I have been curious to know what makes a city or town choose a rotating siren like the Whelen Vortex, instead of a multidirectional siren like the Whelen 2910 when they are in the market for a siren to start up or add to an existing outdoor warning siren system. Both are good options for those who desire "talking" sirens.

I have been wanting to head out to CR for a test for a really long while, last time I was in CR I caught a UP train.
Seems like the 4 activation tones is for warnings...
