crf250f after seeing all the great reviews, pulls like a tractor, suspension was soft and soaks up rock hits like no bodies business etc.
Hope to get up to brown before to much snow and ice falls on the trials.

@@slowridefpv9668 I think the CRF250F is a perfect trail bike for slower technical riding. I think the 450x was designed mostly with desert racing in mind. I wouldn't want to ride one in tight woods at 1st-2nd gear speeds, but they are very popular out west where the terrain is open and you're typically riding much faster. The euro two strokes love the tight woods as well, but are obviously significantly more expensive... you can get two CRF250F's for the price of one KTM or Beta :)

What gear are you in mostly?

It's a 150 so I shift a lot - 1st and 2nd in the technical stuff and 3rd and 4th in the more open on this trail.
