Maggie, Hi! Need your help. I have shoulder and back problems. I also stay in tropics where it rains everyday and security i.e. pick pocketing and bag snatching a major issue hence zipped top closure is a must. I’m debating between Speedy b 25 in emprinte vs Speedy b25 in DE. Speedy b 25 in emprinte looks a little dressed up as well as low maintainence but is slightly heavy. Whereas Speedy b 25 in DE the strap digs into my shoulder thereby I will have to buy an XL Bandouilere strap seperately (additional cost). In both the speedys I will have to buy an organiser not primarily due to looks but functionality. As both Speedy’s have a tendency to “sag” thereby pulling the bag downwards and hurting my shoulders! As organiser distributes the weight evenly, I need to purchase an organizer thereby being an additional cost for me. How HEAVY does Speedy b 25 in emprinte with the organiser become compare to Speedy b25 in DE with the organiser? How durable is the Emprinte leather? Does it scratch easily with one’s nails or regular jewellery i.e. bangles, bracelets, watch, ring etc.? I’m 5’3” on curvy side with traditional and conservative dressing i.e. I don’t wear jeans, trousers & skirts!! Which of the two do you think will suit me more? Thanks,
I love my Speedy B25 in DE. My strap (because I've worn it for over 5 years) have become softer, but it's not like the vachetta strap in softness or flexibility. So, if I'm carrying a lot in my bag, it will dig into my shoulders. So, when I'm carrying a lot, I just hold it in my hands. I love the Speedy B25 in Empreinte, but I don't have it anymore since I didn't like how the Empreinte printing in the older model faded over time with use and how it lost its shape. So, I sold it before this happened. It seems like the newer Empreinte Speedy B25 is lighter than the older model and LV logos may not fade as much since the imprinting is on the outside pocket and not being stretched as in the older model. I agree that I would definitely use a bag organizer. The Empreinte Speedy 25 opens much wider and is much easier to get things out due to better visibility. Both leather and canvas can wear (I've scratched the canvas handle with my jewelry and I'm pretty sure that you can do the same with the Empreinte). That said, I like my canvas because it is lighter, I can fold it for travel, and my strap has become softer with use. But, the newer Empreinte Speedy is easier to use due to wider opening and more flexible strap and outer pocket (I love the outer pocket for the phone). One more thing..... it seems like the canvas bags are not only cheaper but retain its value more than the LV leather bags. I'd recommend going to Ebay or consignment websites and look at older Empreinte bags and see if you like how they wear with lots of use (lots of use is key not occasional use). I don't think that LV will ever change the classic canvas Speedy design but I know that they've changed the design of the Empreinte Speedy once...... I'm sorry I'm not so helpful...... xx
Myfavoritethings Thank you for your prompt response. You have answered my majority of questions. Canvas trimmings whether treated leather or vachetta don’t agree with me. I had bought Totally MM in Mono around 2014 and had to sell it because vachetta straps dug into my shoulders. A year later I bought Brea BB in vernis which was for occassional use but comfortable for me. Hence, I’m anyway not planning to use Speedy 25 in emprinte for everyday use. I’m primarily buying it for occassional use especially when I have to go to weddings and keep my jewellery with me in my handbag rather than Hotel room. Thanks once again!
@@LMA-jf5pk I think if it's for occasional wedding use, I'd definitely get the Empreinte. In my opinion, the Empreinte Speedy looks much more fancy. My speedy DE canvas 25 is my workhorse. It is my "go to" travel bag. :-)

I sold this empreinte 25 and bought a Speedy Empreinte 20 (it has an outside pocket). I felt that this empreinte leather gets very soft with use and have seen many of like that on resale market. That said, I think it'll help to use a bag organizer to give it more shape. Also, I've seen this style with the imprinting fading with a lot of use and stretching. I don't have that problem with the newer Speedy 20 since the outside pocket does not get pulled by the handles (the handles are placed above the pocket). They fit a ton and is very versatile since this version allows the middle strap to be taken out thereby making it a shorter shoulder bag as well as a longer crossbody bag. The newer Empreinte leather speedy does not have 3 parts to the strap. Hope this helped!

I sold my monogram Speedy 25 when I bought the Pochette Metis in reverse monogram (which I no longer have), and I miss the Speedy B25 in monogram sometimes. I have the SpeedyB 20 and I love the versatility of this bag, but it's no longer made. I've bought the Speedy B25 in DE twice - I sold the slightly used one and bought a brand new one - I love that it's so carefree and light. But I also love the monogram too. The canvas bags are so much lighter in weight than the Empreinte version - I don't think I would recommend the older Empreinte Speedy (one I'm showing in this video) because I've seen too many preloved bags which have lost their shape (I don't like that look as much) and sometimes has fading imprinting. That said, I've also seen DE bags with wear in corners where the red is peeking through or the checkered pattern is wearing off a little -- but I guess this can happen with wear...... I see less of that with the monogram speedies. Oh dear... I hope I didn't confuse you more. I think it really depends on personal preference at the end. 😊
