This game blew my six year old mind when it came out. I'd always go to the park and pretend I was climbing the swings chains like they were vines or try to cross from swing to swing like DK JR.
The port visually looks good but my god, the music makes my ears bleed.
Turn Down The Sound's Down
It's funny that donkey Kong jr is mocking the eletric sound lol

Damn too many sound effects
"Fix your dang sound, Atari! Yikes!"
Me: Nah thats good.
Looks similar to the NES version.
The NES version was released two years earlier in 1986; the equivalent Japanese (FamiCom) version goes back to '83.
@@ClassicTVMan1981X so ? the 7800 is tech from 1983, intended to be released in 84 anyway. It got delayed and Atari didn't bother with it almost immediately as their 400 and 800 computer business was keeping them afloat at the time and by 86 Nintendo already won the war
The Atari 7800 version of Donkey Kong jr, it's a pretty good version control pretty well with the joystick controller or the European joypad, sound is not that good but it's because they use the old Tia sound chip that was in the Atari 2600 so that's understandable, probably the reason why it would not sound as good as the NES version, it's easier than the arcade game and the NES version, however the graphics aren't as good as the NES version which is a let-down because,The Atari 7800 is a lot more powerful.
Nice
1987 graphics with 1977 sound
More like... 1983-84 graphics with '77 sound. Atari and GCC worked on this together in 1983 and it was planned to be out in the summer of '84, but Jack Tramiel bought all of Atari except for its video arcade division, so the 7800 was shelved for two years.
Good port despite the 2600 sound
Good game, but terrible sounds.
Crazy sounds
You're terrible
Title Screen 0:01
That vintage sound chip is just weird, and almost never plays music right. Atari did have a sound though........
The Nintendo NES Version looks to me a little sharper & detailed, however I can’t stand the Sound to the Atari 7800 Donkey Kong Jr!!!!!!
Nothing like using a blaring saw wave for the music 🤣 instead of a subtle sine
Nice game

I beated this game at difficulty level 4,it was hard because of the atari joystick, but it did felt like to be a rewarding to accomplish that as it was really hard to do for me back in 2022.phew🤣
Mario not being a hero for once

Bx DuBs Well, then there's Super Mario Land 3. :)

He already got the name by the time the original arcade version of Donkey Kong, Jr. was developed.
What ClassicTVMan1981X said. There's also that fan theory the internet won't let die...
2:40 the smile is cursed
THIS GAME IS 10/10
buen juego, donde mario era un villano.¡ en arcade tiene un sonido muy bueno!
Mom can we get donkey Kong Junior: we have donkey Kong Junior at home: donkey Kong Junior at home:
This should be posted on the 2600 ver.
7800 isnt far off from the arcade, aside from sound.
@@Lightblue2222 The ColecoVision and NES releases are better.
@ClassicTVMan1981X the 7800 is closer to NES than Coleco Vision. The art in itself is nearly the same as NES as where Coleco Vision it's been re drawn.
ear rape
Not bad
If any one else complains about the audio I swear to god
What's your problem ?!
The audio is terrible!! Ma ears bleed
Thats what im here for, just for the music!
@@avalond1193 your ears bleed cuz you suck
