how often do you put it into sport and use that MYP acceleration? i still think its worth the extra $$ because even with LR +Accel boost its still a full second faster just wondering if you have any stories of using it or someone trying to race u lmao which i doubt if there smart ;)
I also wished that my 2021 M3 SR+ had a heated steering wheel that would be eventually software unlocked... but the new Y and now M3 LR built in February are coming out with heated steering wheel and per reports from owners running older Tesla software version, so it looks like it's not a software issue. I live in Ohio and understand your frustration.
The older software they are running is a build not publicly released, and is only showing on models with the heated steering wheel. When those vehicles update to the same firmware as the rest, that’s what will tell us if we can or cannot have the heated steering on older 2021 Model Ys and 3s. 2021 Model 3 LR owner here.
January 7th is when they started building them with heated steering wheels so has to be built after the 7th! I’ll be getting mine this next week and that’s the first question I asked!
@@zed4me yeah won’t have the heated steering wheel! I knew there were going to add it soon and when I got my vin I asked if it had it and they said yes otherwise I would of pushed it till it had it!
@@dakota_lbz619 really curious if it'll be a software update later. More info should come eventually as to whether these wheels with metal scroll wheels all come with the hardware for heating or if there are different versions of them already. If tesla doesn't/can't software unlock it, I'll find a way to enable it as long as the hardware is there
Only the new models with the new center console will have the heated steering wheels. Obvi these are 2021 models but in my opinion the true new 2021 models will have the heated steering wheel, double pane windows, new center console, and flash drive in glovebox. If you just have the double pain windows I technically wouldn’t call it a 2021 but that’s just me
I don't think it's overrated. For short trips which I do frequently it doesn't make sense to heat up the whole cabin and waste energy doing so vs just the places I will be touching
@@zed4me True, but still overrated hence the name "short trips" For short trips you wouldn't care as you can put a glove for 10 minutes. I say it is overrated. Nice to have, but overrated.
@@zed4me Because on a long trip the car is warm after about 10 minutes, after 15 minutes you are with a tshirt on, especially with the heat pump. Yes, pointless conversation.
I feel you, I wish my model Y steering wheel was heated too.
Does it actually have heating power before the new one for the steering wheel
Do you know if the model 3 will have a heated steering wheel?

I always leave it in sport, but rarely use the potential when the baby is in the car.. rear facing car seat = whiplash from acceleration! Lol
At least it's not a yoke like the new Model S refresh.
And first!
My 2018 Model 3 Dual Motor says the same thing when I use voice commands

Check your app. I don’t see it in the options in the car, but if I go into climate in the app and I see it

It's unfortunate, Elon doesn't care about older after market vehicles. He won't give update to 2020 or priorr 2021 model Y for heated sterring wheel.
I would be nice though to get an update in older model y's as well
'Please give me a heated steering wheel' wearing shorts and T-shirt .... LOL just saying bro, hope that the hardware is already built-in!
I just received delivery of my model y and it has the heated steering wheel. It also has the tab to activate it.
What trim?

Yes all the newer ones have it
@@zed4me were you able to get one in the end? I’m looking at buying a demo model which doesn’t have one but want to retrofit if possible
I hated too
It is overrated. Prewarm the car and put the heat at the wheel and it is warm after 5 minutes.
