    As a person from Turkey, this is the only type of dough that I can eat by itself. No need to accompany it with anything else. Just eat it straight up dry.

    Simit this recipe is close to Big Bagel the bread rolls as I believe it was created in Russia. Mr. Husseinandout I come from Egypt and we have this kind of dough in hard shape and soft too. We eat it there and we buy them from in front of the movie theaters but it accompany sometimes Salt and hot pepper , Hard boiled Eggs or Douka.

      Hi Davina ,when I tried using date syrup,it didn’t work well .The crust of simit did not turn crispy.
