Back in the early to mid-90s when I was originally collecting the GI Joe stuff this is one of those pieces that eluded me. It was nice seeing a review about it frankly it was nice to see what I didn't get when I was collecting it. Thank you
Thrasher was described as a well to do kid, Lacrosse in the 80s was a prep school sport. His molded padding and gloves are very much inspired by Lacrosse equipment
Love this vehicle and driver combo. Never had it as a kid, but God I wish I had. I had every other dread knock and all the vehicles minus the sears exclusives. Only complaint, I wish you would have showed its media appearances
Excellent as always. My Thunder Machine is on it's way to me in the mail for my 40th birthday. Never owned this as a kid. Stoked to own it as an adult. Keep up the great work.
Got my Thunder Machine as a birthday gift too. Wish I still had it, since I have almost all of the vintage Dreadnocks now. Thought it was strange that Thrasher had only the Lacrosse stick as an accessory. Thankfully, Hasbro gave him a 9mm pistol and a knife for his 2005 comic pack action figure.
i always had my own personal theory that the Thunder Machine was made of left over Cobra parts because of the cobra emblem. I dont believe i ever seen anything to support that though. still was one of my favorites. I was always a sucker for the vehicles with the rubber wheels
I always made Copperhead, and the Moccasin part of the Dreadnoks crew his name made him fit in...loved the Dreadnoks when l was a kid l lived super close to a Target so l always got first pick when it got stocked...miss them days..all my Joe's went missing in action.
Wonder if the back jet was inspired by the Ford in the beginning of Buckaroo Banzai? Thrasher: Football pads and a padded groin protector. Very much straight out of Road Warrior.
I can't get Thrasher to hold his weapon. Is his thumb brittle? Is it known to break easily? If so, does it help to warm up the action figure in order to prevent breakage? I'm really affraid to put the Lacrosse Stick in his hand for display!
This review of the Dreadnok Thunder Machine and Thrasher is so cool. Where did you get those motorcycles for Ripper, Buzzer and Torch ? I want to get those motorycycles for my Dreadnoks.
Why are there protection for the back wheels and not the front. Does it supposed to run with the jet engine or is it just a booster. It's another weird vehicle like the havok and not street legal.
We got this toy by spoiled rotten as a child ways. By the expense of my little brother's birthday. I said I would tell he said a bad word (it was one time) if he didn't buy it. I was a terrible brother in that moment. And the rest of the ride home.
easily in my top five for g.i. joe vehicles. the thundermachine was such an AWESOME toy and fit the dreadnaughts perfectly. I do think your a tad forgiving with thrasher tho...well the paintjob might have been impressive for a joe of that era..he was a complete lame ass. his outfit didnt scream menacing street punk at all...the dude kinda looks like a male prostitute. His weapon is one of the worst weapons i can think of for the joes.
I've just tested the Thunder Machine with modern Dreadnock figues. Monkeywrench fits in okay, with his head at the right level to look through the windscreen, but when I tried it with Buzzer, his head was stuck up in the roof.
I have to give this one a pass as far as the realism of the jet engine since the Dreadnoks are a group who I wouldn't expect to place operator safety at a premium.
The Dreadknoks were Antifa before Antifa were Antifa And you're missing Zarana and Zanzibar from your anarchist-terrorist collection too The 25th Anniversary addition is cool as it updates and contains all the main 14 Dreadknoks including Gnawgahyde, Road Pig, Storm Rider, Zanya, and Burn-Out.

same here, i just bought 2 of them and might get anohter

I had it as a kid.... Absolutely the awesome-est vehicle for a GI Joe kid as I was
I have it too but is incomplete but I love it best toy ever I was obsessed with the design
i always had my own personal theory that the Thunder Machine was made of left over Cobra parts because of the cobra emblem.
I dont believe i ever seen anything to support that though. still was one of my favorites. I was always a sucker for the vehicles with the rubber wheels
It featured the Cobra symbol in the animated series before Thrasher even joined the Dreadnoks. Animation error most likely.
This was the best Dreadnok vehicle ever!!!!! Thanks for your awesome review! (As always!!!)
I always made Copperhead, and the Moccasin part of the Dreadnoks crew his name made him fit in...loved the Dreadnoks when l was a kid l lived super close to a Target so l always got first pick when it got stocked...miss them days..all my Joe's went missing in action.
I remember getting this for Christmas back in 86 and it was one of my favorite Vehicles in the cobra line
I had some other vehicles, but the ones I liked best were the Tomahawk, the Night Raven and the Thunder Machine.
Where did you get those motorcycles for the Dreadnoks?
Wonder if the back jet was inspired by the Ford in the beginning of Buckaroo Banzai? Thrasher: Football pads and a padded groin protector. Very much straight out of Road Warrior.
Wow they're way more detail than I remember I had one of these! High quality toy!
Excellent review. Awesome piece. One I don't have yet. Unusually enthusiastic about something, which is refreshing.
The Wild Child Thrasher is one of the coolest vintage figures and the Thunder Machine is awsome
I had this as a kid. I loved it , still do! Didn't realize until now that the jet intake is 6 inches away from driver and passengers head.
Of all my toys, this one took the most abuse, but surprisingly nothing on it broke. It got pretty scratched up, but was a very durable vehicle.
Great review found one last year just missing the steering wheel loiking great with the dreadnocks
I quit collecting after xmas '85 so I missed this one. Really cool vehicle and good review!
You old bastard I was 2
It's interesting that stickers were used to depict the headlights and other lights. That wasn't common in GI Joe vehicles.
IIRC, this also used paper as opposed to vinyl stickers, which was also somewhat unusual.
I can't get Thrasher to hold his weapon. Is his thumb brittle?
Is it known to break easily?
If so, does it help to warm up the action figure in order to prevent breakage?
I'm really affraid to put the Lacrosse Stick in his hand for display!
I've got one coming next week. Super excited!!
Yeah, I had this vehicle too. I thought it was an awesome Cobra vehicle. It looked cool & heavily fortified
Awesome but can you please do a review on the Dreadnok Cycle as well
79-81 Trans Am. They were redesigned in 82. Think Knight Rider.
I always think of Saul Rubinek when I see or play with this figure.
This review of the Dreadnok Thunder Machine and Thrasher is so cool. Where did you get those motorcycles for Ripper, Buzzer and Torch ? I want to get those motorycycles for my Dreadnoks.

BAD ASS REVIEW OF THE THUNDER MACHINE!!!!!
I remember it from GI Joe the movie you throw a bunch of vipers or dreadlocks on there it looks very cool
Dreadnoks got salvage rights to Cobra vehicles destroyed in combat if they flew the Cobra colors.
The best COBRA vehicle ever, it was weird but realistic at the same time.
14:20 Where did you get those motorbikes?? They're perfect!
Did it run by the jet engine by itself? Or were the wheels powered by a transmission too?
Just picked one up! Oddly enough, no stickers, at all. Any ideas where I can get new decals?
Toyhax has them. I think about 15 dollars. Plus you could find a good scan and print them off on sticky back printer paper.
I wonder if the tires on the Thunder Machine are rated for super sonic speeds?
One of my favorite vehicles, not surprisingly it's a Dreadnok one. Now where did I put my chocolate donuts and grape soda?
Another really well done review. I can't wait til the next one.
Thanks! The next one has more bare feet in it.
I really liked this review, well done! ...other good one's (which I also enjoyed) include both the Joe's Locust and Joe's rolling thunder!
We got this toy by spoiled rotten as a child ways.
By the expense of my little brother's birthday.
I said I would tell he said a bad word (it was one time) if he didn't buy it.
I was a terrible brother in that moment. And the rest of the ride home.
my favorite vehicle the Thunder machine my brothers had this car I had to reprint Blanca's beast machine
Much like monkey wrench I never much cared for the character, but the action figure and the thunder machine are unbelievable.
I got this toy for my christmas present at 5 years old. I have thrasher, but I need to replace the vehicle
One of my favorite figures. Am I alone here? Lol
Where's the grape soda machine??
this little car can hold 10 figs! that has to be a record right? for a small vehicle?
Commander I knew many punks in my weird life they was cool but off course times was bad , most of them was musics .
I love this car, so hard to find
Excellent
Best gi joe toy except skystriker
Leave it to the Drednoks to tow something right behind a jet exhaust.
It’s his pimp cane!
I wrote most of the Wikipedia article on this thing.
In the Comics books it looks Longer !!!
easily in my top five for g.i. joe vehicles. the thundermachine was such an AWESOME toy and fit the dreadnaughts perfectly. Man this seemed way bigger in my 8 year old hands!
Guess we know who won when the Thunder Machine went up against K.I.T.T.
my thunder machine kept having the rear wheels come off
Thrasher reminded me of Mick Jagger
Tires are worn in the center. i guess the drednots over inflated their tires
Thrasher's the only G.I. Joe character I undoubtedly don't like.
I own a thunder machine 💛🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✔
I remember hating the expression on this dude's face, and I still kinda hate it. Great detail on the sculpt though!
21k pound jet engine!!
Ok one thing u really should do is find out if the anniversary joes fit in old vehicle's like the bbts exclusive fig fits
Good idea! I don't have a lot of modern figures, but I could test-fit them in the vehicles, if that's something people want to see.
I've just tested the Thunder Machine with modern Dreadnock figues. Monkeywrench fits in okay, with his head at the right level to look through the windscreen, but when I tried it with Buzzer, his head was stuck up in the roof.
Thrasher was supposed to be fat not pumped.
I have to give this one a pass as far as the realism of the jet engine since the Dreadnoks are a group who I wouldn't expect to place operator safety at a premium.
Tim F it’s a lot more realistic than features on other vehicles in the Joe line.
The Thunder Machine is stupid. Exactly why it works, only the Dreadnoks could make a Corvette, truck, and jet engine...a tank? Brilliant.
Es horriblemente feo el coche el diseño y las mechas que le han hecho al muñeco que parece un travesti.
The Dreadknoks were Antifa before Antifa were Antifa
And you're missing Zarana and Zanzibar from your anarchist-terrorist collection too
The 25th Anniversary addition is cool as it updates and contains all the main 14 Dreadknoks including Gnawgahyde, Road Pig, Storm Rider, Zanya, and Burn-Out.
I absolutely hated Thrasher. From his lame lacrosse stick to his fem midriff, he was a ridiculous figure.
