I'm new to SDA. I have looked to secularism for hope recently, we can only find in Christ. Your sermon was timely, for it's helping me see clearer, I'm going to be baptized in the seventh day Adventist. You help me make that decision, the urgency. OMG whites writings are incredible, keep quoting her.

Thanks Pastor Steed for your very enthusiastic message. It was CLEAR and on target. However, with NO INTENTION of being condescending, I am dubious that most of your listeners really understand the import of what you said. The words were clear; but the message? As you said insufficient background of information for most is the culprit. We have got to get back to teaching Fundamental Seventh-day Adventism in OUR CHURCHES. And denominational history has got to be brought forward on a fast track. Of course, this very pervasive ignoring of the Spirit of Prophesy has contributed to our blindness, groping in the dark like those without the gift of the "seer" the Messenger for the last day Church, Ellen G. White. We need to OPEN UP our churches and TEACH like never before.
Our people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (See Hosea4:6) Unfortunately for many it is by choice; others are just at a lost.
And members, please TAKE RESPONSIBLITY for your own spiritual education! Study the Word FOR YOURSELVES with the help of the Spirit of Prophesy books. We must face the test individually, remember? May our dear Lord bless us as we endeavor to do His will.
How will Liberty help us with the mandated vax
I understood and benefited from his own remarks, but most of that centuries old poem went right over my head. It was understandable when he quoted from short passages and commented. But when he read a long portion with no comment, he lost me. But to address his theme, I share his concern that many Adventists seem to have forgotten our understanding of these things.
In their concerns over liberals and Catholics (and Biden is both), many Adventists latched onto Trumpism with gusto, even to the point of denying objective reality concerning the election results and accepting the silly claim that leftists had stormed the Capitol. Surely God is showing us that we must not ally ourselves with either the leftist agenda nor Trumpism.
I want to mention one more thing with regard to the election that somehow seems to escape too many people. Our constitutional system divides up authority. When governors and other officials certify elections, their authority must be respected. When judges throw out lawsuits as baseless, their authority must be respected. When states choose their electors, this must be respected. When the sitting Vice President says that he will follow the Constitution, he is not an evildoer. His authority must be respected. But rioters only had the "authority" of lies and violence.
Am I thrilled with everything President Biden is doing and all the things he is likely to do? No way. But under the Constitution, he is our legally elected president.
