The worst thing they did is have the screen angled up. It should instead point straight ahead with no angle. I place it on a shelf above eye level and cannot point it down. Even with an adjustable stand pointed down does not allow the screen and camera pointed toward me.
Just got mine yesterday and it's pretty nice, I previously only had the new echo dot. I'm slowly trying to turn the home into a smart home since it's a bit costly but I definitely might get an echo 5 for a bedroom nightstand
Yeah, it's definitely costly, but just remember this stuff will last for years. Some of my smart home stuff is 4 years old. It's kinda like a one-time investment that keeps paying you back (making life easier) over the years. 💯😁
Definitely I also got it with the blink mini cam so I keep my eyes out for deals like that to lower the cost, that's how I got my.dorst smart bulb also with my echo dot
Hi, great video. I am new to this echo show environment. I just got mine today and i am still trying to figure out how to use it properly. What's the best of having an echo show?
So the first thing is buy some smart light bulbs. Then, smart plugs and slowly build a smart home. The echo has so many little benefits you'll find as you use it. Another great one is if you have a smart tv, it can control it. You can find everything in the Alexa app under skills.
You can buy smart plugs and smart bulbs on Amazon. I like the company Meross. You can also buy smart light switches if you have some understanding of electrical wiring.
It's definitely better than any echo I've used. Very loud with crisp clear audio. Plus, it has bass lol But it's still just two small speakers, so it's not going to be theater quality.
I received an echo show 8, third gen, everything installed perfectly. In fact, the app shows that it’s connected to my Wi-Fi but, the screen just shows “loading”. I waited about 10 or 12 minutes. Any thoughts or suggestions on why and what I might be able to do to make this thing work?
@@AtHomewithLucas I did both, no luck. I reset the show 8 third gen, I unplugged it for a while, plugged it back in, I unplugged my router, and after reloading all of my information, and again, it shows it is connected to the router in the app, it continues to show “loading”. Weird. The same problem happened with the show 8 second gen as well. My gen 1 works perfectly fine.
Try this Swipe down from the top of the screen and go to Settings Scroll to Device Options Select Reset to Factory Defaults Confirm that you want to reset your device
I recently got the new Echo Show 8 (3rd Gen). I also have the 1st gen. On my 1st Gen while connected to my bluetooth earbuds I can tap the earbuds and pause, skip or go back while listening to music on Pandora. I tried this on the new 3rd gen and it's not working. Was this feature removed from the 3rd Gen Echo Show 8 or is there a setting I need to adjust? Update - I just hooked up my old 1st gen Echo Show 8 and even though it's slower my bluetooth devices work properly with it. I can adjust the volume, pause, play, track forward and track back all with my bluetooth devices. This 3rd gen is being returned.

Yeah, they basically think the echos will be placed counter hight. So you look down at them for the best viewing.

That's why I love waiting for amazing deals. When I was younger, I couldn't wait for nothing. Lol
Sold mine, sounded echoey and was affecting my hearing!😮I went back to a new 2nd gen!
Oh no, that's terrible. I'm glad the 2nd gen works for you.

Dumb question but you control all those lights - where do you purchase these light systems??

Thank you!!
Hello, thanks for the review, how is the spatial audio?

Thanks a lot.@@AtHomewithLucas
Happy to help ☺️

Unplug it for 20 seconds, then plug it back in.
If that doesn't work restart your router (unplug then plug it back in)

I tried swiping left, right and down. It won’t let me it’s just locked on the “loading” screen.
Thanks Lucas. Is there a way to have a full screen clock?
Full screen as in just a clock all the time with no other cards?
@@AtHomewithLucas preferred but as few cards as possible.

Yes I'm having the same thing with my Show 10. But my earbuds don't control my Samsung tv so I guess the new Echos are more like tvs than echos.
How do i put netflux on it
Just say "Alexa open Netflix"
Is it just me or am I the only one who’s echo only worked for a week until it just starts ignoring you 😒🙄
Mine does that, so I'll unplug it for 1 min, then plug it back in and boom, it works perfectly.
