- A review and comparison of five vintage lenses for digital mirrorless bodies - Jupiter 8, Zuiko 35mm f2,8, Helios 44-2, Industar 61 and Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm f2.4.
You can support this channel at / zenography
Lenses: Industar 61 50mm f2.8, Jupiter 8 50mm f2, Olympus Zuiko 35mm f2.8, Helios 44-2 58mm f2, Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm f2.4
I love how you go over "looks" often in these lens reviews. People seem to get overly hung up on sharpness to the point where sometimes they forget that photography is an art. Great video!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! For what it's worth, in my opinion what photography does is present a metaphor for reality (whatever reality is!); the idea that it somehow captures what is actually out there is not entirely accurate. All photo gear gives different results, and renders the image differently, and there are conscious choices involved in every step. The idea that one image is more accurate or true than another is to miss the point. Just my opinion of course, no doubt others will differ! Thanks for watching.
@@zenography7923 With my previous gear (Sony A6000 + Sigma 30mm F1.4) I was one of those a bit more interested (not obsessed) in sharpness (landscape, cityscape, architecture - it require sharpness), however when I sold my Sony gear I bought Nikon Z50 and that sistem does not have many affordable prime lenses, so I began to watch some reviews about the vintage lenses. It is truth that they have flaws, but, everybody was talking about the special character they have (including you), so I bought: Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI-s and when I compared it with Nikon Z 50mm F1.8S it was obvious that the new lens wins against the old in all departments (loses only in size and weight), but the character - well that's something different. The new Z mount lens is clinically sharp, even more than enough, but it kind of lacked character. The old lens however what it lacked in sharpness has in character, that convinced me to sell the Z mount lens and not only to keep the old one (it is sharp enough!), but I bought another 2 lenses: Nikon Nikkor 28mm F2.8 Ai and NIKON SERIES E 100mm F2.8 Ai-s - three lenses for the price of one and some change for the 4-th! :)
didn’t know that jon snow was into vintage photography
funny!
:)
Absolutely right!!
you know nothing Paul B 😂😂
Somebody: "Here, take this awesome new lens"
Jon Zenography Snow: "I don't want it"
Well hello zenographers everywhere ,love that intro.
Thanks!
No numbers, no geeky gobbledygook, just pure feeling and emotion.
Imperfection, quirkiness and oddity beat the sterile, clinical mundane technical perfection hands down.
I love my vintage lens collection, I have a beautiful Vivitar 24mm F2.8, I just love that lens, also my Rikenon 28-100 F4 zoom.
Both are superb vintage lenses from the 1980's. I have an X-E3.
I'd love an X-E3. Maybe I'll swap the X-T3 for one!
I have the Jupiter 8 on my Kiev 4 and I have the Helios 44 and love both lenses, especially the Helios. At first I didn't find anything too special about the Helios 44. So I reversed the front element and took full advantage of the unique qualities afforded by this modification. However, after exploring the reserved element for over a year, I decided to go back to the normal position of the front element and finally discovered the subtle beauty of lhis lens.
I have the Helios 50mm F2 and in love with that lens
It's by far my favorite lens
Helios 58 mm F2, not 50 mm F2
Superb videos on vintage lenses. I use my Jupiter 3 from 1951, Industar 22 from 1954 (my year) and the Jupiter 11 from 1953 more
than I use my modern lenses for my two GF 1:s and my GX7, lovely lenses. Keep up the good work. Regards Ulf.
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I use vintage glass on my Sony a7 99.9% of the time - I've hardly used the kit lens at all.
Using a Helios M44-2 on my G9 and gone tell you: great lens. But I'm using a Focal Reducer from Pixco, so it's around 72mm.
I simply love it...
I immediately bought the Zuiko after watching this. Those colors are soooo gorgeous
Hope you're enjoying it! Thanks for watching.
Nice!
The Olympus 35mm looks so beautiful!
It's a very cool lens, no doubt about it!
I love your good, helpful and so nicely calm videos!
Love it. Your content and style are improving immeasurably, so much so that I look forward to your videos and pick them out from my subscription list.
Had the Helios with my first Zenit which I gave to Dad which he then gave away before he died. Would really like to try my Zuiko 1.4 50mm on a Fujifilm X-T3. Have the Jupiter-8. Have a CZJ 135.
Cheers
Ian, Birmingham, UK
Many thanks for your kind remarks, I'm glad the videos seem to be improving - practice makes perfect I guess, or at least a bit better! Do try the Zuiko 1.4 on your XT3, it's a fantastic lens and a personal favourite. Thanks again!
For the Carl Zeiss Jena, there’s a small screw under aperture ring. If you unscrew it slightly, then the click aperture becomes smoother
You should definitely check out some of the Konica Hexanon lenses. The 57mm f1.4 is wonderful.
I have a Konica Hexanon lens... 40mm 1.8, love it. I need an actual mount adapter for it, but for my E-620 I was actually able to unscrew the mounting pins and just kind of "fit" it in. I have to hold the lens in place to keep it from rotating when I change focus, but the images actually come out pretty great! Any links to a good Micro4/3 adapter?
Love using vintage and adapted glass on my Fuji. Doing a lot with an adapted 100mm f2.8 Leitz Wetzlar projector lens this autumn. Amazing bokeh, and surprisingly sharp.
That sounds like a really interesting project!
My favorite old lens is a Meyer Optic 30mm f3.5. It's compact, metal, and has a step-less aperture. But best of all is the perspective on M43. Similar to my Helios 58mm f2 on full-frame, but sharper and a more pleasing perspective for portraits on M43.
I also right away bought the Industar 61. Those pics are great and the price is a steal! 20 bucks including shipping!
The I61 is probably the best value lens in the world! Hope you're enjoying it, and thanks for watching!
Thanks for your awesome video. I just bought a Sony A7 today for a incredibly low price and with in store warranty. Last SLR was film in 1985. Buying a lens adapter to use my 4 analogue 35 mm lens from my Contax 139. Went Pro for a great deal price.
The Helios 44-2 when adapted to a Nikon DSLR will not focus to infinity without corrective glass or modification to the lens. However I bought a Helios 81H, a very similar lens that was made with a Nikon F-mount that does focus to infinity, and I love it. Nice contrast and color.
Thanks for watching, hope you're enjoying the Helios!
I love Helios 44-2 and Jupiter 8, on mirrorless cameras.
Me too, great glass!
Me too! I was able to salvage a Jupiter 8 from a Kiev rangefinder and add a Fuji adaptor. Beautiful glass!
Another enjoyable video. I know it's near impossible to pick only 5 but I was surprised the Zuiko 50mm 1.4 didn't make an appearance 📷
That's a heavenly lens.
Other than that I'm totally with you on your picks.
Great work.
Agree. I have that lens and want to put it on a Fujifilm X-T3. Can't wait, stunning lens
Agreed, the Zuiko 1.4 is lovely; I've used one quite a lot lately and am very pleased with the results. The silver nose version is said to be less sharp than the black nose, but I haven't noticed any difference whatever. Thanks for watching.
Zenography
I actually prefer the chrome nose look and like yourself I haven't noticed any discernible difference.
I wondered if it would be possible to showcase another five lenses as a follow up
@@camerarover7124 There are a couple more lens videos in the pipeline, stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
I have an S1r and the lens I have been using the most lately is a Canon 50mm f1/8 FD with a Fotasy adapter. Love the character these oldies but goodies produce.
That 1.8's a great little lens!
great video! your voice almost put me to sleep! haha
i miss another oly om lens, the very compact and exstrem sharp 100 2.8, - it made me sell all other vintage between 85 to 100 mm,
Merci encore, j'adore votre voix et vos explications! J'ai donc acheté un Helios 44-2 et un Super Takumar 55mm 1,8 ! :-)
J'espere que vous enjoyez les objectifs - et aussi que mon Francais est bien!
@@zenography7923 its alright haha
There is also a very cool portrait lens of 92/2 from the Soviet diaprojector gives an excellent picture. If it is skillfully adapted. Center/edge resolution is 100/50 lines. Perfectly blurs the background.
I am in the hunt for a zeiss sonnar opton 50mm f/1.5 for general stuff and a sonnar opton 85/2 for portraits
I hope the search is going well!
Very helpful video!
The Pentax-M 50 f1.7 is still the budget King.
This made me fall asleep...relaxing...switch to ASMR vídeos sir lol
It's a funny thing, you're not the first person to say that! Glad you found it relaxing.
I could easily fall asleep to videos or audio of you chatting about camera stuff. Not that what you’re saying is boring but just that I find it so relaxing!
I bought the Industar 61 on your recommendation and I really love it, well except for the minimum focusing distance 👍🏾
Glad you like the I61, it's a nice little lens, but it would be great to get that little bit closer!
The industar 61 l/z, similar lens in m42 focuses a lot closer.. 30cm.
In optical terms, what is the difference between the Industar 26 and the 61?
I adore the black and white video footage in this review! Wondering which camera body you used to capture that great vintage b&w footage?
All stills and video were shot with the sony a7 mark 1
Really enjoyable video. I love the Jupiter 8 personally, but I do agree the Industar 61 is a bit sharper - I've not tried the others you feature. I use the Industar 26 quite a lot too - have you tried that? I look forward to you next video - as ever, after watching the latest Zenography I'm inspired to go out and try some more vintage glass again! And congratulations on your first 1000 subs!
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I've used the Industar 26 on digital, and although it's said to be a little less contrasty than the I-61, personally I couldn't tell the difference. Thanks again.
Thanks for your review of these lovely lenses. A little correction though: you mention that the Zuiko has a focus range of 15cm to infinity on m4/3 but this is not the case. Minimum focus distance stays always the same, no matter the size of the sensor, as the m4/3 sensor only crops the image.
Agreed, the smaller sensor crops the image, giving a magnification - which decreases the (effective) minimum focus distance. So on M43, the effective MFD of this lens becomes 15cm.
Hi . Great to watch your informative ( and soothing ) videos. How do you feel the Canon EOS R10 and R5 are suited to vintage lenses? Is the R5 too critical of glass? Is the R10 too menu- oriented?
Great stuff. Can you please write the names of the lenses in the description for those of us non English?
Done!
@@zenography7923 Thanks! As long time vinyl collector, not sure if this is a healthy economically path😅.
Hey man, I love your videos, can you please edit the sound slightly differently it's really harsh on the higher Frequencies think. I'm not knowledgeable but it's worth looking into it. Thanks for all the lovely content.
Oh sorry man - this was an early video and I've probably got a bit better technically since then - are the later ones any better?
Hi, I would request you to talk about vintage cine lenses, specially how to adapt these with modern cameras. They seem to me very tricky and these lenses are costly. Before buying, we would rather know them well. I believe, this would help many photographers.
Thanks for the suggestion - if I find some at a reasonable price I'll review them!
Zenography thanks. Look forward to it
Great video. Subscribed
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it - and thanks for subscribing!
You're welcome @@zenography7923
i'm watching the documentary video
:)
I am having the worst luck with finding lenses that will focus when the two images line up in my rangefinder view. The RF view shows it's in focus, but the shots are out of focus. I've taken to doing a series of shots of the same subject, starting at RF view in focus and then turning the focus a bit at time to the end of the throw. I end with one more shot of RF view in focus. I am using a Leica M9 and a K&F LTM to Leica M adapter. You have lots of experience with different lenses mated up to different cameras. I have one M mount lens and it focuses correctly. I don't understand the issue. Thank you, I love your videos.
This is a strange one! If one lens focusses well on your M9 then the others should do too. Does the problem occur with Russian lenses? Which have you tried?
@@zenography7923 Thank you so much for your reply. I had an Industar-26M that was close, but focus was off and I also tried a Canon Serenar 85mm and that focus was not coupled. What I'd really like to understand (I can read up more on it if I know which is the culprit), is HOW a rangefinder lens couples with the RF view to sync focus and what can make it not work. I'd like to try several of the Russian lenses you recommend, but want to figure out this problem first. I got a 50mm Nikkor HC F2 and that focuses perfectly.
Thanks again and I hope you are doing well.
So great
Thanks so much!
What vintage lens would you recommend as a 24mm/28mm for video work which can be adapted to EF?
I miss my Flektogon 😔 around 220pounds now
Maybe you'll find another one someday - and perhaps a bargain might come your way! Thanks for looking in.
@@zenography7923 I hope so too. Thanks!
@@zenography7923 have you used the Hexanon 28mm 3.5? I am looking for a nice 28mm for using in my Fuji X pro 1.
78k views... Now that's impressive!
Thanks!
A huge part of me wants to buy the czj over the 27mm Fuji x lens. Might not be a good idea though
That czj is wonderful - I shoot all my videos with it on m43, and use it for day to day photography on full frame. I don't know the Fuji x lens, but that czj takes some beating!
I don't understand how the MFD can be shorter with micro 4/3 cameras.
Regarding the Industar I recommend the LD ( written in cyrilic ) version ( Lantharium treatment, 55mm f2.8) , it is even better. It comes with FED cameras as yours.
It's to do with the smaller sensor of the mft system. The sensor receives the central part of the image from the lens, not (as it does on full frame or 35mm film) the whole image. Therefore, for any given lens to subject distance, the mft image will always appear magnified. The actual focal length of the lens, and the minimum focus distance is of course unchanged, but the effective focal length is doubled, and effective minimum focus distance is halved. Hope that makes sense, and thanks for watching.
I just found your channel and I love your way of reviewing. By the way, between the Oly OM 35mm f2.8 and the same version with f2.0 which would you recommend. The f2.0 seems to has higher price in online market.
The f2 is said to be the nicer lens, but I can't comment as I haven't used it. Its reputation, though, is excellent!
It's all very beautiful, creative and stylish, but old wide-angle lenses have some troubles with full-frame cameras. Corners of a picture usually become blurry, aberrated and distorted =)) They say, the root of the problem is complete flatness of the digital sensor. You see, those retro-lenses were made for using with film, which is not completely flat, but slightly uplifted in the right side and left side. Sorry for bad english, lol =)))
Hi, you're right that very wide angle lenses don't work quite as well on digital as they do on film, but should be fine up to about 25mm or so. I've had no problems so far but I haven't tried any ultra wide angles. And I don't think your English is bad at all - far better than my Russian! Spasiba!
I had the industar... it was so soft I had to sell it right away!
You may have got a bad copy there - it's usually very sharp!
Great video! Do these lens require an adapter to work with the Nikin Z fc i.e M39 or M42?
Wanna buy the Industar 61, what adapter do I need for the Sony alpha 6000 (E-Mount)
Btw. really informative video, you got a pretty relaxing voice
You need an L39 to e--mount adaptor; there are loads of them on ebay and amazon for around 10 pounds or so. And I'm glad you like the vocals, thanks!
Great content! I am going to buy a Helios 44-2 after seeing this. I wanted to ask, do you recommend the KMZ or MMZ version? I have to choose between the two and I cannot test them out myself, so was hoping for some expert advice before I make the plunge. There is also very little information comparing between 44-2 lenses, so maybe an idea for a future video as well :).
I always try to go for KMZ lenses if I can, they seem to have had the better quality control and consistency
Wonderful examples. Thank you for these great recommendations. I loved the presentation. What do you think of the Industar 50 3.5/50 Red P KMZ, Mir1B 2,8/37, Carl Zeiss MC Pancolar e lectric 50mm F/1.8, and SMC Takumar 50mm F/1.4 with 8 aperture blades?
I really like the Industar 50, it's a bit slow but very sharp, with really good colour rendition. The non-collapsible version must be one of the ugliest lenses in the world though! The Mir 1 is very nice indeed, with a bit of swirl if you like that kind of thing, which personally I do. Big fan of the Pancolar 1.8 and have heard very good things about the Takumars, but have never used one. Glad you enjoyed the video - thanks for watching!
Excellent presentations! If I have to use Helios 44-2 , what adapters are good for Pentax k1000 body and for Sony a6400 body ? Thanks!
I don't know if you read comments on these old videos, but have you made a video about adapters? If not, would you consider it? You glanced over it here about rangefinders and SLRs but choosing the right adapter is still a point of confusion for me
I'll certainly give it some thought. What is it you're not sure about?
@@zenography7923 @Zenography Why the different lengths, really. Mainly because I've had a Canon 1100D for years and could use an M42 lens with a cheap adapter that added virtually no length and worked fine but recently upgraded to a Sony a6000 (in part because of your video on it :) ) and all my research led me to longer adapters.
I remembered you saying the great thing about mirrorless is how close the sensor is to the lens and how much easier and compact that made using vintage lenses, so the added length was a bit confusing.
I have done some more research since my first comment, and found out about Flange Focal Distance and Infinity Focus, and that there's only a 1mm difference in FFD between a Canon EF mount and an M42 mount so that's probably why I didn't need a longer adapter before? And that the reason mirrorless makes this easier is because of the smaller FFD, meaning there's a lot more choice of lenses and no need to use an adapter with corrective elements?
Also, I read that despite the added length, the focal length remains the same? Again, I'm assuming this is because the adapter actually sets the lens at the correct FFD.
It seems after finding the right article things became a bit clearer, but maybe there's still something to learn :)
I have the Olympus Zuiko 35mm F/2 and use it on my Panasonic GH5s
I've heard that's a very nice lens indeed, would love to try one. Ah well, maybe some day...
Very good lens. Do try one you will like it@@zenography7923
I got it for my G7
That's Awesome @@HansBaier
You should go into voice work. I want you to read me an audiobook or something.
I agree. Maybe more towards documentaries
Based on few videos i watched, i understood that if we have a Nikon AI or AIS lens mounted via a speedbooster (like Viltrox NF-M43X) to the Panasonic GH5 (mirrorless M43), we will be able to read the aperture change in the viewfinder. Can you confirm this? Thanks for your help!!!
The AI and AI-s lenses allow you to read the aperture setting in the viewfinder of a Nikon film camera, but the speedbooster wouldn't permit this as the all manual lens can't transmit this info to a digital camera - you'll have to look at the aperture dial on the lens.
I just received a Kiev 4m today. I am having trouble figuring out the best way do hold it as my fingers are either in the way of the rangefinder window or cramped up against the lens as I have to hold the focus still while changing the aperture otherwise the focus ring moves. Any tips on the best way you have found to position your fingers to reach all the controls without blocking the rangefinder?
Cheers, Mike.
Hi Mike, you need to use the so called 'Contax grip', a configuration of fingers that would be difficult to explain in words! If you google Contax grip you will find what you need. Thanks for watching!
Love your videos - after watching this I’ve bought the Jena flek 35mm f2.4 and love it - however on my Olympus omd m5 I cannot focus at all at f2.4 or f4 - would there be a better body to use? Or do I need to change some settings? Would love your advice
Very odd indeed, that definitely shouldn't happen. What kind of adaptor are you using?
Thanks I bought a homyword adapter off Amazon - m42 to m4/3
Love the video. I Want to start using some of these vintage lenses. How do I know what adapter to get for my Sony a7III? What mount are these lenses? Thanks very much.
I use so called 'dumb' adaptors for all my vintage lenses - a simple metal tube with a Sony e-mount at the camera end, and the mount for whatever lens I'm using at the lens end. So, to use an Olympus Zuiko lens on your Sony, you'll need an OM mount to e-mount adaptor. Or, if you're using an M42 lens, you'll need an M42 to e-mount adaptor, and so on. Hope that's of some help!
@@zenography7923 Thanks very much for the quick reply
I got a guy offering to trade me a Zuiko 24mm 2.0, which I can find much information on, for a lens I really never even use. He's actually offering that lens plus a Yashica 50mm 1.4 ML and Yashica 35mm 2.8. 3 lenses for my one lens. Any opinions. I would most likely put an EF adaptor on it and use it on a MFT BMPCC4k with or with out speed booster. I have seen a couple of 24mm 2.0 on eBay for 300-400 dollars.
The 24mm is very sought after, and reputedly a very nice lens too. I'd keep it!
Zenography thanks but a month later it was sold. I searched everywhere and could not find much about the lens.. oh well.
Jupiter 8 color rendering may be worse than others but on digital no problem by the post production.
Jupiter 8 look cinematic
The J8 is one of the nicest lenses I know!
Could a Helios go on a 540 power shot
Unfortunately not - the 540 power shot is a bridge camera, whose lenses can't be interchanged.
Umm so ik it’s a dumb question but can a dslr camera (aps c and not mirrorless) use vintage lenses with an adapter?
Not a dumb question at all - it depends which DSLR and which lens. Nikons can't mount many vintage lenses due to their flange distance; I know that Olympus lenses will mount on Canon bodies - which camera are you using?
@@zenography7923 I’m planning to get a canon 800D. The vintage lenses are very cheap and i thought it might be fun to try them out instead of spending $$$ on modern lenses.
I just picked up a fd to micro 4/3rds adapter for my black magic and was wondering if the Vintage lens Jupiter-8M Carl Zeiss Sonnar lens would be able to work on there? If not what would the recommended adapter or model of jupiter lens that would work?
The 8m won’t mount easily on your camera as it’s Conrad mount - you’ll be far better off with an L39 mount Jupiter 8 and an LTM to m43 adaptor.
@@zenography7923 ughh i had that feeling but it was so cheap i went for it anyways.. there does seem to be contax to m4/3rds ..im sure there is still a chance it can work no?
Hi. Can you please share which filter you use with zeiss 35 2.4 to work nicely with sony a7? Many thanks
Do you mean which adaptor? If so, I use only the so called 'dumb' adaptors - a simple metal tube with the appropriate mounts at each end - cheaply available on ebay. As for filters, I keep a UV filter on the lens, but only to stop damage to the front element.
Which industar 61 is that 51mm, 52mm or 53mm? I hear some of them aren’t very contrasty
Wondering the same thing, Many options on eBay and it’s confusing
Wondering if you could help? I have just purchased a Fed 3 with 2.8/52 lens. I need to get a front cap and a rear to for that matter, for it, but what size is It? It's more than likely looking me in the face. Thank you
Filter size for the front cap is 40.5mm, though I'm not sure if this refers to the outer diameter or the inner. The rear cap is L39.
@@zenography7923 I watch so many of your video clips I forgot which one I asked the question on....lol....was going to delete it, after turning computer off I measured it...lol....lol,....thank you for your help
Why are all these lenses so heavy? Are they made of osmium or something? My current set up is only 2.2 pounds. Gonna need a stronger tripod:(
The weight comes from the fact that they're made entirely of metal, unlike many of today's lenses that feature a lot of plastic. I do wonder how long some modern glass will last, the kit lens on my Panasonic GH2 being a case in point - a nice lens, but feels very fragile...
Can i use any kind of m39 lenses?I have Jupiter-8,Jupiter-11,Industar-22,and a German Sumitar lenses. How should i know the lens wont touch the sensor?i would like to buy a Olympus pen pl3.
Yes, they will mount, but bear these points in mind: 1. Never collapse a collapsible lens when on your digital camera body, 2. Be careful with lenses like the Jupiter 12 with a protruding rear element - this one won't mount.
@@zenography7923 Thanks.The Jupiter 12 is a wide-angle lens,i had one,but i sold it.
Any thoughts on the Vivitar 28mm f2.8?
I have a Vivitar badged 28/2.8 mf'd by Komine in Nikon F mount. My understanding is that Vivitar had 2 or 3 manufacturers making this lens & that quality did vary depending on which lens maker made the lens. The Komine - my understanding - is supposed to be the most desirable. All in all, a decent lens.
Hope you're enjoying it!
@@zenography7923 thanks. btw, enjoyed your video.
your voice sounds like your are telling a scary story

i wonder if i can use these with my a5000
Yes, you absolutely can!
Don't forget these lenses.. www.dyxum.com/dforum/re-auto-topcor-lenses_topic108389.html These were the choice of the US Navy when they reviewed Nikon, Canon, Leica, Zeiss and more.
Helios 44-2, Industar 61 ? Are you serious ? )))
Two of my favourites, for sure.
I love these too. Both really good for theatre photography, characterful bokeh and also picked up an industar L/D in Lithuania for 10 euro. Absolutely gorgeous lens and even better than the standard zebra one in terms of center sharpness and has its own character
serious question, one Problem I have been struggling with, as it is a range finder lens (jupter 8 ) is not a single reflex lens, so cannot adapt to my Sony. How do you get round it? Have i not found the right adaptor. Regards Mick
HI there, the Jupiter 8 (and almost all other rangefinder lenses) will easily adapt to the Sony A7, and all other mirrorless cameras. All you need is an M39 to E Mount adapter - available very cheaply on ebay. Problem solved! The Jupiter is a great little lens, hope you enjoy it, and thanks for watching!
i use a sony to m42 helicoid adapter, and cut smal parts of the lens bottom to fit it into the helicoid 17- 35 mm , adding hotclue to it makes it hold forever otherwise, drill a hole in a film camera hood cap m42 and attach it to the bottom of the lense ( www.ebay.com/itm/Brass-M42-NEX-17-31mm-Macro-Helicoid-Adapter-for-M42-Lens-to-Sony-E-NEX-3-5-6-7/282614612907?hash=item41cd24c3ab:g:5XIAAOSwxk9ZlcHm&enc=AQADAAAB4KX%2FKt4E1xf3SDqEdBclaYbcx2KDAnXgjaasl9iQBazAczjbCzYlSTov7PNPmVgSUepn5u3IYfAtfj9MYKyXbEBJYJ2C%2FMzMxuPlwkGIwOM7pxY1Z%2FGE1XvGQSVvsWtxeqv6zEriB%2FvQ1YelKpn7NgHlgkyelBEqGSFG3UIsN3g8dNkpM7i%2Bs2Sii%2B0iBll%2B8ngRZUNeBq1zUQl2Ssp7GeEx7urstifO1kt9aRXk77Rlb4SjQX73WowZGJezqDUFyGYsCuiIY9QRn5K8%2BDY5KYplDoOrzoQcMIszbFzXDLJKEsGlfGrhvORp9BjgdIeJiuvu8hEyRs%2BhotQ%2BTt6YM3d8xxnCtsPsSDz9zOB8qnNrjw1ncGHoK4P6xA3zhflq5MpY0ZmPRhZ3V7pOrDj2YKO0XvkHQCuocz3S%2FIs6uJPV8Wq%2FQ5VVPjwqN9u%2FaxLZDLBIJCzaGDdrpc0BVivb4UpiLSNW1x3JjdZdzGjlxUhVAAVBaFPUlXPD2oHifgfBto7YKj8NCXbf2j5C04FiI8x%2F8y%2BUYqY30MwIcNf%2BdWB%2BPiRd1ZGfQyHbiapgMp8whs9ajF1%2BndxleO60DEkEPX1X8SVoHjD7LhW%2BQC92QpP1E1GJVzACYekVfoWJUQk7Zg%3D%3D&checksum=2826146129079ed9bc52f6bb48579c5913b59c3e1f44 )
i forgot this is a second part of my input www.ebay.com/itm/UK-M42-NEX-Lens-Adapter-For-M42-Lens-To-Sony-E-Mount-NEX6-NEX3/273755556046?hash=item3fbd1a48ce:g:jagAAOSwfbRbWpjw
and a 3. part to my input, you can transform the lens to a m42, drill a hole in this m42 body cover, and its now a m42 lens www.ebay.de/itm/2pcs-set-M42-Screw-Lens-Body-Cover-Cap-for-Pentax-Camera-42mm-Screw-Lens-Cap/173664217191?hash=item286f31a867:g:V6sAAOSwuQhb~OBR
maybe this will do, its an adapter from russian rangefinder mount to sony mirrorless, its made by russian ebay seller, they do this diy adapter by combining the camera flange into a leica m39 to sony e adapter www.ebay.de/itm/Contax-Rangefinder-RF-CRF-Objektiv-Adapter-fur-Sony-E-NEX-A7-A7R-NEX-5T-A6000/172310305677?hash=item281e7e9b8d:g:EScAAOSwgQ9Vh5k5
which adapters are you using for these (in my case > Sony E-Mount)?
I couldn't find any of these on Ebay with Minolta native attachment for my K&F adapter
I used L39, M42 and OM to emount - all available on ebay...
Which adaptor and lens can I use for my Sony nex 6
And which lenses can I use for the fotodiox pro lens mount. I’m lookin for good lenses I don’t know a lot about camera yet I’m interested in vintage look though
There are so many on the market, I use K&F E-mount to mount my 40 year old Minolta MD/MCs for my NEX5/A6000/A7M3, it all depends what old lenses you want to use. All combinations are theoretically possible
NEX cameras are all E-Mount
What’s your camera?
I use a Sony a7 mark 1 for all the shots on the channel, unless otherwise stated.
Cool video but drop the fake voice. It's annoying and makes me not want to watch other videos you made
What makes you think it's fake? It's the only one I've got!
