There are some American standards that men have trouble singing, because they tend to be sung higher than most men can carry them (so they don't sing them, including the national anthem). I love hearing top-quality male vocalists perform them in a masculine way, and this performance is a great example! Thanks for making it available here. Regarding John's singing of the Canadian national anthem, I'd like to hear that. When I watch American teams playing Canadian teams (baseball and hockey), and the Canadians belt out their national anthem, I think, "THAT'S how it's done!"
Its funny really, a man from Scotland, with Irish heritage, that lives in Canada is singing the American National Anthem.

Dermott Studio Some of John's family settled in the US. His uncle lives in Long Island near Hofstra University. John used to visit them quite often and worked one summer selling Yoo Hoos at their sports games. He got fired because he drank more than he sold. haha He also sings the National Anthem better than anyone else (our's and Canada's!!)
Funny this arrangement sounds almost exactly like the one The Irish Tenors do but it's a little different. I actually prefer this to that. Mostly at the very end the violins are different
