I think she is just the best.. As a person as well as a sax player. Saw her yrs ago at a tiny venue ... 200 seats.. in Natick MA call the TCAN. Blew us all away.. she signed autographs and tk pix w all who wanted after.. and I stayed hr or longer after that3. Met her parents.. her dog.. friends. Unreal. Saw her again 2 or so yrs later at Berkeley School of Music in Boston. Great show.. much bigger place. I waited in line to see her again... She remembered me which blew my mind.. I hope to go to her Dec 30 show at the TCAN coming up ❤️❤️here s to u Grace!!
Grace, I 1st saw you together with Dirty Loops and Cory Wong and now I am following your footsteps. You are such a joyful and humble person + such a great musician... unbelievable! Your ability to listen and to fit right into where it´s needed and your appreciation for your fellow musicians and the history of Jazz makes you a now and future force to reckon with. Also love your singing and fun stuff with @2 saxy ;-)
She's way better than him in my opinion, and she's had an audience for years. Don't get me wrong, Marcus Miller is a good musician, and love when he plays the bass clarinet(which I also play) but Grace is on another level IMO. That being said, this performance doesn't do much for me, her own music is where it's at for me.
I love GK and I also love, and sadly miss, Janice Joplin. The strange thing is that I see a resemblance between the two of them, it's partly the hair, but mostly the wild exuberance of their performances. Grace continues to develop - I wonder how far she will go in generating her individual style. (Hope she doesn't succumb to the problems which brought about Janice's demise - which, unfortunately, are not rare amongst jazz stars.)
well this is ok but doesn't really go any where for me..needs more harmonic things in the saxophone shape(more direction)well she had a great band behind her though
Oh come on ... R u serious? If u going to criticize then be nicer.. and she is so talented she has a CD she did at AGE 12. Of songs SHE WROTE ... Hard to beat that. Band good but she better
