Thanks Richard! Uncle Kaew is so strong and energetic for a 76 year old. He's the only pedicab driver in the Old Town. It's more of a hobby for him than a source of income nowadays. He obviously loves the town and the people there!

Thank you guys! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 the raw egg ice cream was actually soo delicious! We also didn’t get sick, that’s a plus haha 😂 Lots of cool cafes in Songkhla ... even the original Sasatorn shop (sister shop of Fisherman’s House in Samui).

Very nice! I have been working as a teacher in Songkhla in 1999. It really changed a lot, this street art thing wasn't there 20 years ago. I need to go there again and see what changed.
For me the nicest places in Songkhla were the markets. The night markets, the day markets, the weekend markets. I miss it! And the stadium, just go there to play a little bit of takraw :-)
That's amazing you worked there! We met a few teachers at the Blue Smile Cafe as well. Great little community of educators and expats there. We also loved the weekend market, super good vibes. Hope you get to visit again soon!

Really enjoyed the video and seeing the old man taking you around. The cafe’s look wonderful and the view where you had sunset drinks looked private and peaceful.

My mom is originally from Hat Yai, I used to go there pretty often when I was young. This video gave me nostalgia, I miss the food and atmosphere there. BTW, your footage quality is so good. Keep up the good work!

OMG thank you so much guys for bringing back good memories of my 1 month stay in Songkhla back in October 2020! Wow I just realized I missed so visiting so many delicious food shops and especially that rooftop cafe!!! 😱😱😱😭😭😭 I was really frustrated coz only having my selfie camera to take photos I missed all the murals at the old town buildings. Happy to be a part of your journey in Songkhla, great memories for me anyways, peace, love and cheers 🙏🏼❤️🇹🇭🤗🙌🏼

Well, Uncle Kaew is the only pedicab driver there so Note would be his direct competition 😆 We better leave him to it! It's more of a hobby for him we think. He just loves chatting with the locals and tourists there. Very nice guy!

The food in this one just looked so friggin delicious - those food porn close ups of the pork bone made me realise the vegan thing ain't ever gonna happen for me.

Songkhla is indeed has Malaysian flavour. The buildings reminds me of Singapore some 50 years ago becos there are no more rustic buildings in Singapore.

This was so nice to watch! I lived in Songkhla (teaching) in 2011 and 2012. I used to love visiting the restaurants and tea shops that were so rich with history in the old city as well. It does seem like there are far more coffee shops now, and sadly that rooftop bar wasn't in existence when I lived there. (That I'm aware of!) That said, the bars along the beach were atmospheric in their own way. Thanks for making this. Definitely feeling nostalgic now!

Can you drink the water in restaurants in Thailand?
You can drink the water they put in the plastic jugs (it's filtered water) but we usually order bottled water just to be safe :)
