2 years ago, the law that didn't allow to park and sleep was taking down. Look at the actual law, if it is a regular parking space, and there is no sign saying specifically that it is not allowed to park a Van or Motorhome there, it is perfectly legal to stay there for up to 2 days and 2 nights. Next time do not pay the ticket, just show the officer the law and do not pay. Many of them are still thinking that the old law still applies, police are either stupid or corrupt, like in any other country in the world!
It doesn’t help if there are no signs to tell you that your in a non parking area ! We payed we moved on . Hopefully viewers will learn from this utube video and not make the same mistake
@@thebeautifulbeastuk some years ago… I would buy that excuse… we are in 2024, I was about to say “google it” but now we can even say “Chat Gpt it”. Even if you don’t know the local language, you can always use a translator…
You can park during the day but not from 10pm to 8am as it clearly shows on the sign. Before you could park anywhere but because some people use park and stay there for the whole sumer and make a lot of mess, the authorities had to apply these rules. There are a lot of camping sites where you can stay, they have all facilities and it's a lot safer.
Not true, if it's a regular parking space, you can park and spend up to 2 days there. This is the actual law in Portugal. I wound pay the ticket, I would fight in court if I had to!
Unless he parked in a prohibited place, with signs saying it is prohibited, then it's just stupidity and there is a price to pay for stupidity. In this case, 120 euros if that is the case!
@@thebeautifulbeastuk @dougaulette dont you guys read what i wrote? you cant sleep on your caravan on a public road you have to use a camping park or resting stop they are normally at highways petrol station and sometimes they have a caravan parking lot but those are very few, but if you sleep on your van on the street you get a fine i think thats the norms across europe but im not sure.

Yes we paid by cc card they even had an official card reader ! We were certainly not going to pay them cash
