The vestige drop mechanic kind of already existed in the game but in a different way: Brimstone ring. The only difference is that there is only 1 main drop and first 2 drops are invisible.
So the only difference is that they're totally different. Got it.

1% is massive in most MMOs these days
Ends up being a lot when you kill the boss 1000 times
when you play the same character with the same gear for thousands of hours, 1% saving in thousands of hours is a LOT of hours saved. The raw amount of time a 1% dps increase provides is significant to a lot of complete degenerate sweats.
This ring is more like 2% and a 2% saving in 100 hours is 2 hours saved. If all you do is live and breath runescape, you literality saved 2 hours of your real life every 100 hours you play if you gain 2% dps. Gaining back 2 hours of your life isn't nothing.
It's a matter of perspective, most sane people don't care and see runescape as a way to waste time, but for the top players real life is a waste of time and runescape is the goal, so any time save is a significant one. It's a very unhealthy lifestyle but that's how these content creators live.

rs3 has had the same kind of bad luck mitigation for a while now, means you wont go 5x the droprate or some shit like that. Alot of this update is rs3 inspired and thats huge, gotta steal the amazing parts of rs3 for osrs. Very good stuff
I mean they've done this for a while though, but this goes both ways. RS3 also took the idea of fossil island (anachronia) from OSRS and massively expanded upon it. I'm surprised they haven't taken Zeah yet.
@@cannedsquasher5923 Let's also not forget there's the Inferno from OSRS which inspired the Tzekhaar-Front in RS3 - which are both phenomenal in their own right. Seeing Zuk walking around is dope as fuck.

I think lightbearer is still better in most cases. A few max hits might matter in pvp, and very specific pvm? Maybe? If you have spec transfer alt?? Magus good tho.
It's not just a few max hits over the light bearer for the ultor ring, it's a few max hits over the b-ring which was quite a few max hits over the light bearer

just camp CG for 100 hours, no gear needed, only costs your sanity :)

Ive always wondered what the big deal with a +2 max hit is? Like is it worth spending how ever much to but the ring to hit +2 more on your max hit? Or have I got it wrong where instead of just increasing the max hit, it increases all your other attacks too. For example, lets say with a normal B ring you hit a 5, with the ultor ring would that go to a 7? If thats the case then I get the demand.
Increasing max hit increases dps noticeably. You gain more dps from the extra damage possible, and having higher max hits will ALSO increase your accuracy due to how strength works in game
Your avarage hit is 1/2 of your max hit because there's an equal distribution, so yes you increase your damage on all your attacks.

@@j0rd0increasing max hit definitely does not increase your dps exponentially. A +2 max hit is a smaller % DPS increase if your starting max hit is 50 than if it's 25; exponential scaling would mean the opposite.
This is the way RS calculstes damage:
1 You get an acurracy roll, this determines if yoy hit a 0 or a damsge hitsplat
2 You get a damage roll, it rolls from 0 to your max hit with the same likelihood.
So yea,max hit translates directly in to your dps. Also max hit in PvP is really important, your opponent can still eat at 1 hp, so going for the KO is the way to go.
How can you hit THAT EASY deadzones in a boss and actually die to it :D

Is it just me, or does 3m + NMZ points sound a lot better than 400-600M for +1 max hit. I feel like that DPS could also be made up by Lightbearer and spec weapons.
A ring is only 625k nmz pts if I’m not mistaken. But no, all the rings (maybe not so much the new b ring) are incredible upgrades, especially for mage and range where this is the first time ring slots give increased damage and not just accuracy

@@RDB33anytime you are camping one style and you are not reliant on defense reducing special attacks, the new rings will be bis (with a few rare exceptions)
3m coins to buy a berserker + 625k NMZ to get a comparable ring to Ultor with bosses that aren't Spoon Protected..... for -1 Max Hit.
Ultor should be stronger for the hassle to make

The quest versions of these bosses are like galvek level of difficulty. The biggest problem you’ll have is learning whisperer and maybe vardos axe movements. Duke and levi are pretty easy in the quest.
@@zxyen1629 dude the way people have been talking about these bosses, they make it sound tougher than some of the raid bosses. Galvek has been the hardest boss I faced on RuneScape by far.

@@jasonolson7966 Galvek was super easy and i did it as an ironman with lvl 80 range and a rune cbow... there was nothing special about it. It's just a dps race and if you get unlucky at start of fight with ruby bolt specs, just restart it.
And I'm saying this as someone who has never touched any raids, GWD bosses, or any difficult content really. Dont even know how to prayer flick properly. So if you can't even kill galvek then you have a problem
