Excellent video! You just won my subscription. This is the first video that I been able to find and the programming of a cnc. There is numerous videos on the unpacking and build up of the cnc’s.
Awesome video brother! I have never owned or operated a CNC machine however, I am seriously researching building one vs buying one. I look forward to seeing more video instruction from you.
Hey ! Thanks for your video ! i was multiple hours in finding a way to make my desktop CNC machine working and i found your video. i was able to follow your step and create my designs. Now i need to plug my CNC and make it work. Thanks again !
I have a background in 2D CAD for control systems design and I have to say that this program seems very powerful underneath a very simplistic and easy to understand shell.
Erick , This video is GREAT and answered so many questions I had about CNC operation and software all done in like 19 minutes. I will download the Vector software and practice using it . Thank you and Merry Christmas to all the great people of Stepcraftusa and Stepcraft Germany.
Awesome video...the closing comment "Now, all we have to do is save it to the CNC machine"...How do you do that?....dumb question. The CNC has a controller...is it wired to the computer or transfer files via USB. Seeing how the file is transferred and seeing the CNC started would take the video to the next level. I make tiny mother of pearl inlays for headstock and fretboards (right now by hand). The MoP pieces are generally 50mm Sq. x 2mm thick. Any recommendations on an appropriate sized machine?
This is awesome and a great teaching video!!! Keep them coming. I will be purchasing a M-1000 but this software was a question mark as the intuitiveness of it. It definitely looks doable for me.
Thanks for sharing, I'm new to the CNC world. Great job explaining things I picked up a couple new things even after watching many videos you covered a couple things that many have not. New sub here for sure!
Many thanks for nudging me to actually start using my CNC mill that I bought in 2013 and haven't cut anything on it as I just wanted to learn the CNC process after 60 years of conventional machining.......I think the popular little 3018 CNC router that is sold on EBAY, AMAZON and other areas for about A$200 would be the ideal start up to get anyone into making things with CNC without the blood, sweat and tears of the learning curve ..........no one in his right mind would contemplate writing G code for the tool path to do even a relatively simple project like this coaster.
It was interesting to see how you were able to draw and set up the Coaster using the software. Nicely done. I was hoping that you would be able to set up the piece in the mill and actually see it working. Learning the software is perhaps the biggest challenge to this SC. I have yet to see a video where the item is drawn out and then completed in a cnc mill. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. A newer version is out now and I either noticed something different. When I select the pocket hole style, that you picked. My 3d only pockets a circle like the pocket tool to the left of the whole pocket.i tried many times. Seems like both pocket styles do the same thing.
Nice simple video; would have been helpful to see all the way through though. Getting the final file prepped for UCCNC and how that process works. Still learning but that would have been a nice final touch.
When I do this project, the .25” pocket hole tool step leaves me with a pocket hole 1/4” deep but only about 1/4 wide, so it’s as if I have a dado instead of a pocket
If you download the free trial can you save the designs you make for later when you can afford to purchase? I understand you can't send to G-code but would want to save the output to file so that I am ready for some serious CNC'ing when I can get the actual program.
This is almost 3 years later I am watching this.. I am always fearful of buying something and then a newer/improved product comes along. I also realize companies aren't going to typically sabotage selling their current product (e.g. the M1000) a few months shy of a new/better/etc coming out.. but.. it would be great if there was a rough idea if there is an improved M1000 coming soon as I wont be buying for the next few months. Or is the M1000 like the best for the next 5 to 10 years and there is no reason not to purchase in the coming months? The build quality looks amazing. I can't imagine anything newer is going to be much better in terms of the material used to build the machine with. But maybe new/better motors, more precise, faster, quieter, longer lasting? Newer tools (e.g. more powerful laser head, better router head, 3D printer updated, etc)?
How would one clamp piece this small ? Make it larger like 12x12 and then jig it out ? Can this go directly to step craft or you have to setup the uccnc? I haven’t seen a video from start to finish including the operation
I followed your video but when I got to import the logo and resize it. It would make more than one logo on the program. Also when I clicked on the logo I got 6 dots to move the logo, not 4.
Hi. Good video! Im wondering, do you have a video concerning perfect circles? I just bought my cnc and i cant get perfect circles. Im getting ovals :( Can you please help me. Thanks in advance.
I have given up trying to find a CNC Company or person to do a wood carving project for me. It seems like there are two worlds in CNC. 1) folks that are mass producing a few items, with some personalization and people that just say NO to their customers. It’s a shame that some of the best CNC Work comes out of Russia…. You are also required to have an Item number… My futile attempts want to sell me CNC Equipment like Laguna… frustrating….
I wish there was a video showing the next steps to get the machine to cut what you have on your files. CNC process is not easy at all. i struggled from installing the software to where I'm at now. Just trying to cut my first piece in the CNC.
Hello. I'm interested in starting a side business making clocks. Nothing bigger than 2 feet in diameter. What machine, accessories and software will I need? I'd like to offer maybe 5 different shapes to keep it simple. The clock mechanism being flush is a must. Thanks.
Your products are amazing. Can I get financing on the D840 fully auto package to start my business?? I have lots of ima bima 610 cnc experience and this is like the mini version but better. Also, you guys should work on a vacuum pod system for the aluminum table.
Love the video. Such a shame VCarve won't let me beyond the pocket of the circle. It just hangs up and goes non-responsive. It's a vcarve thing tho, not anything to do here.
Just followed this tutorial, but it did not cut out the circle complete like yours, it only cut a single line, not sure what I did wrong as I followed exactly what you did a number of times
Man, I have no idea wtf I am doing wrong. I followed the exact steps you layout here, but for the circle, it ends up creating 2 toolpaths. Which ends up just making a circle line without pocketing out the whole center circle. It also wants to do 5 passes instead of 2. I even tried doing it without the logo and it still down a profile path despite selecting the pocket. I had 1/8in end mill selected, it cut out then logo just fine. But it will not do the circle correctly. I reset 3 times to make sure I was doing everything the exact same way you were. All the settings were the same, everything. It will not do the circle. Oh and when I set up to do the radius corners, it wanted to do 17 passes....
Mr. Stepcraft Inc. Amazing explanation: but I have a question, does this software work on all types of CNC? Well, I don't know anything about that, but I always wanted to have a CNC and bought a toy called 3018 CNC Engraving Machine from ebay and I have no idea how to use it, so I want to try it now with your valuable help in this video. Thanks in advance if this software is compatible.
having a problem with the computer communicating with the cnc machine. am i missing something? i have the program down but just cant get it to work with the cnc machine....
I'm interested in learning more about your product. However, I've sent messages through your Facebook account and have provided my contact info as requested. I have also emailed you guys through the email you have provided. No one has reached out.
If you CAN'T output to your machine, then it is just a demonstration of what it can do, AND is more than limited in its capability. That is why I uninstalled it immediately. How about teaching something that is basic, but that can be actually USED to make something the user wants.
I've had my CNC for over 2 months and this is the first video that has shown me anything to help me get started to understand WTF is going on, thanks.
Excellent video! You just won my subscription. This is the first video that I been able to find and the programming of a cnc. There is numerous videos on the unpacking and build up of the cnc’s.

I have a background in 2D CAD for control systems design and I have to say that this program seems very powerful underneath a very simplistic and easy to understand shell.
Why didn't you show how to move it to the machine. It would sure help
Erick , This video is GREAT and answered so many questions I had about CNC operation and software all done in like 19 minutes. I will download the Vector software and practice using it . Thank you and Merry Christmas to all the great people of Stepcraftusa and Stepcraft Germany.
I don’t own a CNC yet
so this video is very helpful
I will definitely download the program
and follow your step by step process
👍Thanks 👍

Does this program automatically write the programming, the gcode, based on the graphic design?
Thank you!! Makes CNC stuff seem much more approachable.
Thank you so much! By far the best explanation I have seen yet!
Thank you, very informative, In fact ,i'll try it step by step. Very new to CNC world.
Nice demo Erick. It doesn't get much easier than that. Hope to see you next weekend.
Thanks for the great tutorial on what I've thought was a lot harder than it is!
This was awesome, covered a bunch of questions, I don't want to spend 3K on a machine that sets in the shop and collects dust.
great video! would love to see more like that. cheers
Thank you for this educational video on CNC. This is really great
Very good jog making this video. I am sold. watched this on a recommendation. Thanks.
Please let me know anything else we can make videos on that would be helpful
Fantastic!!! Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Do you have full tutorials?
Yes, soon
This is a good video. I wish you would also show how the G code is created and how you install into CAM then build the part?
Many thanks for nudging me to actually start using my CNC mill that I bought in 2013 and haven't cut anything on it as I just wanted to learn the CNC process after 60 years of conventional machining.......I think the popular little 3018 CNC router that is sold on EBAY, AMAZON and other areas for about A$200 would be the ideal start up to get anyone into making things with CNC without the blood, sweat and tears of the learning curve ..........no one in his right mind would contemplate writing G code for the tool path to do even a relatively simple project like this coaster.

Always learn something new with your videos Erick thank you!
Good video but it would have been perfect if you would have shown how finish the process. How to get the file to the Cnc machine.
Got a bunch of cnc videos out now and yup - the computer is the sticky point!
This is quite amazing, A question ,how do i pocket cut on top of the line instead of pocketing out everything in the center of the circle
Thank you. A newer version is out now and I either noticed something different. When I select the pocket hole style, that you picked. My 3d only pockets a circle like the pocket tool to the left of the whole pocket.i tried many times. Seems like both pocket styles do the same thing.
Can you use aspire to make the same thing.

What if I have my own 3D modeling CAD system. Can I export an stl file and go from there?

He said in vid tape it down
using double sided tape or masking tape and CA glue
May be easy, but I am looking to do guitar bodies and necks, etc...show me how to do that.!!
Hi Erick, watching your videoes makes it not seem so scary, I am interested in a cbc machine but like you said the software is scary. Thanks Kevin
Your video is amazing but how do I send it to the machine this is where am stuck at the g code
Which cnc would u recommend that can cut deep for 1/2 inch mdf. One that is below $900 and can cut atleast an area of 24inch by 18inch
I second this.
I would look at the Longmill for around that price point.
Such a helpful tutorial. Thank you very much.
So I just stumbled across this software is just for routers I'm using a cnc milling machine Bench top? 4/24/21
Is there a difference between vectric and v carve pro??
Can you use Dark Mode?? The white space really hurts my eyes. Ty
I followed your video but when I got to import the logo and resize it. It would make more than one logo on the program. Also when I clicked on the logo I got 6 dots to move the logo, not 4.
Do you have distributor in Canada
Nice, in going to make this my first project,
Great video. Thanks!
How can I get one Sir?
Hi. Good video! Im wondering, do you have a video concerning perfect circles? I just bought my cnc and i cant get perfect circles. Im getting ovals :( Can you please help me. Thanks in advance.
Great suggestion!
Yes plz

Great video. I just downloaded V Carve desktop trial. When I get to Pocket Toolpath, my software is different than it shows in your video
Yeah they made some updates to the latest version. But it is very close. I will have to work on updating this video soon - Erick

please reach out to us via email or phone info@stepcraft.us or 203-556-1856 and we will be happy to help you
Make sure you include digital clocks or you will loose a big future market with the kids these days not being able to read a dial face clock. lol.
@@whatthehell2592 You're probably right!!
Problem is Vectric doesn't have subscription for people who can afford it all at once
Excellent video
Do you have a distributor in Australia?
Yes. Www.stepcraft.com.au
Hello. Ericks. Where i can find out these Stepcraft machines ?
www.stepcraft.us

I want a mini desktop cnc machine to do creative things, but I am not able to buy as such a machine😢🙁😞😩
I'm all up 2 learn especially if I can do what the machine is creating the SOA logo, only kidding, these are very serious machines

Is it possible to download vector software in Android phone for free trial?
Great video. Thank you.
Mr. Stepcraft Inc.
Amazing explanation: but I have a question, does this software work on all types of CNC? Well, I don't know anything about that, but I always wanted to have a CNC and bought a toy called

The software is windows based but will work with any windows computer or a MAC running Bootcamp
Trial is out of date now so unable to do the demo
email us and we will help you info@stepcraft.us
Oh Erick, do you have a video , showing how to load your coaster into laptop and convert to gender ? Thanks
Thank you so much
having a problem with the computer communicating with the cnc machine. am i missing something? i have the program down but just cant get it to work with the cnc machine....
there are hundreds of videos on Vectric. Show me how to use UCCNC
awesome, thank you!
Nice video, keep it up, thank you :)
Thank YOU!!!!!!!
Awesome!
Great thanks so much
How much does it cost to get started with CNC?
With our systems in the USA, it depends on the size machine but if you figure $2000 range to start you would be in the ballpark
Why are you not making videos? It’s the best marketing you have access to.
We are in the process of releasing a lot of new videos... Stay tuned
Nice Lesson
Thank you
did u have classes
in the USA, yes, please contact info@stepcraft.us
And do you have a demo with a free tool? :)
Nice, thanks!
Nice video
Thanks alot man
I'm interested in learning more about your product. However, I've sent messages through your Facebook account and have provided my contact info as requested. I have also emailed you guys through the email you have provided. No one has reached out.
Hi I am sorry to hear that, can you please contact me directly? erick.royer@stepcraft.us and I will personally take care of you
Just to let you know I am 83 and use the CNC. (A women)
Good
At first - I thought this guy was Harvy W. But it was not.
Anyone today that scared of computer has to be scared of life and need to go find a cave to hide in.

I will try to do it with Woodglut plans.
5MIN SCAM NOT NEEDED
I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
