Can't believe they didn't come with Polyurethane insoles, the Citrus 7s did and they were just a regular retro, these were marketed as OG SPECS yet came with non Polyurethane insoles & for 210 at that. After replacing the insole and doing a lace swap I love them. 7s are the most comfortable AIR cushioned Jordan, even more so than the 11s which is #2. The midsole of the 7 is spongy, squishy, and the softest of any Jordan.
Agreed on the comfort of 7s. They are the most comfortable of any Jordan model to me, as well!
I remember when Jordan 7s we’re really popular in the mid 2000s. Fakes were everywhere. Now there’s no hype for them. This is my favorite color way. Very understated and effective.
Probably 10x more the releases these days vs the good old days

Only thing you missed were the holes in the OG pair were black. Had a black layer under where the top of the forefoot area
I found a pair of these sneakers in a locker in Murrow high school in Brooklyn, New York when I was a student then in the 90s. this sneaker screams 1980s going into the 1990s to me. why? the bottom sole (and even the base with those triangle shapes) reminds me of trapper keeper and saved by the bell (tv show) intro with those shapes...

You know that task is going to be a huge one. The last time I did one was back in 2015 and the collection has probably doubled or tripled since then. It’s really a lot of work to do so if anything, I’d probably work it in parts rather than as one huge collection video as I’d done before. Hope you understand.

I had these bad boys back in 1992 and I was really happy to cop a 2022 pair for under retail. Went to the collection and rotation. Great video and review.
I had the 2006 pair when I was in Kindergarten and 1st Grade when I was 6 years old in 2006

I think I like the Retro 2022 more than the OG. Retro gives a fresher look and vividness of colors to it! plus the cut and lines are way better IMO. But don't get Me wrong Og is still Og nothing will ever change that. Will rock my Retro Cardinal 7's till the soles fell off. More videos like this @MJO23DAN Thanks Man! Everytime. 🙏😎👍👍

Loved the video, very thorough. But I would caution you on discussing color differences between OG and 2022 in any regard, upper, midsole, outsole. Pigment and paints fade over time even if they’ve never been taken out of the box. Either way enjoyed 20 minutes of the details 👍
I just swoop these for $157 as well to replace my 2011 cardinal...my 2011 version is so bloated looking and not sleek like the 2022 version. I can't wait to do a comparison vid. Good comparison to the og, nice vid!

Just pick these up for $175 and I’ve been itching for a pair of og 7s jordan 7s are in my top 5 this is my first time with this specific colorway I got the hares, Bordeaux’s,playoffs/blk reds, and Olympics but since I didn’t have these so I got them they are a clean and underrated og they don’t get as much love as the others I mentioned but i definitely really like these
The Cardinal 7s was my childhood shoe I had the first retro which was 2006 I had them when I was 6 years old them I got rid of them in 2008 now I got the 2022 retro of the Cardinal 7s

Im so stoked people dont gravitate towards 7s, picked up most of the good ones for retail and the Trophy Rooms for not too much tbh those shoes may or may not go up but they are total fire and absolute quality

It’s amazing how Jordan brand can get these retros right compared to getting a Jordan 1 true to OG form. Also the brand never deviates from the OG styling when it comes to nom OG color ways, but when it comes to the 3,4 or 5, they use the jumpman in place of the Nike branding on non OG colors.

You never mentioned the difference in the holes of the tongue. the OG had a black inner neoprene?
I believe I only touched upon the holes being bigger on the OG to allow for better ventilation. The interior of the OG and retro is the cardinal red. The foam interior is black. The retro is white.

Fully agree, the prices are not reasonable. But sometimes I prefer to take the risk of paying the retail tag than goig to resell because I am lost about what is going to sell out lately. The history seems to not be the key though.

There was this crazy bump near the toes of those retro 7s from what I remember. That’s what made me pass on them.

I picked up the citrus about two year's ago.
Seems I have a habit of picking up older models that I missed and then Jordan brand retros them a year later lol.
I got the 2013 fire red 3s last year too, lol.
I also picked up the white cement 3s about 18 months ago. 🤔
Now they're coming back. Although it's that darn aged look so I'll pass on them.
I'm pretty much good for everything now. Got everything I need, just about.
The only purchases I made lately was for the new Nike air huarache resin and the 2017 nike air tech challenge 3.
The only Jordan's I really need now for the collection is the burgundy 5s and the unc 5s. Then I'm happy.
Oh, there is something else, but I doubt nike will ever bring them back and that's the nike air force 180 pumps.

I'm very easy to please. All the regular qc issues that people normally bitch about, isn't a thing to me. HOWEVER, I was excited to get my hands on these but when I saw them at the mall, that quality was just overall disgusting 🤮 I totally passed on these.
That sucks, I bought the shoe on Nike like 2 weeks ago for 210. Then it goes on sale.
Sorry man. If another sale pops up before you’re unable to return them, call customer service and see if you can apply it or repurchase the shoe and return the one you have. Nike gives you 60 days to basically test drive them before you can return them.
I dont think this is an attractive shoe at all. I love the history, but 7s have always been a skip for me
The neoprene sockliner aka inner bootie on the original is thicker, especially around the ankle. Wish they still made them like the original.
