As a kid growing up watching movies like sky captain, the rocketeer and just being a fan of steam-punk, retro-future aesthetic, this was a dream come true. It’s a shame that they ditched this for finding nemo.
This was the graetist ride in TDS. The story was thrilling, the music was epic, and the effects was old but very very welldone. Saddly, for some reason it closed and turn into a finding nemo ride.(WTF)
I remember going on this ride and being completely shocked and in awe with how freaking cool it was. When I heard they were replacing it, I was absolutely furious. It was a gem of a ride, and if they were to just bring it back a couple of times, or even have a separate part of the ride be dedicated towards it, I'd be more happy about the new one that took its place....
Bloody hell, When the missile crashes into the ship, that's probably the best practical effect I've ever seen. And on a SIMULATOR no less! This ride managed to make you feel like you were in literal danger! It's a shame to see it go. But from what I've heard, the Finding Nemo ride isn't all that bad. But there's no way it can top this.
@@yukineswan ... have you seen their latest trackless rides rise of the resistance and mickey and minnie? They literally combine three styles of riding, create interactive queues, relied way less on cgi and more on animatronics and live sets I- just... shush no they havent.
I rode Nemo and it's bad :( Just characters kissing you for 5mn, it's lame and they was little queue (15/20mn) all day. Wish they would have kept this !
Sad this had to go. I’ve only been on it once, and that was when I was little so I hardly remember anything. Don’t get me wrong, Nemo searider is adorable and great, but this looks like so much more fun. I wish this was still around:/

2:35-2:38 I've heard that alarm sound before in "The Empire Strikes Back. It was in Echo Base, heard when Han and Chewie are trying to fix the Millenium Falcon...only to have a blow out with a fire starting.
This looks pretty awesome! Ive never seen such a great animated and designed ride in Germany yet... just these normal Films and then the Simulation vibrates. No Special effects inside the Car like lights or a obstacle comes out of teh Wall... sadly.
So they basically pulled a Stitch's Great Escape on this didn't they. They replaced it with a recognizable IP instead of the original and more thrilling ride...
At least this is an original attraction NOT based on an existing movie or show by Disney. I enjoy this WAY more than a dumb Nemo ride they re-themed it with.
This shows how exactly unpredictable a hurricane or typhoon can be. Hurricane hunters do this all the time and they often have trouble getting to the eye.
It was! I used to always love it as a kid :) The effects were great and felt so real - the nemo ride is more child-centered so I don't really like it all that much.
+Karstens Creations I mean they have a point though, Disney's been relying on IPs more nowadays, which isn't a bad thing, but It'd be nice to see some more of that creative spirit that they used to show when they built awesome original rides like this, Again, it's not bad that they're using IPs, but what made TDS an amazing park was the amazing original rides that they created for it, so I'd hardly consider their comment as "snarky and bitter"
Why can't the U.S. Parks have new and immersive attractions combining motion, visual effects, and physical effects. Tokyo disneysea is doing everything right, and we need this in the U.S.

But, every them zones don't have to sell character. There are different roles for them zones. character selling is a role of TDL or the fantasy springs. Storm riders's role is set identity of Disney sea. And also it is more propitable in long persepective.

I rode the Nemo and friends ride and you know what it’s pretty fun. darla caught us and it was scary to see her grabbing us and holding us.
