I want to feel like you made this one for me! ha. ***edit*** I strongly recommend checking out the new Ignite jams. I don't think the album is out yet, but they have 3 new songs up on this here RUclips, and they have a new vocalist, which can be dangerous, but I think they nailed it with this dude.
Haha theres Beau from Avail walking by at 20:14. Thats rad! I used to live in the west palm beach area in the 2010’s and saw a handful of shows in the area for those few years i was there. Mostly went to see the Supervillains who my band has played with multiple times in Texas over the years. So those hometown shows were always fun gigs to attend. Have always loved other Florida locals like Hot Water Music, Less Than Jake, Against All Authority, and Shyster, Gus, and Blount from St. Pete I believe. I miss living there. Such a rad little tour down memory lane! I enjoyed hearing about it. I also love Avail, wish i could catch a comeback show of theres, and all those punk bands you mentioned. 🍻
Love this type of content. I’m an old punker myself and it makes me misty to think back on all the shows I’ve been to as well. PS Snapcase was on Victory records.
One of my fav shows was a punk band called The Vomit Spots. It was such a blast. I love seeing all the music venues and old flyers. Love the story about the old boom box and such man that brings back memories of the 80s and early 90s. REALLY wish you would play bass for us one day. Glad you had fun! I totally dig this🤘
Thanks for sharing Adam. I didn’t grow up in Florida but I was in the punk scene in Vegas back in 80s and 90s. Makes me think of all the bands I saw out here and tons of local bands. Those were definitely the days.
I used to live in Tampa in the late 90's/early 2000's.. there wasn't a punk scene in Tampa anymore (I had to drive with friends over the bridge to St. Pete to be part of the punk scene)... This week I'm going to Las Vegas and I was wondering if there are any punk clubs there that you might know of?
I lived in Sarasota in the 90's and moved to Orlando in 98. I was more into Hair Metal but loved all types of music and loved going to shows. I remember a lot of these places and remember a lot of the bands you mentioned! I saw Hot Water Music all the time in the day! Thanks for the memories!
We had Respectable Street Cafe in West Palm Beach,Every punk band played there. All,Misfits,Agnostic Front,Skinny Puppy etc.etc.etc. Bad Brains played there,Madball recently played there.I love the Queers, love Screeching Weasel.Dude,so many, many memories.great vlog.
I love hearing where people came from. Not in a million years would I pick a Disneyphile vlogger as an ex rock punk guy, but I love it. Challenging perceptions is a good thing. That was fun
Great vivideo, man...sounds like we lived parallel lives. Mine was outside of Seattle. Mudhoney, Slits, Soundgarden, Melvins, Primus...All back in the mid-90's - Crazy times....
I'm from Tampa and most of the bands I liked were from Seattle (not just the grunge bands). Bands like the dwarves to Sunny Day Real Estate and Mudhoneys. Best music scene EVER.
Another brilliant time of sharing; thank you!....is the music enthusiasm as vibrant now, as earlier?...so many closed venues....But a great look at a wonderful live band night.....??
Hey Adam I was big into the punk and grunge music scenes in Tallahassee FL during the 80's and 90's, and we would travel down to Tampa to see shows. There was also the Cuban Club in Ybor that hosted shows I saw Soundgarden there opening for Voivod, and I saw the Cro-Mags and later Danzig and Trouble playing at Jannus Landing.
Gracelessly aging punk musician here, several yrs your senior, so I was into some of the bands on the fliers you mentioned, like Bad Religion, SNFU, Circle Jerks & Dr. Know, esp way back in the 80's as my son's pops was a singer in an L.A. punk band & knew/played gigs w/them. I also recall liking SOIA for a quick minute in the early 90's & sometimes wore my guy's SOIA knit cap in the winter. I always enjoy the occasional glimpses of your playing years. Happy Holidays to you and yours, Adam! Sharon in NorCal.
Great tour buddy. Played many of shows at these venues myself with SWR. Pegasus was one of the first places I ever played a show. Those were the good all days. Glad you enjoyed the show man wish I could’ve made it out there. Still can’t believe what the state theater has a become. If those walls could talk.
@thedailywoo can almost guarantee the venue you are talking about in st.Pete with the roll up doors was called THE REFUGE. It was so small and had nothing but old hardcore and punk etc. they would even take canned food donations sometimes.
Wow, you took me down memory lane. I played many shows in Ybor, I didn’t know the State Theater was no more, so many good show there. Bigger acts at Jannus for sure. And my sister lives off the Macintosh Rd exit. Great video 👍🏼
Hey Adam did you mention the Vandals at the beginning of this video? My favorite song from them is Euro-Barge. Also I love when you revisit places from you’re past. I do the same thing. I love looking back at all the great memories from my past.
Awesome video with great memories you had! I remember seeing the blood brothers at state theatre as well as a billy Joel tribute. I also went to fubar a couple times. I’m a st Pete native so this was cool to see!
Yes! Saw many shows at The State! Same at Janis, Palladium, Mahaffey. St Pete has changed so much. I live In Brandon now. Don't get over there as often anymore.
You were in Gutter Mouth?! Wow. Tampa Bay is home for me and the 90’s no matter what kind of music was insane then!! Also the St. Pete theater I saw Long Beach Dub Allstars shortly after Bradley passed.
Great video Adam I really enjoyed going down memory lane with you. I saw the Joe Perry Project in 2009 at the state theatre. The Pegasus lounge where your band played in Tampa was a Masters Pizza in the 70s and Next to it at 10006 was MR. B,s hobby shop where my friends and I used to race our slot cars.
Great trip down memory lane my friend! My band last played the Pegasus June 2003! Three days before my son was born and my dad actually went to that show before he passed...Good times!
Cool you mentioned the band Discount! I grew up down in Orlando and a friend had a Discount tape that I ended up recording, listened to that Discount album a lot in the mid 90’s. Ahhh the good old days
I saw Green Day at the Stone Lounge way back in the early 90s. I don't think it was a planned stop of their tour, but they added it on as they were in the area and had a day off. This would be the tail end of their Lookout days. the good old days when you could see these amazing bands at relatively small venues.
Avail, great band!Saw them live in Torino, Italy in the 90s. Satiate still is one of my favorite records! I think I still have a Crumbs 7" somewhere, Shakespeare maybe? Anyway I love your channel, greetings from Italy!
Adam, great content. While you're on a musical journal. Consider stopping in at a restaurant called Rock 'N' Roll Ribs in Coral Springs, Florida. It's owned by the drummer of Iron Maiden Nicko McBrain. FYI, He's been a Christian since the 90s. God bless.
Hey dude I started following you because of the carpetbagger. It's so cool you like punk rock too; I thought the G.G Allin reference a few videos ago was a one off. I'd love to see you check out more punk stuff - Keep it up, I love your content!
Spent many party nights at Ybor back in the 80s & 90s (loved The Masquerade club), and had my bachelor party there too! Also got to see The Ramones at the Cuban Club before Joey died. Thanks for going back to my old stomping grounds!
Ramones also rocked the Homer Hesterly Armory back in the '80s. Tickets were like $12 or so. Nirvana rocked the Masquerade about the same time, I think they were touring with 24-7 Spyz.
Loved this video. My very first show as a young rocker was opening for Texas is the reason and the promise ring! We also played with hot water music and Discount as well!! Nostalgia!!
@@TheDailyWoo they stayed at my house after the show… I just remember her chain smoking outside and asking me if I had anything vegan to eat … I didn’t (at the time) even know what vegan meant 😂
I remember almost all of these places! I played The Refuge on MLK around 1997. I think that's the place you're thinking of if they were still open at your time. Another one that was short-lived in the area was called Song X which started on MLK and moved to a warehouse on the south side for a short time before closing probably early 1998. Lots of good memories in St. Pete. I once threw a dead rat into the mosh pit from the State Theater backstage window. Sorry to whomever that hit. :(
I’m sorry I don’t know any of these band. My era music is 70’s and early 80’s but I truly enjoyed the nostalgia point of this video…Thanks for the memories 👍🏾👍🏾’s
State Theater and Jannus Landing were two of my favorite venues. I saw a lot of good bands there. A little later in life (after I was 21), I would also see quite a few good shows at FUBAR
Great to hear about your music days and some of the bands you followed and it must have been quite the treat to see a band from back in the day putting on a show in 2022 now when it comes to music I’m a music junkie and I can listen to music all day long now back when I was young my music of choice was thrash metal and at that time I would get my music on cassette and vinyl albums but don’t get me wrong I love all kinds of music but lately I’ve been into a station here in SoCal on satellite radio called the bridge that plays classic soft rock hits of the 70s and boy did I love the 70s so easy going and great cars now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you also please be safe out there
Had to comment on the Survival of the fattest experience as we just hit 26 years from that concert. Talk about a life changing experience receiving that cd. Still own it to this day
DUDE.... Adam you are looking fantabulous!!! I was telling my hubby that I can totally tell you lost some weight... congrats 😁 Thank you for your videos..... God bless you 👍🙏🥰
You catch Less Than Jake much over the years? They played the hell out of Florida (from Gainesville). That's my all time favorite band. Have seen them 40 times or so. Figured you crossed paths with them.

the refuge was indeed where artissin stands today. artissin is a graffiti supply store, which is kind of appropriate. they’re aware of the building’s history.
Weight loss is going great!!!! I started about 30 days after you. Your definitely a great inspiration to keep it up cuz u definitely shed some lbs👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ah man, our paths definitely crossed back then. Blue Chair, Stone, Ritz, Jannus, State. The mystery club you were mentioning looked familiar too. I think it was the brick stone building. It would have been one show I seen either there or similar. Small bar setting. Friends band played I recall. The Blue Chair burnt down back when the area was under commercial updates. It must have been a way to get them out of there. I also had a very similar stone lounge story. Sold out Sebadoh show. I had traveled to Athens to see them. A friend with us was under 18 and we decided not to see the show. When they played the Stone I stood outside hoping to get in explaining my story. Right around the time they were to go on someone came out and gave me their ticket as they were leaving. Got lucky there. So cool about your history. I know we had comment chatted about the Orlando venues and the dead milkmen show.
I remember working for local662 when Guttermouth played there about 6 years ago. St Pete was awesome back when Local, Fubar and State would have live music all at the same time
I enjoyed this. I used to go to a lot of shows, different music, different time, different place, but I really get the nostalgia of this. Really takes you back to great times in life.
The liquor store up the road IS The Pegasus. It just moved. They now have a small liquor store up front, but there's still a bar and stage. Same with the Brass Mug. You were actually right around the corner from the new location for both.
I had no idea that you played with Guttermouth, this video made me realize that we played a show together at the Gas Lamp in Des Moines back in 2014. I still wear my t-shirts that Mark was practically throwing away.
"It's not what's behind you . Yet it's what's in front of the individual that should matter most".... I love Green Day, Skillet, Metallic, Winger, Ozzy Osbourne and others. ...Which include Skid Row, Garth Brooks, Wade Hayes and Otis Ray Redding Jr. "From sitting on the dock of the bay"...song fame just to name a few.
I also grew up in the Tampa, St. Pete punk rock scene around the same time. I believe the venue in St Pete was called The Refuge, and I believe it's where those roll up doors are. My voice was also strained the other night seeing AVAIL and Hot Water Music.
Not gonna lie Adam…Im here for the Disney videos and punk videos… FRICK 😭🙌🏼❤️ so rad. Bouncing souls…Causalities…afi…korn not headlining…had no idea there was such a great punk scene in Florida back then. Not surprised though! I missed out on a lot being a bit younger in so cal. But it’s all good. Great footage of the pit ppl don’t circle pit anymore like they used to
We used to host house shows in Auburn, AL, back in the mid 90s and a ton of bands from Tampa/Gainesville/Central Florida used to play there. Hot Water Music played our house in 1995 (other shows with bands from that area included Clairmel, Bombshell, Assuck, Radon, Spoke, Less Than Jake, Vanbuilderass, and I'm sure others). I still have the cassette EP HWM was selling then called "Push For Coin". AVAIL also played there in 1995. I also played a show at the Stone Lounge (also in '95 😂). It sounds like we lived in the same era of "Book Your Own F'n Life" and DIY venues!
You should visit the Florida community of Homeland.. You were close when you were in Fort Meade.... Homeland has a heritage park with lots of old buildings and it has some cool historic cemeteries.. They have a heritage celebration there in the summer..
I used to live in Trampa, holla at the University of South Flarduh! Thanks for the degree a few years ago, won't be back, but what an adventure!! Will live vicariously through you Woo!!!

Something a little different but always trying to mix it up . Was fun to revisit these places
very good sir... Made me remember the venues I use to go to in the 90's up here in MA. Sometimes its nice to reminisce and do a road trip
Great video Adam!! Would love a video of you playing music!!

Always wanted to see Sedadoh , that’s realky cool ! Yea the dead milkmen show was amazing
I remember working for local662 when Guttermouth played there about 6 years ago. St Pete was awesome back when Local, Fubar and State would have live music all at the same time
Great video you took back to my 90's hardcore/ emo days
I enjoyed this. I used to go to a lot of shows, different music, different time, different place, but I really get the nostalgia of this. Really takes you back to great times in life.
Adam, did you ever hang out at Visage in Orlando back in the day? I used to haunt it from '89-'91. Saw the Cure there. Another long-lost great venue.
Yes a bunch of times !
I just saw Winger last month. They still got it!
YOU, Adam, were into Punk Rock?? Thanks for Everything. wishing you PEACE LOVE and Happiness
Great footage of the pit ppl don’t circle pit anymore like they used to
Nothing like those 1990’s - early 2000’s mid tear theaters and all those bands….great memories of AFI growing up in the SF Bay Area….love those guys
Yea man good times ! I bet seeing afi up there at that was awesome . Their home turf
Makes me think about my Punk local days, I also went to many punk shoes
Love Ybor City! The chickens in the parking lots. We saw some great Wrestling shows the last few years at the Orpheum!
I love this. We share similar music tastes. Glad to see you exploring your roots.
