@joesakic91 many years & pounds ago, my army reserve unit did summer camp training at the national guard base named camp parks in dublin, ca. We went to an oakland a's gane, took the BART train under the bay to san fran from oaktown, went to fisherman's warf & caught the ferry boat to alcatraz island. That was a day they rewarded us with before flying back home to louisiana. We were building a new road & training at camp parks. I had a ball, even took a pic inside one of the jail cells at alcatraz island. They said we would be in the jail cells for 5 minutes, we were in that darn thing for 20 minutes 😳😳😲😲😆😆😄😄!! You could hear then hit the switch & the cell doors lock!! It reminded me about how i never want to do something stupid enough that would lead me to end up in a place like that!!

Like it or not the A's were on a deadline. The port had 3 years to get it done and didn't. That's why the MLB keeps saying there was no deal, because the cities own term sheet prevented them from making one. They were legally prohibited from signing off on anything until the port handed down its position. Only once the port made its call, could the city and the A's start final negotiations.
Meanwhile Nevada got shit done in a few months. If Oakland wants expansion like some are kicking around they have to change their processes, the MLB is not going to wait 3 years for bureaucrats in Oakland when other cities put up their bids.

You can continue to be angry, you can continue to tell yourself the city played on part in this. But the reality wont change.
I've been right about the A's and this relocation all the way back in 2021 when all the "experts" and "insiders" were saying Vegas wasn't a serious consideration, that it was "just a bluff".
