    Keep in mind that Civil War's AI poster was published after it had been in cinemas for a few weeks, and nothing inside the movie was AI-generated. So they couldn't really affect it's performance.

      You're right! Civil War gets a pass where the other two films don't thanks to the movie being made entirely by humans. The posters came out 5 days after the movie was released, meaning the opening weekend couldn't have been affected. Still though, there's a decent amount of money that gets made after a film's first weekend. So there COULD have been a smaller shift, which didn't seem to be the case. Admittedly I wasn't aware of this upon making the video, so thank you for pointing it out! I'll pay more attention to this for next time.

      @@nicksgottanickname No worries! I also made a mistake. I misremembered the timeline. They indeed released those deformed posters close to the release date.

    3:00 I have to disagree with your point on the concern of people mistaking generated imagery as real. This is not a new thing, we have had photoshop for decades now.

      They are pretty creepy. These posters are one of the reasons that the move doesn't have a great reputation.

    Any industry filled with business majors as executives love cutting human labor costs and want those fired people to purchase their shitty products. This has been happening all over entertainment lately with Gaming, Movies, TV etc.

    Amazing video! Looking deeply into the reception of these films, backlashes, and financial numbers made for a very fun watch! I found it surprising to me to see Ms. Marvel performing worse than secret invasion given everything you’ve talked about. I do hope that producers see how it can tarnish a films reputation in the case of Late Night with the Devil, and back off with using generative AI for imagery. Leave creative jobs to creative people, instead of throwing in whatever a machine threw up.

    • @nicksgottanickname
      @nicksgottanickname  Месяц назад +1

      I absolutely agree with that sentiment. The only thing these films are known for is using that stuff. It's a real shame because a lot more went into these films than plugging prompts into a machine. If they hadn't done that, the outstanding filmmaking techniques would shine through rather than get overshadowed.

    you did an AMAZING job with your sources for this video! i definitely agree that ai is actually a really good tool to help real artists make real art by letting them see things from new perspectives, I remember talking to a coworker who used ai as a reference model for their art since they couldnt find a good enough reference online, and they still created something human and original. as long as ai can be used like another tool at an artists disposal instead of a replacement for them, then theres still potential for positive use. also secret invasion is so funny thank you for showing that lmao peak ugly ai slop x)

      @@jaxitaxi_ I appreciate that a lot! You’re exactly right, there’s a key difference between using AI as a tool and using it as a replacement. I’m constantly blown away by the new features Adobe is tuning out with all of its programs. Secret Invasion is literally the only MCU content that I haven’t watched because of the overall laziness that the show exhibits. I feel that the unpopularity of the show is encouraging to the future of media production since it shows that nobody likes AI used to that effect.

    If I see AI usage like in the Late Night w/t Devil where they are cutting corners, then I assume they are cutting corners everywhere else and that's what I'm looking for the rest of the movie. I feel like you can say the Secret Invasion tried to be creative but the execution was not there. Great vid, looking forward to more!

      @@YaboyCharles it absolutely taints the rest of the movie! I feel like once you use AI a single time, every aspect of the film could easily be written off as AI generated. Thank you for your comment, I’m very glad you enjoyed!
