The big thing with Andersson is next year. He immediately makes them much much better. If they won a cup with Hughes-Hronek Soucy-Andersson Brannstrom-Myers, I don't think it would be that shocking. That's a really good defensive unit. Then next year they have that, with the not unreasonable hope that by the end of the year Willander has established himself as a regular NHLer. If he can outplay Myers and become able to hold down a third pair then they really have zero weaknesses. Their worst player is Brannstrom and finding a #6 LD is not that hard in the NHL. Pettersson would be good but he doesn't address the really big hole on the right side. He does push Soucy down the lineup which would be a massive plus. I'd give up more for Andersson. A lot more. Anything outside of Lekkerimaki and Willander more. 1st + 2nd + Raty isn't a bad package. Worse package got Horvat. 1st + 2nd + Hoglander if they like him better. 2 1sts would honestly by worth considering. If they feel like this is a potential cup year then absolutely, if not then consider it because even if Andersson isn't enough this year, they would be absolutely top contenders next year.
Silovs for Byram...sweeteners can be a 3rd and 4th rounder or possibly Hoglander. Silovs straight up would be good enough in my opinion. If management gets creative they can use the 3rd and 4th rounders with salary retention or Hoglander for Petterson if they really have a heart on for the guy to have both. Honestly Marcus Petterson is a wrong fit for the Canucks and would rather see them get someone who has more grit. Don't need another stay at home defenseman especially at his salary.
Canucks should get montour from Seattle. Don't get pettersson from pitts
