    Apologies for Uploading the video again. Had to remove some “royalty free” music that clearly was not. The joys of copyright claims. Oh well just didn’t want them all up in my video anyway lol.
    Here is an in depth video showing how we converted our (2) 12 Foot Home Depot Skeletons from 4 C Batteries to a DC wall plug. Hope it helps! Thanks for watching !

    Nice! Nobody's got time for batteries!! Those soldering shields are awesome. So many times, I've had to bring wires in from the yard to solder because I didn't want to set up the soldering iron outside. Those are genius!

    FYI. Bought one this week; now they have the power option that comes with it. Problem I have; it doesn’t remember last setting and if you have all your stuff on a timer; you need to go out and push the dopey button every day.
    Would love a video to bypass it.

    Omg!!! I learned so much. First, I will be converting my skeleton, just ordered all tools from your link. Also,,, the on button is a timer!!!! Mind explosion. I read the manual and sure enough, when you press the button to ON, the eyes will automatically turn off after 6hrs, then turn back on after 18hrs!!! Pays to read the manual.

    If you're not comfortable messing with wiring you can buy an ac power adapter ( in this case for 4 C batteries).
    Amazon sells them & what it looks like is 4 blank C batteries with a wire coming out one of them that ends with a plug, so you can plug it into a outlet receptacle, instead of replacing batteries.
    I have purchased these adapters for my 8' tall props & it works great.
    I do suspect that the you will need to use a extension cord part way down the skeleton's leg, but I can't say for sure because I don't own any 12' prop's .

    Has anyone tried a solar panel on one of these? Our skeleton came with the power supply and a battery box. We set it up too far to run power and it goes through batteries quickly. I'm wondering if I can get a solar/battery pack and plug it right in to the power input or if a solar panel would charge rechargable batteries in the unit.

    I saw this last year and was thinking about adding this mod to mine. But instead I went with a switchbot. It is a little bluetooth/wifi switch that simply pushes a button, on a schedule. MY issue was not so much the batteries, but going out side at 11pm every night, sometimes in the rain, to shut him off.

    Hey great video going to buy this. Question is though, was the whole point of going through all this trouble of hacking into the box so the timer and manuel on off switch are still functional? If I’m just going to plug it into timer anyway couldn’t you just save all that trouble and cut the wire going into the box and connect the plug to that?

    • @SuperTonkers
      @SuperTonkers  3 года назад +6

      Thank you for watching. This was done this way to make it as neat, “professional”, and as safe as possible.To access the back of the battery compartment and wire this is the best option. You can’t access that wire from the battery compartment. Could you bypass the built in switch... yes of course.
      I think what your asking is could you just attach a connector to the cord that comes from the bottom of the spine piece to the plug... yes you definitely can as long as the DC plug is wired correctly and doesn’t have the positive and negative reversed. Needs to be (-) on the outside of the connector and (+) on the inside. Going this route will have a long cable dangling at around 6ft and no good way to hide the cable. Hopefully that helped answer your question. 🎃💀

    Great Video! I found a battery to plug adaptor that is 6V and 1A of power. The conversion on your video is for a 6V and 2A of power. Not having knowledge in this area, would the 6V and 1A plug adaptor work on this skeleton and what would the difference be? Thanks!

    • @SuperTonkers

    Would the power cord that you linked below work just to plug him in at the spine? I can't seem to get my timer to work and I don't have the time to completely tear him apart to rewire

    • @SuperTonkers
      @SuperTonkers  3 года назад +1

      Honestly no clue. The connections will probably fit but I can’t give a definitive answer on if it will cause damage or not to the LCD screens. Doesn’t look like there are any kind of resistors or anything I’m the circuit board but the connection may be wired backwards for the plugs that run up to the head. Sorry I don’t have a better answer. It may work.

    I wonder if anyone is going to try and animate the jaw.. seems like it should doable.

    • @SuperTonkers
      @SuperTonkers  3 года назад +2

      I’m sure someone may try and it may be possible. You would have to cut the bottom jaw off and add support bc it’s not a separate piece it’s molded together with the head as one piece. Weight may be an issue but I’m sure someone will try it!

    • @RoboticalHalloween
      @RoboticalHalloween 3 года назад

      It would be doable, but difficult because you would have to basically replace the circuit board with a custom one because I doubt there is any spot on the board or programming on it for a moving mouth.

    • @JeremyPlance

      @@RoboticalHalloween I figure it'd be like building a 3-axis on the smaller skelly's though fabrication of the lower jaw may be interesting. If I pick one up locally once they go on sale here, I may see what I can 3D print.
