Jin had to learn to sing and dance with 0 background he just started university as a film and acting major. He continued and graduated whilst training. He said he was at the bottom of the rankings every week and did not know why he wasn't sent home. Now his powerful stable vocals and clear bright falsetto earned him the critics approval and the nickname Silver Voice from the critics. Learning to dance at 19 having no dance background must have been really hard. Though he was athletic. J Hope is a choreographers favourite. Last year his solo debut concert sold out mainstage at Lollapalooza chicago 120,000 crowd and the crowd didn't thin right till the end.

Propably the hardest thing is the combination of singing and dancing together. The breath controll. Their live performances are even better than the music video's. Their dancing and singing is so good because of the endless practice. They know each other so well over the years that it really shows in their performance.

Fate brought them together and fight has kept them together. I'm so glad that not only Bang PD saw their talent but they also saw it in each other and fought for each other.
Without RM and JK convincing Hobi to come back to Big Hit and then RM fighting BH to let him come back, BTS wouldn't be the same. Also, V fighting for Jimin to not be cut. I just cannot imagine a BTS without our Sunshine and our Angel.

But his members give him comfort he needs when things become difficult. To them she share things bcs they are close to him.
But from 2 -3 years he really worked on his self. To show his individuaity. His self confidence. He was not socially active between the years and was having hard times. But after that period he really become stronger in all aspects. And his hard work really paid of.

4:19 Big Hit is the name of their label. They went looking for the right group members over the course of a few years. RM, Suga and J-Hope were signed in 2010, Jin, V and Jungkook in 2011 and Jimin in 2012. They debuted in 2013. The process usually involves taking in 20-30 trainees and then narrowing it down to the final group.
Ironically "idols" are actually looked down on in South Korea because as a rule of thumb they don't decide or make their own music so they're basically considered "pretty puppets", especially by artists from other genres. That's not what Big Hit did.
They wanted BTS to be genuine artists involved in their music, write, produce and tell their own stories. Although they still had plenty of rules they were definitely given a lot of creative freedom including releasing solo content outside of the group. I think that's also one of the reasons they've been able to stay together for so long despite their difference in personalities, because they were able to express themselves individually as well.
It's especially become clear since they started their mandatory military service and have released solo projects because of it. The members each have very specific audiences in mind and I love watching them grow as individual human beings.
Jin was the first to go and only released a "goodbye-for-now-single", The Astronaut, a collaboration with Coldplay, beforehand however he'll be back as the first on June 12th 2024 and I can't wait to hear his first solo album. (He's my bias 😉)
However, the biggest highlight will be when they reunite in 2025 (their contracts have already been renewed for another seven years so we know this for a fact). They'll no doubt take the world by storm once again. It's gonna be EPIC!
    💜

You might notice that although RM is not the oldest he's right in the middle so he has 3 older 'brothers' BTS members and 3 younger 'brothers' bts members. Yet he's the Leader and respected as the Leader/spokes person and they highly praise him for what he does. He's the only member who speaks perfect English as well.
RM role as Leader doesn't mean he's the centre/lead as in Western groups. They all share that centre spot on stage they all have their time on stage to shine. There's no 'Leader' when on stage. You have 7 alpha's in one group as someone once said, who all share the spot light and are humble enough to let each other shine as they all know they'll have their turn in the spot light. They see one member shinning as all the members shinning no ego's here just humbleness and the team is everything.

Suga said being at Big Hit was like going to a year round music camp where classes are going on all day and you can dabble in any area you have an interest in. So definitely, if you come in with talent, you will have it developed into the best you can be. Work ethic is huge; nobody lazy gets to stay. They also taught each other in the dorms and on the road. As big as they are, they still spend full days at work, writing, composing, dance practice, and creating content. As least they did; they are all in the military now and most have earned leadership positions there. They put out several albums a year while US artists barely do one a year.

RM is a sweetheart when they were getting hate letters and comments in English he would translate them saying the comments were good comment so as not worry or upset the others. He has an IQ of 148, which make's him in the top 1.3% of the population in regards to his level intelligence he speaks 3 Languages fluently. Started out with a love of poetry at a very early age, which lead to him writing poerty which lead him into Rap. He was battle Rapping at 13years old against much much older Rappers under the stage name of Ranch Randa. Because he was so good and was wiping the floor with older Rappers one Rappers used his name to diss another Rapper with the line 'you had your arse handed to you by the 13year old Ranch Randa'. He also has a love of books, art, and nature.
Suga is very much known for his Rapping and is also as an award winning Producer who writes and produces not only for BTS, his own solo, but also for other artists from other companies. J Hope the third Rapper came also via the Hip Hop underground scene as a street dancer who listen to RM, Suga and their other Rapper friends Battle Rapping and then slowing joining in as he has a music in his blood from dancing.

So what they went through just to become 7 was really hard and created a bond like no other. Jungkook was 13 when he joined. I can’t imagine leaving home at that age, wild. And the fact that Jin learned to sing and dance from scratch is crazy. And dancing did not come easy to him. Same with zzz hope learning how to rap. Crazy crazy raw talent, the lot.

Plus, RM and Suga GO OFF on their raps in the Cyphers.
There's no official music videos for these but a channel called Enjoy BTS More has translated their live performances of the songs ito English subtitles.
Or color coded lyrics videos (which can have iffy translations) if you want to hear the full production versions and want to see who is rapping which part.

BIG HIT ENTERTAINMENT IS THEIR LABEL. It's now called BIG HIT MUSIC. HYBE is the corporation that is the parent company now. Their label grew and they expanded into the Japanese Market and the US Market. So their music label is Big Hit, and they are a subsidiary under HYBE Labels.
All seven of them can rap, dance, and sing amazingly well. And they all have experience songwriting, composing and producing their own music as well as music within BTS. I guess it would depend on the individual person what would be hardest skill to learn.

I don't know what they would consider hardest, but in my opinion it would be rapping/singing WHILE doing their choreography - their choreos are super hard. I just wanted to point out that RM and SUGA both started in the Underground, rapping at 13, but they weren't signed to BigHit until they were older. Just to put it into perspective, BTS debuted in 2013, so RM was 19 at debut, and SUGA was 20. Now they had been with BigHit for quite a while before that, training, and building the group. I think RM was around 16 when BigHit signed him, and I think SUGA was 17. This video uses their Korean ages (it's different than ours, and Korean age to Westerners is about 1 - 1 1/2 years older) So, for instance, in the video, it says Jungkook was 15 when he was signed, but in Western age he was more like 13 1/2 or 14 -- extremely young.

Oh I think you misunderstood. It's not saying that Jin's OST went #1 on iTunes 100. It's saying that the song was #1 on iTunes in 100 different countries. So in each country, his song topped the charts. It's a difficult feat to do in 1 country, more so for 100 countries. You seemed to like the beat in that one section of Jin's song. It's a BTS song called 'Baepsae'. You might also see it titled 'Silver Spoon' on some platforms. It's a great song but if you listen to it, we always recommend reactors also check out 'Baepsae Explained by a Korean' by DKDKTV.

RM and Suga didn’t join BTS at 13. They started rapping/ producing at 13. They auditioned for Bighit when they were 16/17.
Bighit is their label/ agency. Their job is to create groups, select members either through auditions or street casting.
Once trainees are selected, they’re trained for 2-3 years sometimes more. Some are cut out and once the members are finalised, the group can work on their music and debut.
The idols all have to learn to dance, singers are given vocal training. Rappers of course work on their rap and producing. With J Hope he was taught rappers because his understanding of rhythm would be helpful to him.
Besides BTS were to debut as a HipHop group!
I think in most K Pop groups, the eldest are usually the leader. However on Bighit it’s different. Here the leaders are chosen for leadership reason. That’s why after RM, the members say J Hope can be a secondary leader. Not Jin, though he can also handle them.

  • @DalYeosin

There is a hierarchy among men, the oldest takes responsibility and is expected to be respected, while the youngest (maknae) is often seen as the baby of the group and is allowed to do anything without the "hyungs" (older brothers) are angry with their maknae. This always applies when a group meets, whether friends, family or as music group. For example, the eldest starts eating and only then are the others allowed to start eating. RM joined the agency at age 15/16, followed by Suga 3months later who joined at age17. , j hope -joined 2-3 months later at age 16,. 6 months later Jin and JungKook joined at ages 18 and 13. V joined 2 months later at age 15. Last to join was Jimin, 8 months after V, age 16. He had the shortest training period before debut, only 10month compared to the other 1.5- 2yrs.
They use Korean ages when they speak, so in reality, JK was 13 when he signed and debuted at 15yr olds. He was barely a teenager when he left home to live in a big city.

In the last part, you also asked about what it was like in the early days of the group forming when you wondered about what the casting, training, early pre-debut and debut stuff looked like. There's a fanmade docuseries called 'The Rise of Bangtan that collected video clips from various sources that explains that and shows footage of them from back then. We'd totally watch if you reacted to all of it but if you just are interested in the early days, the series is pretty chronological so you can check out the first few chapters on RUclips. It's extremely well done and super interesting (and it gets better and better over time).

Idea from IdeaGirl. You've started at the beginning. But you want to get into their solo work. Then do that. This way, you stay current with all of us. And you can watch from the beginning to their "end side" of solo work. You will be presented with a unique view of them. But why not? You do understand they are all in the military now. But they have prepared content ahead of time to be released to all of us throughout their military time. I promise there is no "right" way to explore BTS. I found them on February 24, 2020 on the Tonight Show. They were debuting a brand new song, "On", from their new album "7". They impressively performed at Grand Central Station in NYC. I was overwhelmed at their talent and precision choreography. Coming from a Musical Theatre background I knew what it took to pull off a perfect performance. I immediately got on RUclips and have watched their content every day. I knew nothing. I just randomly watched what showed up on RUclips. I had no method or timeline to follow. But even I figured it all out. I watched their videos for 6 months before I ever saw anyone make a choreography mistake. And I was looking because I'm a choreographer too. I can tell you. They are The Best of any group ever created. You have NO idea of the depth and quality they have reached. But now they are in the military. They plan to get back together when they are all out at the end of 2025. But we'll give them a break if we don't see any performances until 2026. They will be "Out of Shape". Not physically. But they will have to practice and sing and dance after not doing that for 2 1/2 years. Look back at the date I discovered them. They had already planned to begin a huge World Tour to promote their new album. Everything was booked and ready to go. But guess what happened? The pandemic hit. The whole world shut down. Their tour was cancelled. They were devastated. They had worked so hard. Thus began a sad saga of BTS. Their Lifeblood was performing! So what happened? That's a whole other story for you to explore.....much later. Now continue On. It's so much fun. But pace yourself. You have a job. Don't overdo. One new guy started posting every day and "Blew a fuse". Too much. Too fast. Rest. And stay healthy. We will enjoy watching you discover it all.

We do have to remember that although they are all talented, they also work extremely hard. I recommend watching the Rise of Bangtan docuseries. It shows them right from pre-debut, how much work they put in.

Agreed. Those other labels are missing out that BTS developed for several years before making it big and it was gradual. Those labels are impatient and want near-instant success so they will most likely fail. I saw a video that said one of the labels tried to create a super-group pilfering seasoned members from their existing groups but that’s not going to work because there will be too many egos in the room who probably don’t want to play second or third fiddle and don’t want to change their style to copy cat another band.

All was hard for them. Because they had to transform into a group. The hardest thing....all 7 guys with different personalities living together. And learning how to get along and not kill each other. A bad idea...7 in a bedroom. But their company had no money. They do now. Billions! Each guy is a multimillionaire now. They had no idea they would succeed to such a high level!! It took a lot of adjustment!!!

The boys are on break but not the ARMYs who are preparing their full return in 2025..I believe that for you too this second part was more pleasant because it was more in-depth...I will like and subscribe 🤗 just a little clarification: I read in a comment that you were criticized for eating...excuse us because we don't have to pass judgment on this fact since JIN had gotten into the habit of eating while chatting with ARMYs! ! Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So u misunderstood. RM started rapping at 13yo. He became an underground rapper. He was found yrs later by Sleepy another rapper who gave him his card and told Bang PD about this talented kid. Bang PD had him audition and signed him on the spot that was 2010. RM was like 17 i think. Sorry my math is not good and my memory sucks. RM is the leader he has a lot to do. It has gotten easier since the members started helping him more. But he is the one that is the voice of the group to the company. And he shares the companies thoughts with the group. RM writes most of their lyrics. All of them make beats, write lyrics, etc. and submit to the company. They get suggestions on improvement. The ones Bang PD likes get made into albums. A lot of those end up being from RM and some from Suga. Both were underground rappers. They know how to flow. All the rappers always write their own lyrics. Sometimes RM writes Eng lyrics for them. Sometimes the other members come up with a chorus, bridge, or some choreo that gets used. They all produce and compose. They all can rap. They were a hip hop group in the beginning. They had a lot of training. Dude, Suga did not join the group at 13yo. u need to rewatch the guide and pay attention to what ur reading. 0.o Suga joined at 18/19 later on in 2010. He was 13 yo when he started rapping and joined the underground rap scene. So basically these 2 guys had a very similar life in different provinces' in Korea without knowing each other. I think they might have heard of each other vaguely. Both were amazing. By fate they ended up in the same label and put in the same group. That's why we say BTS is magic. Dude, JHope was born the same year as RM yeah but Suga is older than them. So no they all are not born at the same time. BIG HIT is their agency. u need to rewatch this guide in full and read carefully. Because u missing stuff just left and right. No reason for that either. They all kinda did not audition for Big Hit, lol. They have different journeys some are similar some not so much. The Rice Squad guide tells it better than i. Hope u check that one out too. After audition they train them. then slowly they make selection of who they want in the group. Some of it was BTS choice. They liked each other and fought to have certain members stay that the agency wanted to cut. RM would tell u dance. Suga was a b-boy in his youth so learning the rest was hard but he was already a dancer. These guys had talent and they chose their path. Bang PD is really good about finding talent. His staff are the same too. I mean look at Jin's story. He was an acting student and they picked him for his visuals not knowing anything about him. He had to learn singing, dancing and rapping and at age 20 mind u. And look at him now just amazing. He still a visual but he can do so much more now. =0} The more guides u watch the more info u see about the years the guys joined the agency. JK & V joined in 2011. Jimin in 2012. The others in 2010 just months apart. So they were training together for 3 yrs some for 2 yrs and Jimin for 6-8 months. More training is better. But the agency debuted them ealy because it was struggling they were the agencies hope. It was severely stressful for the guys. They talk about it in their 10 yr anniversary book. Usually the eldest is the leader. But with BTS that was not the case. And groups after BTS also changed the rules so RM is not the only young leader of his group now a days. RM had the mindset for the leader position bonus he speaks Eng fluently and he was the 1st member because they kinda based the group around him at 1st but that changed. He changed it so that everyone can shine in the group. He a great leader. Pls remember Jk saying he was 15 yo is Korean age he was 13 yo when he joined. Boy with Luv ft. Halsey was my intro song performance on an award show live in 2019. My ult bias is Jimin, Suga wrecker, OT7. Taylor summed things up very well. She used info from various guides by others and changed a few things. They have i think 800 awards now and growing. RM is the only one fluent in Eng. Though he is rusty these days not enough interaction. JK been studying more. Jimin been studying too and Jhope. All the younger bands and solo artists use BTS as inspiration to find fans. Especially small label groups. Seventeen a 13 member group has mental health songs too which i find very cool. I liked hearing ur thoughts. =0] Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army #ThankYouTaylor

As of this year, they have won over 900+ awards which includes solely and as a group on top side projects that have done past 10 years that continue break records and make history.
3:46 They became the first Kpop male group to perform and speak twice at the UN Assembly.
5:44 BTS started as undiscovered talent in their hometowns but many tend to get confused when seeing this specific scene which is from their episode 8 finale of mini-series #BTSAmericanHustleLife that was filmed in los Angeles (2014). It was part a mission of learning how to ‘self-promote’ by standing on the sidewalk trying to randomly invite people to their mini concert as well as learned from a few western artists under supervision of coolio and warren g throughout the episodes before they performed at the end of the show where they did “no more dream” and “we are bulletproof pt2” along with an ending encore to show what they’ve learned during the final episode. (THOSE WERENT ALL RANDOM PEOPLE 😂 IT WAS A STAGED SCENE BUT MANY OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS KNEW BTS WAS AND THEY WERE THERE WAITING FOR THE MINI SHOWCASE TO START).

Since this video in May 2022, a LOT has happened.
First, in June they released an anthology album "Proof" and then announced that they would pause making music as a group and focus on solo work. This is partly because they have to do their mandatory military service for 18-21 months.
J-hope was the first to officially debut as a solo artist, releasing the album "Jack in the Box" in July and headlined in Lollapalooza later that month. The album tells a compelling story from beginning to end, with singles "More and "Arson".
They held a free concert in Busan in October, live streamed also for free all over the world.
Jin released a single "The Astronaut" in October, co-written by Coldplay and performed the song at a Coldplay stadium concert in Argentina. The two bands are very close friends. He joined the military shortly after.
RM released his album "Indigo" in December. A masterful journey through the genres, with singles "Wildflower" and "Still Life" ft. Anderson Paak.
Jimin released "Face" in March, telling about his emotional journey during the pandemic., with singles "Set Me Free Pt. 2" and "Like Crazy".
J-hope released the single "On the Street" ft. J. Cole, and joined the military shortly after.
Then Suga/Agust D released "D-Day" in April, an exploration on the theme of liberation, and then embarked on his world tour.
We are anticipating albums from V and JK later this year, and likely from Jin after his service.
Please note that before these official debuts, all members have released solo work, with all rappers releasing mixtapes and all singers releasing singles. But these past works were not officially released, meaning they were not available on Korean music platforms and not all were available on Spotify or iTunes. Most were gifts for fans, released on Soundcloud and with little to no promotion.
They plan to reconvene as a group in 2025 after they all completed their military service.
    jungkooks dreamers.

BTS started from the bottom and they've come all this way, ARMY walking up this mountain together with them... it's so inspiring to see that genuine hardwork and a love and passion for your craft can succeed and have such a spectacular impact on the world. I think of their story and how these 7 kids from all different places in South Korean came together and just worked and worked with no rewards, releasing their first album after years of training and selling 34 copies on it's first day. 2 days less of 8 years later they would release their anthology album Proof and sell 2.15 million copies on the first day... I feel so much pride to see how far they've come. I can't wait to see their synergy and bond in 2025, I'm sure it'll be stronger than ever.

They released 2 music videos for their 1st single ep "2 Cool 4 Skool" -> No More Dream (you already reacted) and "We Are Bulletproof pt.2" (the pt.1 isn't officially part of the discography, but it was released as a predebut song). So you missed We Are Bulletproof pt.2.
N.O it's the only MV of their 1st mini album "O!RUL8,2?" wich started the "school trilogy" that has two more albums -> "SKOOL LUV AFFAIR" with (Boy In Luv and Just One Day MV's), and "DARK&WILD" with (DANGER and WAR OF HORMONE MV's).
Besides the title tracks of each album, there's the b-sides (without music videos) that are very unique and diferent, so you can listen how versatile they are.

Suga would be dancing/singing because he doesn't like to dance and learning rythyms in singing was most likely hard for him. J hope I would say singing would be his hardest as he is so talented at dancing and rapping. Jin I would say dancing and definitely rapping as he is mostly a vocalist. Tae I would say if he struggled with anything it would be rapping. Jimin is rapping all though he can rap he might say he was struggled with singing in some ways but he is talented in all areas. Jungkook I would say rapping as he originally auditioned to be a rapper but he is definitely mulitalented as you seen in this guide.
