I would love to take a factory tour on this beautiful roco workplace and see how they are made in real ! It will be very exciting for me ! Love you Roco and ReynauldEuroImports for sharing this video. Very informative
i have only roco models i love them because they are robust and made in europe , jouef were made in france unfortunately bought by hornby and all the stuff is made in china i hope to work in a train model factory , i collect corail coaches and cc 72000 cc 6500 locomotives
A great piece of interesting entertainment ! There's no substitute for craft . Machines and lasers have a great influence , but the Human touch is wonderful . Love and care are worth a lot . Well done Roco.
Well, some things still have to be done by hand. No matter where they’re made, that’s still true. But because of computers and CAD/CAM, models today are vastly better than models from more than 30-40 years ago. Those were simple and primitive, unless they cost thousands.
Absolutely incredible the amount of tooling required to produce this model....the quality and attention to detail is amazing...thanks for sharing this video.....hope to see more of these....xx
I did know that a lot of work was done to produce a model, with all the scanning, jigs, tools, dies ect. I have had my eyes opened to the complexity and time consuming task they undertake and will see my Roco locos, running stock and the Z21 in a completely different light. Excellent video thanks
Wonderful and enlightening video showing such intense planning and such attention to detail. The whole video was excellent showing the skill and final assembly of the trains, inspiring.
I myself don't have the time enough to build a model locomotive with the intricate details i saw in this video, very impressive indeed, it explains the justified cost. When you think about, it would probably take months to build one and not look or run as a factory made peace. 👍
Great video! I’ve been a great fan of Roco since 40 years, and I will always be! I wish I’d see more steam locomotives! The technology can be compared to luxuy watch making. Very amazing indeed!
They really make beautiful models and none many of them are coming with advanced Henning and Leo Lab sound libraries. Roco models are high quality and super detailed models.
That is way cool. Never knew there was that much work going into these. I guess now I dont mind paying the price on some of the trains. Mad skill. Thanks for sharing.
great video, really shows just what goes into making a model locomotive, i wish instead of the music though you had someone explaining the processes, I realize the video would have had to be longer but it would have been worth it I think.

Amazing skills and being in engineering myself, I know that the tooling cost itself would be in the £100,000 + area. Technology at its finest...well done Roco !, great looking Loco.
My favorite MRR manufacturer is Roco. I'm willing to pay extra for models made in Europe. Roco has superb motors also, and together with decoders from ZIMO, the locomotives are the best runners I know. I just watched how Rapido Trains use a laser scanner to make accurate 3D drawings from prototypes. I hope this will become the new industry standard.
Roco, you are the best. Fantastics machins. A great workshop very modern. Famous designers, high quality and practical. Finest modeling... And very beautifuls girls working in this fashion factory.. I had a good deal of Roco's model. I love my BB9004 too.... Roco the best of all. So, on the Last model we can't see made in Austria writing on the top of the box, why?

That’s extraordinary. I’m going shopping for my grand children. Nah. For me 🤣 They are more than toys. They’re spiritual. The Roco team can be very proud.

Seriously? The industrial revolution started in 1760 so industrial manufacturing at all scales existed for around 200 years before the first industrial CAD/CAM systems started appearing.
Fabulous video. Question? Shouldn't the women doing the painting - 4:38 - be wearing masks (for health reasons)? On a superficial note - I have never seen so many nice looking ladies on a production line in my life (that I recall).
McRocket Not really, they're painting in a booth and that area behind the model being painted is the inlet to an exhaust fan and filtering system. All of the vapors and paint spray is sucked in that duct and filtered through the filters.
More work than I thought it would be. I wonder if 3D printing can speed up the development process? Now imagine how much work it would be to get an O gauge Lionel BigBoy to market?
3D printing is still way too slow and the manufacturing would be too expensive because how slow the printing is. Also you still would need to produce a nice zinc or die cast frame. It cost about 2 million to bring out a high end model in Europe but once the tooling is built you can manufacture that model for decades.
@@christtking894 -The staff don't look Romanian. There is a video on the tube of that facility and they were making track. I'm not sure it's still open after Roco-Fleischmann opened a facility in Vietnam ?
The tooling I believe is amortized over 6 years so over this time period they will produce enough models to pay for the tooling. The quantities these days are nothing compared to the 70s and 80s so not sure how many. If I had to guess maybe around 5 thousand or 6 thousand units. Keep in mind that the tooling will be used for decades so over time they will make nice profits.

Now I want a Roco Locomotive too !
What an amazing process! Almost as involved and as complex as building a watch! No wonder ROCO trains are so incredibly realist in their appearance!
Loco prices are going up, but seeing Roco still make their stuff in Europe with such attention to detail, the price is more than justified.
