Apologies for Uploading the video again. Had to remove some “royalty free” music that clearly was not. The joys of copyright claims. Oh well just didn’t want them all up in my video anyway lol.
Here is an in depth video showing how we converted our (2) 12 Foot Home Depot Skeletons from 4 C Batteries to a DC wall plug. Hope it helps! Thanks for watching !

I just got this this skeleton today. It was a mission even finding one. Had to travel 60+ miles to get it but it was so worth it.This video is perfect to remedy the battery dilemma. Thank you for posting this informative info. Happy Halloween.
Awesome! Home Depot really made ya work for it lol. Glad you got your hands on one. Totally worth it! Happy Halloween 🎃 💀❤️
Nice! Nobody's got time for batteries!! Those soldering shields are awesome. So many times, I've had to bring wires in from the yard to solder because I didn't want to set up the soldering iron outside. Those are genius!
These little guys changed my life a few years ago. So lazy now I barely touch the soldering iron lol
FYI. Bought one this week; now they have the power option that comes with it. Problem I have; it doesn’t remember last setting and if you have all your stuff on a timer; you need to go out and push the dopey button every day.
Would love a video to bypass it.
Omg!!! I learned so much. First, I will be converting my skeleton, just ordered all tools from your link. Also,,, the on button is a timer!!!! Mind explosion. I read the manual and sure enough, when you press the button to ON, the eyes will automatically turn off after 6hrs, then turn back on after 18hrs!!! Pays to read the manual.
Thank you! I was always intimidated about wiring because I hate soldering- love these little connectors with the solder in the middle. I got it to connect nicely with no problems. You did a great job on this tutorial. I appreciate your sharing of your talents! Keep thses
Thank you so much. This video and all your videos are tremendous. Also, thank you for the explanation of 1.5 volt and totaling up batteries. That is easy to understand.
This is the best video I've seen explaining this and how everything works, in general. Thank you so much!
This rocks, I couldn't believe they set this up with batteries when it uses lcd screens for the eyes. Thank you for the help on this, was just wondering about this!!
Super helpful. Worked great, was going through 4 batteries like every 3 days.
Thanks for this! I wanted to wire up a bunch of my halloween decorations and this was the perfect explanation to apply to may other decoration applications
FANTASTIC RUclips CHANNEL!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Great video i followed it and it worked like a charm!!! Thank you!
I got the new 2021 Skeleton yesterday and it now has a power supply option :). No need for this hack anymore... and I was all ready to start hacking :)
Awesome tutorial i also picked one up now I'm hoping you'll have a great custom idea for him hes so plane Jane
Thanks for sharing, was so easy to do, works perfect!!!
If you're not comfortable messing with wiring you can buy an ac power adapter ( in this case for 4 C batteries).
Amazon sells them & what it looks like is 4 blank C batteries with a wire coming out one of them that ends with a plug, so you can plug it into a outlet receptacle, instead of replacing batteries.
I have purchased these adapters for my 8' tall props & it works great.
I do suspect that the you will need to use a extension cord part way down the skeleton's leg, but I can't say for sure because I don't own any 12' prop's .
Cool I’m waiting on my from the halfway to Halloween sell .
Was a bit bummer I missed out on this one but with the 2021 version coming I'm happy I waited lol.
Yea this was a hot item! Had no idea they were bringing it back this year?! That’s wonderful 💀❤️
Great DIY.. This is how it should have been built..
Skeletal proctology... there’s a first! Lol great video and super helpful. You make it look easy and it seems well worth the effort to not have to buy batteries anymore. I do want to get this skeleton.
Haha yup! Pretty odd to have a giant pelvis on my work table. It was a bit of a pain but well worth my effort bc I freaking hate batteries.
K&T Do Halloween I feel you there!
K&T Do Halloween not the mention that they can get expensive if you have a ton of props that require them.
I’m doing this tomorrow
AWW denied, dude I wanted to see it together standing and working :( Great tutorial ;) oh and btw my husband walked in and asked what wacked out medical show I was watching lol!
👏👍😎🎃💀Thank You!!!!
Love your channel if you corpse them can you upload a detailed video? I want to get him but I live in a condo was thinking about putting it on my balcony?
Today I learned about solder seal wire connectors. Thanks to you. Where the fuck have those things been hiding all this time I've been swearing at bad connections and messy flux! lol Subbed.
Haha I said the same thing when I found them! There are also Scotchlock Connectors too which are even easier... no heat gun. Welcome and thank you for the support! 🎃💀
Thanks for this but Question: Why not just connect adapter to new transformer and go directly into wire leading to skull...bypassing battery pack completely?
Reupload? Still a great tutorial and very helpful.😊🎃🍂
Yea sorry. Had a random copyright claim pop up on something that shouldn’t so I removed the music and uploaded the video again.
Is there a guide, book, or tutorial you would recommend for a newbie to this to check out that helps explain how to figure out which plug or adapter you need per project?
Has anyone tried a solar panel on one of these? Our skeleton came with the power supply and a battery box. We set it up too far to run power and it goes through batteries quickly. I'm wondering if I can get a solar/battery pack and plug it right in to the power input or if a solar panel would charge rechargable batteries in the unit.
Do you have a diy for replacing the eyes , or options to replace , head fell in the pool :/
can u pls hack into how to attach an external speaker jack on props pleeeeeeeeeease?
I saw this last year and was thinking about adding this mod to mine. But instead I went with a switchbot. It is a little bluetooth/wifi switch that simply pushes a button, on a schedule. MY issue was not so much the batteries, but going out side at 11pm every night, sometimes in the rain, to shut him off.
Hey great video going to buy this. Question is though, was the whole point of going through all this trouble of hacking into the box so the timer and manuel on off switch are still functional? If I’m just going to plug it into timer anyway couldn’t you just save all that trouble and cut the wire going into the box and connect the plug to that?
Thank you for watching. This was done this way to make it as neat, “professional”, and as safe as possible. To access the back of the battery compartment and wire this is the best option. You can’t access that wire from the battery compartment. Could you bypass the built in switch... yes of course.
I think what your asking is could you just attach a connector to the cord that comes from the bottom of the spine piece to the plug... yes you definitely can as long as the DC plug is wired correctly and doesn’t have the positive and negative reversed. Needs to be (-) on the outside of the connector and (+) on the inside. Going this route will have a long cable dangling at around 6ft and no good way to hide the cable. Hopefully that helped answer your question. 🎃💀
@@SuperTonkers I think I need to try this method, I'm not having any luck with it's timer, I can get him on , but he never comes on the next day
Great Video! I found a battery to plug adaptor that is 6V and 1A of power. The conversion on your video is for a 6V and 2A of power. Not having knowledge in this area, would the 6V and 1A plug adaptor work on this skeleton and what would the difference be? Thanks!
Thank you! Not sure if it would work properly. It may just be dim or flicker if it doesn’t have enough power. 💀🎃❤️
They remade the 12ft skeletons with adapters
Would the power cord that you linked below work just to plug him in at the spine? I can't seem to get my timer to work and I don't have the time to completely tear him apart to rewire
Honestly no clue. The connections will probably fit but I can’t give a definitive answer on if it will cause damage or not to the LCD screens. Doesn’t look like there are any kind of resistors or anything I’m the circuit board but the connection may be wired backwards for the plugs that run up to the head. Sorry I don’t have a better answer. It may work.
@@SuperTonkers Okay Thanks, I was just trying to eliminate the timer, I can't seem to get mine to work properly.

I had 1 bad screw also. Very bag for out of the box.
Agreed and for the cost of these buggers lol 💀🎃
Would this technique work for combining multiple low voltage lights since most of them are battery packs too? (you are a good lookin dude; does your husband show his face? )
I wonder if anyone is going to try and animate the jaw.. seems like it should doable.
I’m sure someone may try and it may be possible. You would have to cut the bottom jaw off and add support bc it’s not a separate piece it’s molded together with the head as one piece. Weight may be an issue but I’m sure someone will try it!
It would be doable, but difficult because you would have to basically replace the circuit board with a custom one because I doubt there is any spot on the board or programming on it for a moving mouth.
@@RoboticalHalloween I figure it'd be like building a 3-axis on the smaller skelly's though fabrication of the lower jaw may be interesting. If I pick one up locally once they go on sale here, I may see what I can 3D print.
Way easier to buy a 6v 2a plug and plug it directly into the head
Our power switch broke :(. Has anyone tried to connect a power adapter directly to its head or tested and know what voltage is coming from its skull? Thanks! :)
The switch on mine broke too. It would be really nice to plug in a 6 V two amp adapter directly to the head. Can anyone measure the voltage that goes to the head? I would hate to plug it into the head and fry the LEDs. But I can’t test it myself since that darn switch broke.
That videos amazing how you transform a animatronic that worth on batteries to a Acura different thing but got to Steve because he's actually a Christian so he will actually it's not that confusing to him so just going to be understanding this video a lot!🔧👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool hack. The thing that bugs me is the refresh rate for on the screens for the eyes, it looks so unnatural. The idea of a skeleton almost twice my height is awesome, but I feel like it could be so much better.
Yea that’s an LCD screen for ya but the 12 ft skeleton I think wins out bc well it’s huge lol 💀
My eyes don't work what can I do
*slow chanting* corpse it.... corpse it... corpse it!
😂🙌 Yes...Yes...YES!! 💀🧟♂️
I can't even figure out my led light strips lol
It comes where you can put batteries or plug it in so I don't know what you're talking about you can either run it off a batteries or plug it in you don't have to do what you're doing wiring stupid things up I just bought one of mine's already hooked up to either batteries or you can plug it into an outlet and that cord that's hanging there came from the factory that way because of mine's the same way and I bought mine brand new
💀
