Speaking of the @royalmint , couple of weeks back I ordered a capsule for a 10oz silver and 20 capsules 32.69mm for 1oz gold brits, 10oz capsule came ok but they sent 20 silver Brit capsules, fair enough, I sent them back, told them I still wanted the gold capsules, well!!! , they arrived today, 40male side capsules, instead of 20male and 20female sides, at least the size was right, SO! Another trip back to the Post Office!!! Seriously if I messed someone’s order up the first time I would treble check the next shipment, lol.
Interesting... I noticed yesterday that the price of these coins at the Royal Mint have gone up 🤔 The 2oz silver version is now 293 pounds (was originally 275) and the 5oz silver is now 621 (I think was 577), not sure on the others. Can't say I've seen that before.
Still stupid money coupled with artificial scarcity. Not a ‘bad’ product but too pompous old school for my liking. The amount of stupid decisions RM make coupled with their price point on items still keeps me away from buying there directly if at all. Great Seals Of The Realm IMO is actually a good idea, but with the RM’s current performance - no thanks.
I don't buy from the Royal Mint anymore as you said I can buy the same coin cheaper from other dealers and not had any contact from my Mint mark manager for 6mths 😢
Not buying into much from the RM these days. A bad taste and smell remains as to their mad, haphazard coins policy. I take comfort my purchases are selective and not extensive.
As lines as it’s selling and making them money, it likely won’t end. It is one of their prestige ranges, and there are more amazing designs from engravers that they haven’t gotten to yet.
I like the lines in the background for the George and the Dragon first in series. Disappointed to hear it's a pre-existing artwork, don't care for the design either. Clarke's faces on this and the Una and the lion release, are not to my taste. In fact the face of Una is so mediocre looking, that one might almost believe that the design choice was attempting alignment with the policy direction in television and film, to feature ever more ghastly looking people, in order to normalise lowest common denominator nastiness or somethin. How else could one explain it. His rendering of the Queen showed that he can draw human faces. The queen's beasts were also able conceived.
Great Seals should be in medal form, rather than two coins to display both sides. Apart from the tax advantages for the gold, it seems better to recreate the original seal.
Also, I should mention that I like the idea. We'll see how it translates. Perhaps this was meant to be released post the cancelled series, or it may have been a competing idea and we're getting a window into the internal politics at the Mint.

Is there any difference buying a gold britannia from tavex or the Royal Mint?

Not a fan of any of these designs tbh, even the waterloo. Just hope the folk that get them can enjoy them without any blemishes or dints.

A good-looking Waterloo medal/coin, but I still do not understand why they cannot put the date the right way up. An up-side-down date is just stupid.

if you mean bullion, the Dragon bullion versions, incl 2oz silver, will be released on 16th July. There was an e-mail sent by the RM stating that.
