I listen to straight ahead jazz and Latin jazz. I don't like smooth jazz and how they've kinda ruined a lot of great jazz festivals. Today I rolled the FM radio dial while driving the coast highway and found this song. Hmmm hey that sounds like Esperanza Spalding...her voice but not quite her bass playing style... wow.. great song.. hope it's getting wider airplay on tge real jazz stations and on the funk, souk r&b stations too. I still don't listen to smooth jazz atations... closest I get is clsssic George Benson, John Klemmer and Grover Washington Jr.
