Salvation in OT is by faith in the coming Messaih, expressed in the sacrifices and feasts that lead to Christ. NT faith is in the Christ that already came.

Who you’re referring to is Israel. Israel is being saved and given the new covenant after those days/tribulation according to Acts3:19-21, Heb 8:8-13 and Jer 31:31-34. Is it your understanding that your spiritual Israel and salvation is coming to you after the tribulation. Paul says we are saved now by believing Jesus died for all our sins, we are complete in God, all trespasses forgiven and the law blotted out per 1 Cor 15:1-4 and Col 2:9-15. If your spiritual Israel which is impossible how can you be not saved until after tribulation as they are and be saved now at the same time? Modern religion has hood winked you.

Darby absolutized the word, "divided" in the statement, "rightly "dividing" the Word of Truth. The Greek emphasizes the idea of "handling" rather than a literal "dividing." The "church" in the New Testament is a continuation of God's people, the believers in Israel in the Old Testament. The "Atonement" is not confined to genetics.

The Cannon is a cohesive whole that is distinctive bt genre and literary typology. Not the insane, over realized typology of ultra disoensationalism. Which is really just a form of empiricism

The problem is that are large portions of the old testament that must be allegorized in order to eliminate a future literal israel in the future literal millennium. This is the reason that covenant churches spend all their time in the new testament and a few selected portions of the old testament. This is no better than the jewish synagogues that only read the books of moses and never talk about the profits because of all the problems of having to explain to people why they're ignoring certain points. I think.
They are sincere but they are sincerely misguided by the training that they got from seminary rather than figuring out the scripture themselves.

Noticed, and you hit it on point at 2:15 with dispensationalism. Dispensationalist mold their theology to match their interpretation of bible prophecies rather than interpret bible prophecies based on an established theology brought from the text.

The Book of Revelation is apocalyptic not estacalogical as the title of the Book states as well as the the Greek text.

You have to wonder why the Holy Spirit, if he had inspired this eschatological teaching to Darby, waited until 1830 to do so or if perhaps Darby was inspired by somebody else with nefarious purposes, human or spiritual. Look up a Jesuit priest named Manuel Lecunza.
Once you realize what the purpose of the Jesuit order was after the Reformation, it’s easy to make the connection without being unnecessarily conspiratorial.

According to Darby, the Holy Spirit failed to lead The Body of Christ into all truth, as Jesus told us. Shame on those who refuse to actually take Darby's to account for this. Lord have mercy. God did not fail the Church.

I understand his point about taking literalism too far. But covenant theology has taken allegorizing too far. I.
Think the truth is somewhere in between. The church has had sixteen hundred years of covenant theology with no alternative viewpoint. This naturally brings a lot of push back when the new kid on the block comes in. I think the covenant theology is having a natural reaction to a new idea. Rather than seeing the weaknesses of their viewpoint , they are be littlingn the new view point.

The rapture before the Tribulation is not new, but taught by the apostles. It is determined by the structure of Revelation: 1) Christ in Glory = "Things you see" [Rev 1], 2) Church Age = "Things that are" [Rev 2-3], 3) "Things to come" [Rev 4-22] = 3a) Rapture [Rev 4-5] + 3b) Tribulation [Rev 6-18] + 3c) 2nd Coming [Rev 19] + 3d) Millennium [Rev 20] + 3e) Eternal State Future [Rev 21-22]. If the narrative sequence represents the chronological sequence, then the Rapture (chap 4-5) is before the Tribulation (chap 6-18), and the 2nd Coming (chap 19) is before the Millennium (chap 20).

    • @crazydavey2

Revelation 20:4-6 clearly puts the 1st resurrection (dead in Christ rise first - 1st Thessalonians 4) after the rollout of the mark of the beast and martyrdom of the saints who refuse the mark and refuse to worship the beast.
So are there two 1st Resurrections? One supposed pretribulational 1st Resurrection (1st Thessalonians 4), and one post-tribulational 1st Resurrection (Revelation 20:4-6)? There is only one future 1st Resurrection, the Pretribulational Rapture teaching is a false doctrine.

Have you ever experienced someone who is lying to you about something, and they add a lot of extra detail that doesn't add up, but they want to persuade you to believe their story or side of an argument and yet are not being honest about what is actually written in context? Well, watch this video, and you'll witness that very thing.

  • @daiqingyuan8451

The truth is on seeing the globe from both poles. Reformed sees continuity, Dispensationalism sees discontinuity. Jesus says that the kingdom of heaven is like the scribe taking something out of his house, with something old and something new.

This video was not helpful; it confused rather than clarified. This type of discussion includes subtle distinctions that would be more helped with a graphical explanation rather than words upon words upon words. And for what's worth, I consider Mr. Poythress one of the most Christ-like theologians of which I am aware. God has given Mr. Poythress a brilliant mind but sometimes he should consider bringing it all down so that a fifth-grader could understand it.
