    Movie touched on:
    1. Modern casual relationship ( the fling thing)
    2. Sexism
    3. Fat shaming( ranveers sister)
    4. Respect for elders
    5. Contrast between punjabi and bengali culture not exactly but like a overview or the extremes to say.
    6. English language considered being elite in modern cities and it also showed the hinglish usage .
    7.Modern cancel cultural.
    8.Toxic masculinity and gender roles
    9.Women bringing other women down.
    10. Standing for urself nd following your dreams
11.Marrige isn't just two people its two families
Beutiful scenes of resoect for elders nd culture.
    12. + All this was delivered so smoothly like I was laughing the whole time , it didn't get too preachy or cringe.
Deliveryof all messages were so satrical nd funny sometimes emotional.

I agree with you totally regarding the "rani shoving the finger aside that was pointed at her by rocky's dad". She didn't hit him. His Dad was insulting her and her family while pointing fingers at her. I was mad that Rocky fought with her and broke up with her. I thought Rani should have addressed that with Rocky Later on instead of Apologizing to him. The set in the Durga Puja Scene looked more Like a Sanjay Leela Bhansali Set than a Rajamouli set because it was meticulously color coordinated and aesthetically pleasing.

In Hindu Culture Shoving The Finger Aside With Force of Elders is Equal to Hitting Them Alia Character Crossed The Line There Her Family Also Said The Same Thing

I agree as well.. I dont think what Alia did was actual "hitting" but it was right on the line... she did it very forcefully.. that was the trigger.
The apology at the end was needed because it was a mutual apology.. both of them decided to be the better versions of themselves..
Like they said in the movie itself.. "nobody is perfect.. but we are all learning"

Actually, while I agree with her sentiments, shoving his hand away was disrespectful. I'm not an Indian, but in my country, smacking aside an elder's hand like that is wrong. There are other ways to express anger. I'm glad they both apologized to each other at the end 😊

    • @Youalrightboi
      @Youalrightboi 9 месяцев назад +7

Nope it was quite insulting . She was talking back to Tijori and that too loudly , Rocky didnt intervene there . If she had pointed her fingers to him ,he might not have said anything even then. But she got physical . And it crossed the line. till it was verbal it was excusable but then it got physical .

Loved the watch along with Steph and Korbin.. you guys are so much fun. And I love and adore this movie. Great fun with super messaging. We forget that people watch movies in villages and small towns who grow up with regressive mentality and if they understand it's wrong through an entertaining movie, then mission accomplished.

  • @pranjalparashar8445

You need to recognize the reason why these films work in India. Most Indians want a simple, fun movie they enjoy over the weekend with their family. This was an entertaining watch. Ranveer's character was very likable and had some social messages. Also, I can't emphasize enough how much talking 'proper' English matters in India. It is a barometer used to judge your class and where you stand in society. Having the lead character like that was a great decision. Asian cultures are deeply rooted in family values, so the redemption arc might seem a bit stretched to an American audience, but props to Korbin for acknowledging the cultural differences and not dragging about that angle of the story.

Being a Mumbaikar I didn't even get as to why KJo mentioned only West Delhi coz such sort of **chaapri** guys are found pan-India....!!!! I'm sorry if I hurted your sentiments..!!

Then i saw your comment , so i didn't understand how it was defending rocky's character and how being an Indian he is relatable or anything as the original comment . I was actually confused and not hurt.

All the characters justified their roles. The crown goes to the dialogue writer of Ranveer Singh. Ranvir looked exactly like a Delhi guy. I have met such guys in real life but they lack c h ara cter but in the film Ranveer is a gentleman and has a golden heart. The dialogues were hilarious and the entire crowd in the theater was cheering and laughing.

Karan Johar's best film without a doubt. The music needed a lot of work especially when compared to his other films....But some of the most underrated songs were the best songs of the movie for example ro len de that plays in the BG during the funeral scene...Tum kya mile definitely grew on me from when I first heard it.I came out of the theatre with tum kya mile playing in the background in my mind 😂 n that continued for a couple of days..
U may love kjo movies or hate them bt u have to admit that kjo movies have this strange factor that they can be rewatched over n over again...I have seen Kkhh and k3g hundreds of times though they r far from being my fav films..I m guilty of watching Kank n SOTY easily more than thrice though they are absolutely terrible films...I dont know what it is
I wanted to go back n watch rocky aur rani again in the theatres but later just decided to wait for it to come on OTT so that I cud download it n watch it as many times as I want.

I'm from South and while I agree that Rani didn't raise her hand, as everyone in the movie keep saying, but what she did would be considered disrespectful, specially considering that it was in a public setting. When she pushes away Tijori's hand, with so much force specially, it comes off as if she is disregarding him and showing him up. Now, don't get me wrong. I absolutely hated everything Tijori said and did in that scene but in a sense, I think they all meant getting physical in the argument was the issue. You can scream and shout and try to make your point but getting physical was the issue I believe. So yeah, I don't think it's a north south thing but more of a perspective thing.
This scene made me think for so long as to which side I'm on and tbh I don't think I still have an answer. I feel like both of them are wrong but also I can see why the reactions from the characters would be as such

Onscreen chemistry does not translate to real-life chemistry. Just because they're good on screen doesn't mean it would work in real life. Saying that they married the wrong person just sounds very disrespectful to their personal lives and choices

Korbin is such a biased Ranveer's fan, everything he sees Ranveer in he likes it, Ranveer Singh overacts in every single movie. Such a nuisance he is.

Literally the ONLY comments you've left on this channel are against Ranveer hating on him 😂 such a miserable insufferable life you must be leading if you constantly keep hating on a person who doesn't even know you exist.... pathetic life you must have full of only sadness

Ranveer was loud and over the top more than anyone else in the movie… it was irritating. And no way that a rich kid will be ever raised to be as stupid as he was presented. 🤦🏽‍♀️

    • @Charlaontheroad

@@kvm6 even as fiction, it is unbelievable... rich kids are mostly snotty and smartasses and have a certain way of speaking, walking and an aura of being rich. @@Charlaontheroad i agree....the first thing that crazy rich Indian parents do is to educate their child in English and make potential arrangements for them to study in the US/UK as a status symbol. The rich Indians are highly westernized. Like how can someone not know that Bengal is in East India..!!!!!

I have never seen a more biased channel/reviews than these. Just so much pretence, no genuineness involved. Whatever they hear in the interviews of actors/directors, they give a review about it enhancing the same perspectives. These foreign channels are making Indians a fool, but what can we do, we will always love white skin. King live India 🙏🏻
