I saw this as a child (about 10) and it’s shaped my sense of humour ever since. So any fond memories watching French and Saunders with my Mum, still makes me laugh.
Maybe it was just the day, maybe it was just me, but I laughed so hard when Dawn was riding the scooter to the airport that I was literally snorting. Thanks be to all the deities I was born in a time when these two women were performing and being utterly brilliant. I read an interview with Carol Burnett and she talked about how important French and Saunders were, for both comedy and women worldwide. I bet Lucille would have loved them.
We owe a debt of gratitude to French & Saunders - they (& others) kept the great tradition of British pantomime alive, and now into the 21st century :)
"Switch it off, hit it, then switch it back on again!" I still to this day say that phrase when someone is having computer problems. Also, 1:02:52 might have been my introduction to.... those kinds of websites! Let's just say, my parents owned this VHS when I was a kid, and it was watched a lot by me when they weren't around, and those scenes were frequently paused!
I've forgotten how good French and Saunders are. They are really sophisticated and sharp. I love those 'art' piss takes, they're so realistic. Sarah Millican, Victoria Wood and Miranda Hart all seem to pale in comparison.
Oh come now. Sarah Millican's material is decent, Victoria (R.I.P.) was THE inspiration for the French and Saunders style seeing as she practically invented female comedy, and Miranda is amazing - her self-proclaimed debt to F&S nonwithstanding.
I love this, all except for that one part that came after the emails. Not having seen it in a while, I was thinking the emails go straight into the skit about GAP (which is the part I wanted), forgetting that there is a very raunchy sex discussion that comes before it---which I accidentally showed my 13-y/o sister! Oops! Awkward!!
F&S are my favourite female comedy anythings, but... as entertaining and marvellous as this gig was, if it was part of a tour, then the audience are being ripped off, as the majority of the material is pre-recorded. If it was a one-off gig, then fair enough.
If you've ever worked in theatre, a lot of furious activity is going on back stage in order to make the next entrance. It was clear to me from the beginning that the video segments was for costume and scene changes. Give them a break. Not everything is a "rip off". That's modern "I just got a bruise bumping into your table I'LL SUE YOU!" thinking. Absurd. ps. The "tv extras" scene was clever, right down to when Jennifer pretended to miss her cue.

'rip' ist duplikat, R.I.P (Rest in Peace) ist ruhe in Frieden ;)
I've never seen this before, it's absolutely hilarious. Thank you for uploading.
God I was at the premiere. I'm sure it was around the 7th November 2000 xxxx
Nothing quite compares to these two
I couldn't turn it off, I was hooked! Thanks so much for posting this. French & Saunders are -- pun intended -- absolutely fabulous

"We are on TV. You are not on TV!"
Finally, the truth!!
Absolutely love this remember it well 👍🏼
"My muffin is delicious." LOL
F&S forever
Glorious send-up of that pernicious culture of "self-empowerment" through enforced positivity that was so big around Y2K.
😍😍😍 thank you for the upload. Two of the finest comedy duo's ever known 🔥💋💯😘 a sheer delight to watch *thumbsup*
1:02:55. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. That is classic French and Saunders!

The morning tv show skit was just so funny

Sorry but need to disagree re Victoria wood..love F&S to bits but V.W was just brilliant..she lit the way. RIP Victoria x
the alphabet part is hilarious! ahaha
Are you going to do the accent?
I'm having my lucky wee
Brilliant. And dawn french although large is beautiful
PODGE RULES!
Does anyone know who sings the theme tune for this? It sounds a little bit like Dawn at times but I don't think it is her 🤔
Dinco. Home of the Devonshire delight that is back up tech systems of some sort. Lol
No worries :)
This is so funny

Wow. It turns out that was the only part I liked. The rest of the stage show was quite inferior to their TV specials.
They look like they did twenty years ago!
Lean and mean and king
..snatch speak? OMG! ! That's so wrong if you think about it. There's nothing worse than angry snatch! ! Hahaha
OMG Hilarious
I don't get the "are you going to do the accent" bit, which they do in their other live show as well?
They do a terrible American accent, but thats what we sound like to them lol.
sounds to me like love actually sucks (someything) cant work it out
Not a prob.
There is nothing sexier than a funny woman
Is that a Phil Jupitus mask?! Ha! @5•00
Tony Blair i think

F&S are great but they always let themselves down when it came to live shows, such a shame because they could have made it so good!

Past it. And she'd be playing the whale, not a donkey.
Stupid ad at the start.
Thats Bottom! theres nothing stupid about Bottom
20 mins in can't believe people PAID money to watch this crap!
Bits of this were funny, but not VERY...
