This is from the reunion tour, so 1999/2000. Bruce is 50 here. Stevie plays a few guitars acoustic, sometimes lead guitar alternating with Nils depending on the song and if Bruce is with the audience. He also plays mandolin. Garry plays bass. Stevie also started in Lilyhammer. He was also in a Christmas movie a few years ago, can't remember the name of the top of my head. Patti is his wife, hence first lady of love, she was singing a bit of Rumbledoll the title song of her first album which had just been released. Great album.
With this performance you get it all - Bruce the singer, the entertainer and the priest. The song tells the story of the E Street Band. Bruce, Clarence Clemons (sax, died 2011), Danny Federici (organ, died 2009) and Garry Tallent (bass) are founding members, Max Weinberg (drums, Conan O'Brian Show), Roy Bittan (piano) and Steven van Zandt (guitar, Sopranos, Lilyhammer) joined in the mid seventies, Nils Lofgren (guitar) and Patti Scialfa (guitar, vocals, Bruce wife) in 1984. Bruce and Clarence were soul brothers. As the Big Man died Bruce said "Losing Clarence was like losing the rain". Think, that says a lot. Btw, he got replaced by his nephew Jake Clemons. Had the pleasure to see them 3 times so far and will see them again 2 times in 2025. And even today, at the age of 75, his shows still lasts for 3 hours.
My first concert ever was Springsteen's BitUSA tour and it was 4.5 hours long. Came home in the wee hours of the morning, tired, sweaty, with no voice left. I thought all concerts were this long so I was so disappointed with other concerts I went to.
That’s not his encore. That’s the middle of his 3+ hour concert. He’s been my favorite since I was 8. I’m 48 now. He’s the best, and his love for his band is the best!
I was lucky enough to attend some concerts of Bruce and the E Street Band, I know well what it means to participate in such a party. The only sadness is to see Big Man and Danny, who unfortunately are no longer with us and knowing that of them remains only the great memory and all the music they gave us
Oh man Bruce Springsteen is the best thank you for reacting to this one of my favorite saw him in Vancouver Canada way back with the Born in the USA album long ago 80s lol I just aged as a teenager ya just aged myself lol 😅😊
I saw him in Vancouver in 2003 2008 and 2012. I would have gone in 1985, but I was 3 people away from getting a ticket. As for the concert last week, the prices were too high.😢
Bruce is such an amazing live show! And I’ve always loved this song. His shoes are a workout, for the band and the audience…. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!! So thankful I found this channel and the great community you’ve built here! ❤️🎶
Bruce always overdelivers. I've seen him a number of times over the past 40+ years, including last year in Baltimore (as in "left a wife and kid in ......." IYKYK. 😃 While he didn't jump off of the piano, at 74 he still left every bit of himself on the stage. And most fans in any audience would still be fine if 10th Avenue Freeze Out was twice as long.
Springsteen & The E Street Band are the greatest American Rock & Roll Band ever!

In 2008 The Big Man was in rough shape but he performed his guts out.
This is from '99 or 2000. My all time favorite version of this song
