So one thing that's interesting about the title of the show (Sousou no Frieren) is that you can loosely translate it as "Frieren of the funerals", so when reading the manga you get the impression that the plot is about how Frieren is going to outlive her partners and attend their funerals, but at this point is revealed that "Sousou no Frieren" is actually a title given to her by the demons implying that "Wherever she goes, funerals must be held" since she got her reputation from killing more demons than anyone in history.
So yeah, the title Sousou no Frieren has that double meaning of how Frieren constantly walks a path that invariably leads her to the funerals of her friends and the funeral of every demon she comes across.

This also explains Quals suprise in his death. Not only Frieren killed him with his own spell, she killed him with her modified spell to make Qual miserable in his death. He realized she twisted his spell to kill his kind(remember Quals Zooltrak was black and Frieren/Ferns is white).

"I'm strong." - "Stronger than me?" - "Stronger than your bosses boss."
Always a joy, hearing her calmly stating a fact like it's about the weather or something. ^^
About the Seven Sages ... nah, at most only six (including Aura) are left - remember that Zoltraak-guy? Qual was a sage too.

      Spoiler:
That is not quiet right. Qual was a Sage of Corruption, not a Sage of Destruction. The sages of destruction are still above Qual I think. Most of them are dead, but at least two are still alive. Macht and Aura.

@@Nandorion112 correct. I had made the same mistake at first.

The Seven Sages of Destruction were the Demon King's top generals. It's fair to assume some of them are already dead, and Aura is just one of the few that survived the long war against the Demon King and his defeat by Himmel and his party. There's probably still a couple out there like her, who were defeated but not killed and basically laid low out of fear of Himmel and his crew. As Fern told Frieren in the previous episode, Aura came back 28 years ago, which matches the date of Himmel's death. The demons were so afraid of him even in his old age that they remained in hiding until they heard he'd passed.
Qual, the sorcerer who came up with the spell Zoltraak, was part of a different group, the Elder Sages of Corruption. Who knows how many of those are still out there.

They said that Aura was defeated by the hero's gang, but more than defeated, I think they said that she managed to escape, hid, and waited for Himmel to die to attack again.

FYI, "Frieren the Slayer" in Japanese is just the show's tiles "Sousou no Frieren" meaning Frieren of the Funeral.
The English translation just didn't try to work the double meaning of the title into it.

    Cool tidbit,
When frieren kills dhrat the translation of what she says is "that's one down" but in Japanese she says ippiki which is how Japanese count like rodents or pests, not something you'd use on people or significant life

      about to point that out.
In the subs that element is missed, but in the dub she says something like "that's one monster down" which is closer to the Japanese meaning.

@MichaelRBrown-lh6kn Closer for sure. But even still, monster implies being scary but ippiki is more akin to a pest, it's pretty derogatory, as though it was just a flea or rat

Aura is "the one that got away", not still "One of seven". Remember the Hero's Party FOUGHT their way to the Demon King's Castle THROUGH his hordes of minions and henchmen.
Like Frieren said, most of Aura's forces were decimated in battle with the Party, but Aura herself escaped.
Frieren knows the strength of her companions, and trusts in Stark and Fern to face Linia and Lugner.

Qual is not part of the demons that are the Seven Sages of Destruction. Qual has/had his own title Elder Sage of Corruption.
