  • 'The Oxen' was written by Victorian novelist and poet Thomas Hardy in 1915, during World War One. It relates to a West Country legend: that, on the anniversary of Christ's Nativity, each Christmas Day, farm animals kneel in their stalls in homage.
Thanks to Tommy Desmond for reading, our Tramore knitting circle for their nativity figures and to Sarah in Tramore Library for putting the video together.
Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a hopeful New Year.
