Awesome advice, thank you. This vlog is so timely, I've just started sewing with knit fabrics and in the process of making a tee with cotton jersey. Will most definitely be trying some of these techniques. ☺

Well this was very opportune as I’m about to hem. I’m using Art Gallery Fabrics…Botanists Poem…Pattern from Minerva and the Compositionis 95% Pima Cotton, 5% Spandex. It’s interesting as I e made this dress before but in viscose jersey and this is handling differently. It’s quite stable but rolls a lot, almost seems smaller as a garment. The dress has a flounce on the bottom so is quite wide and will not need to stretch. I hadn’t thought of sewing with a straight stitch but now I think I might. The sleeves are different as they’ll need to stretch. The sleeves will need to stretch and I wish I’d looked closer at the stretch properties as they are tighter than my other versions. Not going to change it now. Might have to see if I can stretch them a bit. They are fine but fitted . Also wondering what colour thread to use on hem thanks for doing this Jo.

Can you tell me if when sewing a hem with an overlocker on stretch fabrics, before you finally machine it in place, does the overlocker cause the fabric to stretch? Thank you, I do love your videos.
