this guy is one of the best reviewers. super honest and thorough. I actually met him randomly at a shawarma restaurant of all places one time in a small town while i was on a road trip. super good guy. i was with my wife and he sent us over a zucchini loaf for dessert
@@lindseyhunt1090garagebYeah I can tell he's a solid guy. I'm so sick of reviewers glossing over or forgiving the negatives of new devices at launch. It's a lot of money for some of us.
I did this also!! It forces the one lense no matter what MP you choose, it never wants to use the 200mp lense. I am so pissed off at Samsung I'll never buy another Samsung phone, this S24 Ultra has been a joke since it was released. Camera sucks, audio sucks. So sad and I wasted a lot of money on it.
People have to start realizing 50MP and above just doesn't exist at such a small scale, it would be insanely expensive to make for the manufacturer. Instead, manufacturers lie, and tell you their 4-15MP sensor is like 100MP. They just UPSCALE everything (sometimes with AI, sometimes with a blocky anti-aliasing) to make it LOOK like a super-high resolution sensor, but if you look closer at the pictures on a computer, it's a no-brainer.
There's tons of camera apps that work better, so far I'm really liking Motion Cam as you can actually record RAW which is pretty crazy for a phone. I was just testing the phone as is because there will always be some kind of third party apps that work better
I have terrible post processing experience with 200 and 50 mp, i turn it off from setting and nothing changes, i shoot at 12 mp usually because of that, any suggestion? 😢
Has anyone tested how much the physical lenses can actually resolve? Most DSLR and mirrorless camera lenses struggle to resolve beyond 20 MP when carefully tested, so I'm having a hard time believing a camera phone lens can do 50, let alone 200MP. Then then again, I haven't been keeping up with what kind of technology they are using to make these lenses.
Hey mate, thanks for the content. I tried the same test and didn't encounter these issues. I taped my lens and got the same result on 20X zoom on the camera. Can you maybe real quick check if the new update fixed this issue or am I not testing it correctly?
They just updated the firmware the other day that fixed everything. I had a video planned for the 25th but then this update came out so I've been working on a follow up. Basically, everything from my first video till now has been fixed. So all of the issues that everyone said didn't exist, Samsung released fixes for them in the release notes, and after testing it all. This phone is mind blowing. It's everything I expected it to be at launch.
@@frozennorthproductions thanks a lot. That's my experience too. I don't know why everyone was is denial. For me the grainy screen problem is not solved, I suspect it is a hardware issue.
Interesting topic. I would suggest for future content to use a screen recording through OBS or something instead of using an external monitor to capture your monitors - the constant motion and screen moiré effect is quite distracting.
Lol, legit. The AI is taking over. I don't mind it, cause the S23 Ultra features are awesome now that it's refined. But this is like an early adopter tax where all this new stuff doesn't work well, and it's forced. Would have appreciated an option to just turn it off entirely until it's advanced enough that it's actually useful cause it's ruining how good this camera actually is.
I knew it. You're one of the only guys putting out some truth on this.

the camera has micro stuttering all the time
Try some different camera apps. Maybe even a gcam port.

Samsung fixed all of the camera issues in the latest update, the thing is flawless now
Why do all my pictures look AI generated, especially when zooming in to see details?
50 and 200mp for me is terrible in all cases. From zoom to quality. I can only use 12mp decently.

Hi, are you talking about march update? I still have not got it 😢

Great review 👏🏼
Hi, could you give any universal settings for taking photo and videos on Galaxy S24U?
Just use the auto mode if you want something quick, and disable the bixby vision thing that tries to predict editing for your photos as you take them.
This is like the fake moon zoom stuff all over again.
