Thank you for this!! I just bought a ham for Christmas and had no idea how to carve a spiral ham. this is gonna make everything so easy, I really appreciate it!
Bless you for amking this video! I got a spiral sliced ham for Thanksgiving and had no clue on how to cut it. Your video made it look so simple that i got the ham out and got it all cut up and ready to heat up. Thanks again and i pray you and your family has a blessed Holiday.
I was today years old when I found out that there’s a method to the madness on cutting, and separating a ham, by muscle groups. I thought it was only just a slice and eat deal. Thanks for the info.
Thanks 👍 for the excellent video! I wasn't too sure on how to slice a spiral cut ham but this video cleared it up. Also subbed your channel. Have a great Christmas 🎄. Stay Safe and Take Care!
It’s probably best to heat it first, but sometimes your schedule may dictate the need to cut it first. I’ve done it both ways and it’s good either way. Thanks for watching.
My problem is my ham came in one, hole butt. I need to find out how to cut to get to that center bone! It's probably very simple, but I don't know how.
If it has spiral slices, just separate where the muscles are naturally divided. If you don’t have slices, then slice it with a knife, cutting across the grain. There is no penalty for mistakes. If you cut it wrong then turn it, and try again. Get most of the ham off the bone and call that success. Happy New Year
@@pawdaddysblindhawgbbq1686 Thanks. Turns out there's a reason spiral sliced whole butt is cheaper! What a bi*ch! Ha! Got it done but it wasn't pretty. It doesn't matter cuz it's for my dogs. I started feeding them raw meat about a year ago and given how cheap pork and chicken can be it's almost the same price as a high priced kibble! I can even get a beef roast sometimes for less than $2.50/lb. But that's rare Raw meat is definitely better for them and they get so excited watching me prepare their dinner I know they prefer it.

@@pawdaddysblindhawgbbq1686 yup he shoulda gone to the Big House for what he did where a "bone-in (his) ham" would have been justified .. thanks I followed your method yesterday and wowed the crowd at my Christmas THX

Thank you for the video. I'm trying to break down and freeze discounted spiral cut hams for me to use as sandwich meat.
Thanks for watching
So do you recommend cutting up the ham before you cook it and add the glaze?

@@pawdaddysblindhawgbbq1686 Thank you for the quick reply! 🙂
Excellent clear advice. How can good advice get “obsolete”?
Thank you and thanks for watchong
Are you able to cook your ham one or two days ahead, slice, then reheat the day of?
Most spiral sliced hams are fully cooked. You could slice ahead of the event and heat the day of. Thanks for watching.
