I had started working at a windshield warehouse back in 2003, and they would play the local hard rock station, and wow "Fly from the Inside" came on the radio and I was immediately hooked. 20 years later, I've purchased every album, seen Shinedown multiple times in concert, they are absolutely amazing, but Fly from the Inside remains my favorite song from the band. Thank you guys, you've got me through so much.
Just saw Shinedown on Thursday night April 14th at the Huntington Center in Toledo Ohio. I and my husband are very big fans. He's seen them twice live now. It was the best concert I've ever seen. I can't wait to see them again!! Brent, Barry, Eric and Zach are an amazing group of rockers!! So many of their songs have such deep meanings. What I love most about Shinedown is they are amazing performers that are down to earth and real!!
I've been a fan since Leave a Whisper. 45 and Burning Bright were some of my anthems in the last year of high school and Shinedown helped carry me through college and now well into adulthood. I still hold this group as one of, if not my absolute favorite group ever. I saw them in PHX in 2022 and it was unbelievable. best concert I've been to in a long time. It's not just Brent's voice (but HOLY CRAP Brent's voice..........) but their message, and I feel like I've taken a similar growth journey in my life along side them. Lastly their consistency. Even Five Iron Frenzy (my favorite band overall) has a few songs and even a full album that I just don't care for. I can't think of a single Shinedown song that just falls flat or doesn't hit. Thank you for everything you've done and all the music over the years. I BEG YOU, keep going.
I was lucky enough to meet Brent and the original members in 2004 and 2006 at Chicago House of Blues . Leave a Whisper and US and Them will always be my favorite but every Shinedown album has been phenomenal since. I always see Shinedown concerts if they tour anywhere near Chicago
I totally get what Brent is saying. What if they had not changed the people? Would they have been able to create Amaryllis and such breakout hits as "Bully"? That is still one of my favorite albums to listen to, as well as being a favorite from Shinedown.
I love all the guys in the history of the band, but for me the best Shinedown are: Brent on vocals, Jasin on lead guitar, Zack on rhythm guitar, Brad on bass and Barry on drums. 🤘🔥🔝
This is a very great interview, because most of the interviews almost never asking at Brent or Barry about the early years of the band and obviously with the former members like Jasin and Brad. I personally think this band is great anyway once and now, but for me their first three albums are very special and great.
Do you see why things had to change there is no way they could have toured together for all the years. Pretty sure the band would have never made it. It would be cool for Jasin to play for 1 tour but maybe Jasin isn't interested in that. I just wish people would stop hating Brent for the band breaking up because it wasn't just him.
I remember the 1st time I heard you.. 2001. KISW. 99.9 ....."45".. I told my friend's this guy is going to be a ROCKSTAR. 23 years. You're not the same person ... I've watched you're progress.. Phenomenal.. Muuh respects.. Sheree
From leave a whisper to planet zero I've been through many concerts seeing them live 16 and counting. Love this band. 🎶🎶😜 Also if you really wanna go deep into his career check out the band Dreve the song grudge is an early randition of BURNING BRIGHT.. Look harder and you will find about 7 others songs shinedown used on other albums. 👌🎶🎵💯
I found you on the rob Thomas matchbox 20 channel. If I had found you before them you would be my favorite.... Just saw you at the pond in Anaheim. Best show ever....we don't do vacations we spend are money on concerts.... We had tickets to see you for the first time and then COVID. Had to wait years to Finally see you. Rob only still has the #1 spot because of "Sidewalk angles" animal charity and homeless woman. But your voice is everything. You are 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍. I'm a handicap person so Shriners and sidewalk angles are who I give extra to. What charities do you deal with. So I can look into them. God I love your voice. No one can touch your amazing voice
"Not strong enough" is not a Shinedown song, but a song by Apocalyptica that features Brent Smith singing... just so you know. Although of course Brent NAILS it
Brent your the Greatest I Love the Bands sound so much more now! Monsters is on point! And I'd Love to sing Bad at Love with you! If I get the chance to ever see you Gentlemen in Concert you all are # 1 on my list! But life keeps me from being able to
I feel like the interviewer has more homework to do. You need to know the movie is already out and not say things that. make it clear you are trying to pretend you "know". Time will get you there though.
I really enjoyed Shinedown back in the early and mid 2000s, and then I kind of quit actively looking for new music because I was becoming frustrated with the direction music was going. I’ve gone back and rediscovered Shinedown and taken myself through the journey of their last few albums, and some of those songs hit me like a ton of bricks. I should have never left.
thats bull shit, 3 band members get kicked out of the band and brent says there are no hard feelings? had brent been kicked to the curb he would be saying he got ripped off.
Because they have made up Brent and Jasin talked they are good. Jasin is friends with Barry and Zach so yea they really are good. That is ignorant to say I'm sure Brent really wouldn't say anything he would have been hurt but he would just move on.
@JeronimoFalls No I don't think he had that. I think he had surgery on his head back with TTS. The hat was hiding something not sure what was with the sunglasses. He was sick during that tour. He took out his nose ring too. Zach let it slip he had 15 MRIs of his head that isn't normal. I did work at a hospital I know why multiple MRIs are done. It is just what I think. I did see him & I met him multiple times before and he was definitely off & not feeling well but still took a pic with me at tour bus.
I was a fan once. Then Shinedown sold out to the corporate overlords and completely changed everything that made them what got them noticed. Listen to their first album and then listen to the pop garbage they are selling today. Brent likely doesn't even write his own lyrics anymore. He stabbed Jasin Todd in the back during his selling out.
No you didn't listen it is more Jasin did that. He obviously didn't support Brent at all when he got off drugs and they only fought almost seriously hurting each other. They just couldn't get along when he got off drugs. Unfortunately that happens alot with friends that got along while high. Brent and Jasin are good so just let it be.
Been a fan since 2005. This band has brought me out of some very dark places.
same got to see them in Toronto ON. best day of my life 🥰🙏
I think that's why we're all fans. ❤️
Same here. Love these guys. I get where they are coming from. Such deep lyrics .
Done EVER go away!!!!!
Same. They pulled me right out of a grave.
Shinedown gives me a better life. They love us.
Brent Smith is just an excellent human! Love this dude and Shinedown

They are a good band anyway in the same way with the old members or with the actually members.

Very enjoyable Interview
Much appreciated
I like original and current Shinedown lineup but the Jasin years they were so raw and rockin.
Agreed
Because Jasin was the rock soul of the band.
I love this group
MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT YOU'LL, GOD BLESS!
Go back to the originals. Much better flow and chemistry. And music!
Leave A Whisper will never be topped.
I agree 🙌
Been a fan since 2007 met Zakk & Barry in Milan Italy in 2018. Seriously nice guys. It was a damn pleasure. My favourite band period. 🤟🤟🤟

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Shinedown is the best!
Rick Beato should get a shout out you know why
Brent has given credit to him in other interviews he just didn't come up this time.
This whole have been heartbreaking.

Interesting thought 🤔
I love Shinedown, but I miss Jasin Todd the original guitarist of this band. I hope he come back someday. 👍🤘❤️
It will never happen. I also miss both Jasin Todd and Brad Stewart
@@GiBsOnX92 I don’t know man, i hope something for the twenty anniversary of Leave a whisper the next year.

I am more of a fan of the old guitar player he wrote killer songs with killer guitar .
He is the great Jasin Todd, this is the name of the man. 🤘
Jasin
Shame he basically faded into obscurity after he left SD
Jasin Todd is the guitarist who made this band great once upon a time. Now, Shinedown plays pop music and are mere hipsters. Sellouts.
He wrote with feeling the new guitar player is a filler behind all the other shit going on now.
love
I feel like the interviewer has more homework to do. You need to know the movie is already out and not say things that. make it clear you are trying to pretend you "know". Time will get you there though.
I wonder why did Jason and Brad, left the band🤔
I thought the interview was good. What did you think of the movie and Planet Zero?
Thanks! Movie was interesting and good background look into the album
and process, album was really good overall.
Stupid question, but I was just wondering.
Jasin was the sound of this band - once he left, the sound changed - and not for the better.
I love Shinedown but please guys do a “second chance” at Jasin Todd.
Saliva is based in Memphis not Jacksonville
Saliva was formed in Memphis, but current lead singer Bobby Amaru is from Jacksonville.
But he said the band came out of Jacksonville which is not true
and guess who... Zach Myers came from Memphis and started with Saliva before joining Shinedown live band
It's so funny!! I am almost certain i met him in Manchester new Hampshire with different band members
🖤♥️🌹👍
