In Shadowlands, the Jailer used Domination magic to use him as his errand boy to help him enact his plans. His sword was also imbued with the remnants of Arthas’s spirit. Anduin was completely conscious of his actions while under Domination magic, which completely controlled him, and he enjoyed some of the things he did (unleashed bloodthirst or perhaps as Faerin said, lacking responsibility). He was freed, but left traumatized.
I won't survive that. Honestly. Losing Anduin and Khadgar would break me, those are my two favorite characters in the game. I hope I don't have to hunt down Metzen et al and cry in their beer....(or worse.)
By the way the storyline is playing out, Alleria is the new Arthas. Xalatath is the new Mal'Ganis. So far, it seems to be a point by point copy. Xalatath is taunting Alleria and driving her to delve further into the void just as Mal'Ganis drove Arthas to pickup Frostmorne. Hell, Alleria basically promised to do what ever it took to see revenge on Xalatath, just as Arthas did to seek revenge on Mal'Ganis.

Arthas used to be calm before malganis started provoking him into doing more aggressive things, while Alleria has always been extremely aggressive from the start and Turalyon or her friends usually calmed her down.

The old king fighting the legion, as im sure you'll know if you played the game at all, is literally a defunct timeline because we already beat the legion. That future literally doesn't happen now.

I would've liked it if he fought his way through and survived on his own, making a hideout or something and giving us quests... he's like only male character I'm somewhat okay with... I wont spoil anything but there are I think like 2-3 sacrifice moments where you cant help but think, "That was completely unnecessary...? Why would they do that? They could of just done X or Y and everyone would of survived...?"
That appears to be literally his goal at the moment as in the context of what he said. He’s also not in the best state mentally and you can see that already. It’s an unnecessary sacrifice which derives from his current condition
At the rate they are going, the WoW saga does not have much time left, killing off relevant characters and introducing flat characters for mere quota but it feels like a poor version of Varian's sacrifice in Legion if they killed Alduin they should have made him do something big
He isnt dead lil bro. He's been shown to be extremely good at survival, even without the light. If you've played the game for long enough you'd understand anduin was always meant to be the "main character" in wow, like an antithesis to arthas. The problem is the male playerbase is fragile as hell and cant take the fact that an attractive male character is one of the best (or most complex rather) in the game lore-wise just cuz he isn't a manly man like varian was. Even varian learned from anduin towards the end, and after he was killed anduin finished the battle and stopped the legion invasion at only like 16 yrs old. Cope

The bait they did with Anduin at Blizzcon in that cinematic, and he's barely in the story, and when he is he's just being character assasinated. I wish we hadn't rescued him in Shadowlands honestly, at least he looked cool then.

There was no justified reason to give Anduin a crisis of conscience, not in contrast to Sylvanas. Our eagle scout stabbed only one innocent and only when mind-controlled. His victim survived and yet he's wracked with an agony of remorse over a teensy twinge of bloodlust. And there's Sylvanas, the genocidal psychopath, trailing clouds of plague and charcoal civilians in her wake. Oh she is reunited with her better half and the conscience that she never had is crystal clear. She regards her past atrocities without a qualm and shrugs them off as no more than a parking violation. It was my last straw when they sent Anduin trailing after her for wisdom and advice as if to a cherished older sister. A king does not take 3 years off to contemplate the lint in his navel, abandoning his throne to a zealot. I'm sick to death of the far-fetched identity crisis. From boyhood to man, Anduin has always been right about everything with a consistency that is borderline obnoxious. Self-doubt is his least likely character flaw. So what if Anduin was too good to be true? WOW is not fact, but fiction. If conflict is essential for drama, there is plenty of conflict when only one apple is wholesome and everybody else in the barrel is some degree of rotten.

@@VelvetSkyye The video of the confrontation between Khadar and Xalatan is all over RUclips and all we see is how Khadgar's hand gets disintegrated and after that it's uncertain what happens to him and to Dalaran and some speculate that Dalaran gets teleported some place else or whatever. There's just no way in hell Blizzard is going to kill him just like that. What they did is making us believe or at least some people like you to think that way, so he can appear in a future dungeon or a raid and we can save him. I'm not trying to convince you or anything, but mark my words, Khadgar isn't dead, though he isn't going to be the same.
I wish the story and cinematics were more original. It feels like what could have been epic is overshadowed by so much of it being callbacks to old storylines. The Alleria/Xalatath storyline seems like a repeat of Arthas/Malganas. Anduin is copying his father. It's been done.
Faerin might be my new favorite character. That through sheer force of faith she is capable of undoing the Void influence is so awesome. It shows her faith is absolute

I bought the collector edition for the cool stuff and hoping the game would get back in the right direction... Boy was I wrong. I'm going to sell it again and leave it unopened. The story, cutscenes, epic CGI, lore got me playing this game from the start but everything is missing the last 3/4 expansions... I'm done with Blizzard but will keep the good old memories.
So, Khagdar killed in a in- game cinematic like an idiot with the empty action bar, the next queen of SW probably its gonna be a half blind mutilated cave dweller, Anduin once again is crying and got kidnapped, Thrall is just a void and well we got a Sylvanas 2.0, I dont think the major problem is who's gonna wield Shalamayne.
Varian homage lacks subrlety and nuance. Varian was heroic because there was no option other than jumping down. Anduin is stupid because there were other options other than jumping down. Because of that this scene feels forced and lame.

@@VelvetSkyye The video of the confrontation between Khadar and Xalatan is all over RUclips and all we see is how Khadgar's hand gets disintegrated and after that it's uncertain what happens to him and to Dalaran and some speculate that Dalaran gets teleported some place else or whatever. There's just no way in hell Blizzard is going to kill him just like that. What they did is making us believe or at least some people like you to think that way, so he can appear in a future dungeon or a raid and we can save him. I'm not trying to convince you or anything, but mark my words, Khadgar isn't dead, though he isn't going to be the same.

I wish the story and cinematics were more original. It feels like what could have been epic is overshadowed by so much of it being callbacks to old storylines. The Alleria/Xalatath storyline seems like a repeat of Arthas/Malganas. Anduin is copying his father. It's been done.

Varian homage lacks subrlety and nuance. Varian was heroic because there was no option other than jumping down. Anduin is stupid because there were other options other than jumping down. Because of that this scene feels forced and lame.
