Just some guy from Romania here. I listened in on the whole meeting, since unfortunately US politics is incredibly important for our security. I was happy to see that there are quite a few representatives that understand the gravity of the events in Ukraine not just for us, but also for the US, and I dare say the whole world. While the western EU seems to have (finally) understood as well, it's going to take time for them to recover from the peace dividend period. Until such a point at the very least, US aid is critical. My grandfather always hoped to see the day when the Americans would come and help us get rid of the Soviets. Sadly, he died before that happened, but for whatever it's worth, thanks for your support.
Nobody - at least if they are sane - should be a fan of Stalin. Or of the Soviet occupation of Eastern Europe. On the other hand, maybe you should have asked your grandfather (may he rest in peace) what the Romanians were doing in Odessa, and later in the city that is today called Volgograd, during WWII. And who they went along with. And what they did when they were over there. Not a good look, as we say in English. Domestic politics completely aside, the United States has NO, I repeat NO national security or geopolitical interest in the Ukraine. Period, end of story. And as a USSR / Russia / FSU expert with over a half century experience in the field, including a deep knowledge of Russian (and German, and French) and many years of travelling to as well as working and living in the USSR, Russia, and other FSU countries I can assure you that today's Russia is NOT the Soviet Union, regardless of what your grandpapa may have said. Or, for that matter, what Ms. Sherrill may think.
@DavidDuVivier My grandfather was an officer who fought the Nazis in World War 2. If is very disappointing to watch the American government fund and arm neo-Naughty groups to appease its blood lust and silly Russophobia. The Canadian government vets and celebrates Ukrainian Nazis from World War 2.
@@garybeaton3802 Yea his grandfather hope in vain because US leaders (Roosevelt) "sold" eastern part of Europe to Soviet Union as "reward" of soviet contribution part on WWII efort!
Wow all that experience and you've learnt nothing. I thought the Americans were ignorant and arrogant hypercrites but you win the gold medal in stupidity and ignorance
Thank you. To anyone that understands the gravity of the situation, Mike Johnsons delays are nothing short of infuriating. It's insane to me that he acts like this is somthing he can take time on. There will never be an opportunity to pass the bill that is better then now

The Ukrainians and Russians had a signed draft in April 2022 that agreed to: Ukrainian neutrality, respect for the Crimea referendum (Crimea joins Russia) and adherence to the Minsk agreements.
@@nevbones4599 Bullshit. Tell me. How many agreements did Russia sign that guaranteed Ukraine's sovereignity? Plenty. Budapest Memorandum, Belavezha Accords, Charter of Paris for a new Europe etc. etc. How many did they honor? None.

"waste" money abroad? Man, that's as shortsighted as it gets. And you'll live to see why. When Ukraine loses, it'll become a lot more expensive for America. But we all know that you're in a downfall anyway.
My brother, I've been to Ukraine 3 times. I have seen injured soldiers in L'viv and Kyiv. In Kyiv, I saw a mother pushing her son around near Liberty Square, Maiden square and he was cut in half from the waist down. Ukrainians are dying for liberty and freedom, not unlike what the patriotic militia soldiers of General Geroge Washington did. What Ukraine needs are the weapons to make it a fair fight. Good Ukrainian men are dying. The conscription age was just lowered to 25 years of age. Please see fit to rethink it through again.
@johnglover3682 better find yourself a source of accurate info on Ukraine rather than relying on this congresswoman and the Mainstream media. Try @historylegends. @judgingfreedom is very good too.
My brother, the phrase was coined by David Halberstam in his book The Best and the Brightest. It was Sec of Defense McNamara of the Kennedy and then the Johnson administrations and a bunch of number crunchers who thought they could win the Vietnam war. The Best and Brightest was not intended as a good term by Halberstam but was meant in a very negative and with irony. Funny no one read his book and the Kennedy and McNamara crowd turned the phrase in a positive reference. Ukraine is not Vietnam.
@johnglover3682 Ukraine is not Vietnam but it is a proxy war all the same. Big difference is that few Americans are dying in this one while Ukrainians are being slaughtered and the country destroyed.
The USA is NOT the leader of the free world or democracies, in fact its not a democracy. The arrogance of the USA never ceases to amaze me. Like India the USA plays at democracy and the current government is corrupt and autocratic, one step from despotic.
How can one man ,the speaker hold a nation to ransom and he is not even a king or president? That's not democracy its sheer lunacy and verging on dictatorship.
